NESSE’S POV

“Good morning, Nesse,” Athena greeted the moment I got to work, rising to her feet.

“Get my cup of coffee immediately,” I told her.

“I already had it ready, Nesse,” Athena responded, showing me the cup of coffee that I hadn’t even realized that she was holding.

“Fantastic,” I said.

I went to my office and Athena followed me.

As soon as I settled into my chair, I took the coffee and consumed every single drop.

“Ugh, how I couldn’t wait to get this,” I muttered to myself, but somehow, Athena heard it.

Or maybe I just didn’t know that I was loud enough.

“I would have thought that you also had coffee at home before coming here,” Athena said.

She seemed to be surprised that I was this thirsty for some coffee, seeing how I drank everything at once.

“And another cup in the car, five minutes away from my company, but it is never enough,” I responded.

“We would need to restock, Nesse. I doubt I would be able to make any more coffees for you after today,” Athena told me.

HADE’S POVBy mid morning, I decided to leave the Organization to see him; it was important. As the hours ticked by, I got closer to the combat.“I am not worried or afraid. Blake is nothing compared to the power I possess,” I assured myself. All through the night, and even in my sleep, I repeated the exact same words, trying to convince myself otherwise, but by morning, when I still felt a certain way, I decided to go and see him.He was not a Seer and he certainly couldn’t predict who would win; even though I already assured myself that I would kill Blake with ease and cut his head off, but he could get me something that would make things a little faster and easier. This wasn’t about power anymore.“I must win.”There were too many things at stake if I didn’t. There was no way I wouldn’t, but then again, if anything happened and things didn’t go my way, even in death, I would feel the humiliation, and I couldn’t stand it.When I got to the part of the Organization where I usually sl

  • Best Interruption

JULES’S POVI couldn’t sleep, and my bedroom didn’t seem conducive enough for me anymore.Nothing had gone as planned.Just when I thought that I was close to getting what I had always wanted, something else came and snatched it away from me.“How do I handle this?” I continued to ask myself. That was the only question that plagued my mind, and when my phone rang and I saw that it was Nesse, I knew that she had found out.“The bloody doctor,” I grumbled bitterly before picking up the call.“You had the nerve to visit my doctor and try to steal information about me, didn’t you?” Nesse said as soon as the call connected.“What are you talking about?” I asked her firmly, trying to pretend even though I knew that I had already been caught.“Don’t be dumb, Jules,” Nesse snarled.I was almost stunned to speechlessness.“I am still your mother, Nesse. Have some goddamn respect!” I bellowed at her, but Nesse scoffed over the phone.“You were never a mother to me, Jules, and since you have cho

  • To Keep The Decree

IRON’S POVI decided to watch over Jane because I just didn’t want Blake to do it.There was a lot of tension in the Organization now, especially after the announcement was made, and knowing that Blake would like to train, I took it upon myself to keep watch over her. Besides, I already vowed to Hera that I would keep Jane safe.It was my responsibility.More than that, I had to start preparing for the fact that after the combat, I would have just one of them alive in the Organization. When I even asked Blake not to bother with watching over her, he hadn’t budged.“Are you okay, Jane?” I asked her when I entered her room to tell her good night.Even though Jane was blind and very young, she barely slept. Mostly, she spent most of the early hours of the night to practice more on her guitar; Blake and the other Titan who was killed confirmed it to me, so I didn’t bother her until I stopped hearing her play.“Yes, I am,” Jane answered. “Just about to lay down,” she said.“And sleep?” I a

  • Ridiculous!

ATHENA’S POVNesse stubbornly worked late into the night, and she only closed when it was close to midnight, and after several cups of coffee.“I have told you that you don’t have to wait until I leave before you do,” Nesse said when she came out and saw me at my desk. She wasn’t a woman who appreciated anything that was done for her. I already knew this about her, and so it didn’t faze me. I wasn’t even seeking her gratitude…as long as she didn’t fire me or prevent me from watching over her.“You should have closed and gone home along with the others,” she added tightly.“Who would have served your coffees?” I asked her, teasing lightly as I also packed up my bag. That was almost crossing a line with Nesse, because she didn’t make or take jokes, but much to my surprise, she didn’t flare up.She didn’t crack a smile either.I hadn’t met a woman who didn’t know smiles and laughter until I began to work for Nesse, and it made me wonder what it would feel like to have her laugh deeply.E

  • A Mourning Tongue

IRON’S POVI proceeded to slip out of the Organization unnoticed. I didn’t want anyone to know that I was leaving for an hour or two.Things were really difficult and intense now, and they could easily get triggered, but then I met one of the Titans, weeping profusely in a hidden corner.“What are you doing here?” I asked him worriedly. “I did leave a firm instruction that no one is to be alone,” I reminded him.He was younger than most of the Titans, and probably weaker, and as such, he shouldn’t even be seen alone for a second, and yet, here he was.“I am not afraid of dying,” he said.Even though he was sobbing, his tone was firm and adamant, and I realized that he was not afraid.“Why then are you here, sobbing and alone?” I asked him.“The only person that cared about me in this entire Organization has been murdered,” he said as he continued sobbing. “He wasn’t anyone important, but he took care of me and looked after me. Life is just going to be worthless without him,” he added.
