Brian was infuriated, gnashing his teeth as his eyes kept on burning with rage.
“You both are going to regret this!” He pointed at them one after the other, but they called his bluff. They laughed so hard that they began to cough, almost losing their balance. “I already said it, Brian…” Romeo stated, taking a deep breath. “You are a clown, and I think starting a career as a Stand-up comedian is going to suit you…” “Damn right!” Pearl nodded in agreement, refusing to get rid of her mockery. “Romeo is ten times the man you will ever be, Brian. The earlier you understand that this marriage is over, the better for you.” Brian felt another deadly sting inside his chest, a hot agony that burned inside his chest. His mouth refused to close, yet he was dumbfounded. “I think it’s time for you to leave, Brian…” Pearl said, her voice reeking with peskiness. “Give us some privacy. I still need to cum.” Brian watched her come closer, and before he could say a word, she had already begun to push him out of the room. “Don’t even bother coming back to work, Brian! You are fired!” Romeo sacked him, angrily pointing at him. Brian stood behind the entrance, eyes on Pearl with tears still trickling down his face. “You don’t know the plans I had for you, Pearl. You have just lost a treasure all because of a moment of fun.” “What stupid plans, Brian?! You are just talking trash!” Pearl rolled her eyes again, and then she grabbed the door. “I wish I had never met you! I wish I didn’t have to put up with an incompetent man like you!” She slammed the door to his face, and then she returned to continue from where she stopped. Brian stood there for a while, his heart still beating like talking drums. Then he laughed bitterly, sniffling to suppress his tears. Eventually, he decided to walk away, staggering out of the edifice. His brows furrowed when he saw the black Porsche parked in front of the building. The number plate- REGAL, was boldly written, confirming his thoughts. A few seconds later, the driver stepped out and opened the back door. An old man alighted from the car, adjusting his gray jacket as he marched toward Brian. He bowed, expressing deep reverence and a little nervousness. “Master Brian…” His tone was shaky, and just as he had expected, Brian’s face was twisted in annoyance. “What are you doing here, Diego?” Brian questioned, wiping the tears on his face. “I am sorry, Master Brian…” Diego took a deep breath, and then he cleared his throat to get rid of the clog that gripped him. “I just needed to make sure that they didn’t hurt you. Those two idiots!” He grunted, balling his right fist. “You knew?” Brian arched his brows, looking Diego in the eyes. The old man looked away, bending his face to the ground. “I wasn’t sure at first, Young Master.” He explained, his voice still unstable. “But I always knew that Pearl Stuttgart couldn’t be trusted. After all, she only agreed to marry you because her grandfather threatened to disown her if she refused.” The old man tutted, shaking his head with a pissed countenance. “If only she knew that you are the reason why her family business has been lifted from bankruptcy since she got married to you…” “That remains a secret, Diego,” Brian warned, pointing the old man in the face. “Of course…” Diego nodded, and then he took a deep breath. “What now, Master Brian? What are your intentions?” “Hmmm…” Brian cupped his chin, drifting for a few seconds. Suddenly, a wry smile appeared on his face, spreading across his lips. “I have the perfect plan, Diego. They are both going to pay for this.” He swore, causing the old man to nod in satisfaction. “Cancel all the plans I had for Pearl and her family, and stop all pending investments with City Global.” “Yes, Master Brian…” The old man bowed, delight still written all over his face. “One more thing…” He gulped noisily, uncertain of the outcome of what he was about to say. Brian’s countenance was deadpan, making it hard to tell what his thought was. “Your Grandfather, Master Brian. He really wants you to come back. He is sorry…” Brian grunted, anger brewing inside him. “Tell him my answer remains the same, Diego…” He retorted calmly, walking toward his car. The old man followed at once, struggling with his weak bones. “But, Master Brian…” He panted after the brief sprint, and then he looked at the trash can called a car. “Unbelievable…” He muttered, realizing that the car was even more ugly from a closer glance. “How can the richest and most powerful man in this country be driving this?” He pointed, shaking his head slowly. “Please come home, Master Brian. Enough of this façade…” He paused for a few seconds just to be sure that Brian was not more infuriated than he already was. “You said you needed just five years to know what it feels like to be a nobody, and also find a good woman to marry. Five years have gone by, and I think you should come home.” Brian grunted, and then he took a deep breath. “Apparently, I still haven’t gotten a good woman…” He shuddered, draining the little anticipatory hope the old man had. “Tell the old man that I will not be coming home anytime soon. I may have forgiven him, but I still haven’t forgotten the pain.” He sighed in despair, the hurtful memories hitting him as he grabbed the handle of the old car. “He is dying!”Latest Chapter

“Are you really sure?” Brian had to ask for the umpteenth time, eyes on the young man standing before him.Alex nodded, then he took a deep breath.“You have asked me this same question countlessly, Brian. I am fine, you have to believe me.” He insisted, then a heavy sigh followed.“If you say so.” Brian retorted with a calm voice, nodding slowly.“It’s just that it's very hard to believe you, Alex. You look a mess…” He gestured to him, eyes keen with observation.“How is your father? The last time I inquired, you told me he was still in the hospital.”“Yeah…” Alex forced a smile, but he could barely hold onto it.“He is still in the hospital, but he is getting better…” He lied, voice unable to hold its grip.Brian stared at him without blinking, silently taking note of his unusual behavior. The tiny beads of sweat on his forehead, the inability to maintain eye contact, and even the fact that he was tapping his fingers in the air, something he did whenever he was nervous.“Are you sur
Blind Loyalty
“I am not sure.” Alex retorted with a low tone, taking a deep breath.“But from the little I heard from my father, I think it unlocks something very sacred to your family…”“Like a treasure?”“I think so…” Alex nodded, then he reached for his top drawer.Rebecca kept her eyes on him, watching as he took out a piece of paper with a drawing.“This is what the key looks like.” Alex slid the paper toward her, and she grabbed it, lifting it toward her face. Her eyes stared at the sketch, and even though it was far from perfect, she was able to note the structure and also the fact that it was ancient. That made her curiosity rise, her eyes returning to the Attorney.“How do I find this key, Alex? Any idea where it could be?”Alex’s expression fell, revealing the thought inside his head.Rebecca tutted, her eyes sparkling with annoyance.“Of what use are you exactly?” Her tone was hostile, her pupils constricted with anger.“You have not been of any help to me, Alex. I wonder why I am still

“I believe I have every right to get an answer from you…”“I am his daughter. His only child.” Rebecca fumed in rage, almost crushing her purse. Her flaming eyes were on the young man seated across the table, almost ready to consume him.“I am sorry, Miss Regal. But there is nothing I can do. I am just doing my job.” The young man explained, keeping a straight face.Rebecca snorted, her temper rising alongside her suspicion.“Did he put you up to this?”“Excuse me?” The man raised an eyebrow, bemusement in his eyes.“Who are you talking about?”“My nephew…” Rebecca took a deep breath. “Did he ask you not to tell me anything about my father’s Will?”The man looked away, then he cleared his throat.“Brian has nothing to do with this, Ma’am. I am just following due process. When the time is…”“I don’t care about any bloody process!” Rebecca slammed hard on the table, causing the man to flicker. She was still vibrating, bloodshot eyes firing arrows of contempt at the young man.She pointe
Raising a Progeny
“What trap?” Quan asked in a hurry, right brow arched.Charlotte chuckled softly, returning her gaze to him.She could see the impatience in the Minister’s eyes, but keeping people in suspense seemed to be one of her hobbies.“Did you really think I was willing to let him get all of that percentage in returns?” She retorted, mischief dazzling in her eyes.Quan huffed, a delightful smile on his face.“You bad girl!” He hailed her, refusing to get rid of his smile.“I’ve always known you to be a mastermind; I just knew that you had something up your sleeve.” He sniggered, then he cleared his throat.“Tell me, Charlotte. What are you up to? What’s your plan to get rid of him?” He was anxious to receive a response, his smile leaving some room for his curiosity.“I have a plan.” Charlotte sank into the space beside the Minister, then she unfolded her arms.“Like I said…” She turned to face the Minister, sinister smile intact.“He is walking into a trap, and as soon as we are done with the

“Who exactly do you think you are?” Quan was furious, standing before Brian and next to Charlotte. He ignored the silent gestures of the lady, pleading with him to be calm.“Who told you that you could walk out on us? In the meeting of a meeting?”“I didn’t just walk out, Minister Quan. I excused myself. I already told Miss Walker the reason why I need to go home. We can always have this meeting some other time, and at a more convenient hour.”Charlotte tried to avoid Brian’s eyes, but they caught up with her before she could escape the glance. She knew exactly what that look meant, but being aware that saying anything could fuel the Minister’s rage made her resist the urge to speak. She could feel her heart beating faster, enveloped by the tension hanging in the midst of the two men.“I am doing you a huge favor, Mr. Regal. What I am offering you is a lifetime opportunity. Owning over five hundred oil wells is a rare privilege. You should be on your knees, begging me to give you this
Government's Share
Charlotte parted her lips, but when it was time for her to speak, it seemed as though her voice had been frozen. She blinked several times, then she surrendered her weakness to her sister.“Mr. Regal?” Elma stepped in at once, putting on a smile that was meant to be alluring.“Trust me, I understand your concerns. But pulling these strings was very difficult for us, especially getting the Minister to be on board with this. He is taking a high risk, and mind you, if this project fails, we would be owing the Government a huge amount of money. The people could also come for us for destroying public property.”Brian scoffed, causing the lady to stay silent.Elma took a deep breath, and when that was not enough, she let it out at once, bending her face to the ground.Brian faced the Minister, his stoic expression unwavering.“Miss Walker here told me that the Government has abandoned these oil wells for years. Now that we have decided to develop them, they suddenly remember that they belon
