"You... you, Sophia! You bastard! This had all been your plan to erase me out of existence. Our marriage was all part of your family's selfish evil plans and interests. Now I know your devilish desire and also your ruthless family's desire. Listen to me clearly, I promise to take you down. I promise to take your family down," Nathan spat under his breath, with bitterness, rage, anger, and fierce disgust.

His anger was on the verge of making him tear Sophia apart, but he kept holding back. Even with his head banging in pain, he still surprisingly had the strength to struggle with Sophia by restraining her on the wall.

"Nathan, please," Sophia begged, her face pale and filled with fear. All that was in her mind was that she was going to die right here and now with the way things turned out to be.

"It's not my fault. I am being forced to do this," she replied with a crackling voice and trembling body.

"Forced, you say?" Nathan asked angrily with gritted teeth. "All this while, I thought

Soon, Victor and the other man who was with him reached the building he had been staring at. The structure looks old, made of wood with cheap designs, and at the top, a thin chimney stood out against the very tall sky, and from it, smoke could be seen rising into the air. The man stepped forward toward the entrance of the door, pulled out a card from his suit pocket, and pressed it against a scanning glass platelet on the door. And in that moment, the glass scanner on the door beeped twice with a green light flashing across the screen, then the door creaked open. The man shifted his gaze to Victor, then gently moved to the side of the door, giving a clear path for Victor to step in. After this, he gestured for Henry to enter.“Sir, please go in. Grandmaster Zarek is waiting for you.”Victor was still wondering whether to step in or not. Everything wasn't making sense, from the entire journey to this specific moment. His heart pounding on his chest, and panic gradually began to rise

  • Chapter 301: Drop it

The moment Victor stepped into the car, the door shut close behind him with a thud. The driver in the front seat started the engine, and the vehicle sped off.Victor watched as the car raced forward, stunned as to where they were going. Zarek didn't specify the specific location they were heading to, and worst of all, Victor is unsure if these men were sent by Zarek. Even though he knew the city roads well and every lane they led to, it felt as if the men were driving him through a place he had never seen before. The roads look narrow, with bushes all on the sides.A towering mountain could be seen from a distance. The streets and everything looked different, strange, unfamiliar. It was as if they had teleported to another country, because Victor was sure that a few minutes ago, he had been keeping track of the road before everything became unfamiliar. Soon, the car came to a halt, and the door opened automatically. Victor stepped out in that instant, his eyes darting around, confu

  • Chapter 300: speaking of the devil

“Exactly, Mum. You understand my point fully well; that’s the aim, and we’re going to achieve it to the fullest. So you should just forget about Sophia and focus on our plan,” Victor chuckled, then relaxed back onto the sofa.Deep down, Jessica felt puzzled about the entire thing, the organisation's name, and a whole lot that sounds weird and very suspicious and most of all dangerous. But no matter what, she had to play along. Maybe through this, she might discover where her daughter was, and once she made contact with her, she would look for a way to escape the city—somewhere far away where even Victor couldn’t track them. She wished she could convince him to stop, but she knew if she tried, he wouldn’t hesitate to hurt her. He was as heartless as his father.Moments later, while Victor and Jessica were conversing, Victor’s phone began to ring. He shifted his gaze, picked it up from the side of the table, and answered the call.“Hello, who am I speaking with?” Victor asked first, his

  • Chapter 299: Hate of envy

“Yes, of course, you have to be surprised, because that stupid daughter of yours has never brought anything good to this family except pain and disappointment; she deserves nothing but a brutal death, since that's the path she has chosen,” Victor added, his fist clenched and his stare locking with Jessica.“Shut up your mouth, you foolish boy, are you speaking this because you hate Sophia or what? How do you know she snitched on us? Neither had a hand in Father’s death?” Jessica pressed, searching for something tangible to believe in what Victor had said.Jessica knew that Victor had always despised Sophia and would do anything to keep her away from anything that involved him. Victor sighed deeply, pushing his hands below a Conner, and brought out the device he had retrieved from Sophia, capable of taking incoming calls and recording them.He raised it to Jessica's sight, shook it before speaking. “This is the reason I knew all that I was telling you, so don't think I was blabbing or

  • Chapter 298: Claiming What Is Mine.

“Sir, that's all the bad news I have. I'm sorry, but that's…”Before Derick could finish what he was saying, Nathan raised his hands into the air and signaled for him to be quiet, which meant he was tired of what he wanted to say, and it was advisable not to say more. "It's okay," Nathan finally spoke after the long silence from Derick. He then gently dropped his hands to the ground. "The most important part is that she'll be fine, right? I don't care if she doesn't remember who I am or remember anything that has happened. All that matters now is that I will see her talk and smile again." Nathan smiled, then walked close to Sophia and sagged onto the bed she was lying on. He took her hand and squeezed it gently, staring into her pretty face. Sophia breathed warm and shallow; Nathan swore she smiled, as if caught in a dream. But it's all hallucination, his brain tricking him to believe his desires.Nathan smiled back, even though he knew the smile from her wasn't real, then leaned fo

  • Chapter 297: Sophia's condition

Earlier, Jordan had explained the situation to Nathan about the chemical Valtor stole from the police headquarters, containing valuable information, with high-class scientific research involving the Red Monac and the secret creation, about the core, and a lot more that could create weapons beyond Imagination that could take Nathan down. Because of how deadly this information was, and when it was found, the police had been forced to conceal it in a high-security basement where countless security systems were placed, making it impossible for any intruder to break through, but Valtor somehow made his way through and got it.Jordan further explained that the cells in that chemical could literally kill anything, and this process works slowly. With this, Nathan knew for certain that Sophia would die, and he couldn't do anything to stop it. Grief piled inside him, the pain evident on his face, the pain of losing someone he loved. Even though she was his enemy before, he couldn't shove the
