Chapter 5

Jael took steps into the dark forest.

The forest was creepy and dim.

The sun was setting and the sun reddish rays was blocked by the leaves of some tall trees.

It was hard to see what laid beyond.

Jael took a deep breath before readying himself to go into the forest.

He wanted to get things over with.

His grandmother was still in the hospital. He can't wait time here.

Jael turned to look at the luxurious mansion behind him one last time.

Thankfully, he had blood gems now.

He would be able to exchange gems at the rate of a billion dollars to one gem.

He was not going to be among the poor and destitute anymore.

If he didn't have the ability to get money if he wanted too, he would have considered taking some of Yom's belongings to pawn.

Thankfully, it hadn't reached that stage.

[Ding! Do you want to consume the experience orbs?]

Jael raised a brow.

The system seemed to be aware of all his thoughts. It could clearly feel his intentions to enter the creepy forest that defended Yom's mansion.

'Why? What does an experience orbs do?'

The system didn't waste time before a reply came.

[Ding! An experience orb contains muscle memories of how to battle. Going into the forest like this would be foolish. You would kill yourself for nothing.]

The system didn't pass up the chance to ridicule Jael.

'Nobody is fighting with you. Why must you be aggressive? You always want to insult me and my mentality.' Jael spoke to the system mentally.

Silence reigned.

For some reason, Jael felt that if the system had an human body, it would have rolled its eyes.

[Ding! Host needs surveillance. I can't let you get too cocky. I promised to make you the most powerful man alive, not the first person to die from their stupidity.]

Jael gave up.

This system would not give up the chance to put him down.

His lips curved.

His life would be more interesting with this strict system by his side.

'Use the experience orbs.' Jael instructed.

The system didn't reply.

For a brief second, Jael wanted to ask if the system was still there.

His worries was unfounded though.

Scenes began to play in his mind.

He could see someone fighting in the living image.

Jael could not see the person's face but the person felt familiar.

He was confused.

He was sure that he had not encountered a powerful man like the one fighting in the mental scene playing in his head.

The moves the man used seemed to be I grained in his body and memory.

Jael began to imitate the same moves the man in the scene did unconsciously.

He repeated the moves numerous times.

Soon, Jael snapped out of that trance-like state.

He felt more confident now.

Jael entered the forest cautiously.

His new found strength didn't make him complacent.

There was many ways a man cam die and like the system said, he didn't want to die from stupidity or foolishness.

It never hurt to be careful.

Besides, he didn't know the powers those beastly sentries command.

Being smug would do more harm than good.

Jael continued walking in a straight line.

He was sure that if he went in one direction without leaving the route, he would get out soon.

When Will was bringing the youths to Yom, Jael didn't know if the car passed through the forest.

The car didn't shake on their journey so Jael could not judge through experiences.

Even if they did not pass through the forest, he didn't know where the car passed.

The only way out that he can see was this dreary forest.

He did not know if Yom had a private teleportation array.

Even if Yom had one somewhere,Jael didn't know how to activate a teleportation array. It would be a useless find.

The leaves and branches rustle.

Jael stopped and observed his surroundings.

His body had be modified by his system so he could see what normal human can not notice.

Still, he didn't notice anything.

He resumed his trek.

The leaves rustles again and before Jael could observe his surroundings again, a white paw appeared out of nowhere.

The huge paw hit his side and Jael was forced to take numerous steps back.

His back hit a tree.

The rough back chilled his body even with clothes on.

His body had improved.

The slight pain he felt when the paw hit him had faded away.

Jael was grateful that he got his ability and system before attempting to escape.

This forest would have been his graveyard if he came here with a normal human body.

Jael stood up and stared at his attacker.

It was an ape.

The ape was big and its body was white.

The only place that was a different color was the ape's chest and stomach. That area was a bloody red.

It was like the ape was oozing blood from that area.

The ape had red pupils that stared straight at Jael like he had eaten the ape's relative.

Spittle dripped from huge fangs that seemed too big for the ape's mouth.

"Human, you have trespassed." The ape growled.

Harsh breathes came out of the ape's nostrils.

'System, I would ask about the trivialities and details of the bloodlines later. Is there any bloodline that would give me claws among the ones I have in store?'

[Ding! Yes. There is a Wolf King Bloodline and A Prowling Wind Lion Bloodline available. The rest won't give you claws.]

'These ones are already enough. Activate the Prowling Wind Lion Bloodline.' Jael ordered.

[Prowling Wind Lion Bloodline activated.]

The ape was stronger than Jael had imagined.

He was not willing to fight the ape barehanded. It was better to use on bloodline to augment his powers.

Jael smiled at the ape.

"I wanted to trespass." His words was said in a provocative manner.

The ape had intelligence and it understood what Jael was trying to convey perfectly.

The ape growled in anger before launching itself at Jael.

Jael felt his body changing.

His nails gave way to sturdier claws.

Fur grew on the surface of his body.

An unseen wind seemed to cause his fur to move.

It was the Prowling Wind Lion's innate ability at work.

His teeth elongated.

Jael roared to the heavens before meeting his opponent in a clash.

It was time to show this dumb ape who's boss.
