"Are you sure you can handle who I am?" Elijah inquired, a look of ridicule on his face.

No sooner had he finished speaking than a hundred bodyguards appeared from inside the mansion, led by the butler.

Each carried an electric baton and had the physique of professional fighters.

All the Blackwood bodyguards were well trained, and taking on threats had never been a problem for them.

"That's the insolent brat who injured Mr. Mason. Deal with him right now—don't hold back!" The Butler ordered in a stern voice.

Elijah's eyes fell on Aunt Lena and he told her, "Leave quickly. Don't wait..."

There was something about the man's gaze that made her shiver.

She quickly took Mia's hand and they ran for the gate.

"Who told you to leave? Stop them!" The patriarch shouted, his tone furious.

The bodyguards split into groups, and one squad went straight after the two who were escaping.

What they didn't expect was Elijah moving quickly and throwing a heavy punch at them.

"You!" Serena jumped to her feet and quickly threw on a long overcoat. Her face was as red as a ripe apple as she shouted at him, "Get out. Now!"He hadn't expected to see her that way and had only barged in because of the faint scent of blood in the air."It's not what you think," Elijah raised his hand in defense, thinking of the best explanation to give. She definitely wouldn't believe him if he told her why he had really entered her room."What I think? You are not allowed in my room, didn't I warn you..." Serena looked like she could beat him up at that moment."You didn't lock your door well. I was worried about your leg..."That was a sensible explanation, right? She snorted and sat on the bed. "Worried, huh? Aren't you worried the Lancasters will take revenge on you?""If they disrespect my wife, I'll do it again," Elijah told her firmly, and this made her face flush even brighter. How could he casually pretend to be brazen? He was really thick-skinned."Don't even think yo

".......this is all I know. It's all I really know." The patriarch of the Blackwood finished explaining to Elijah, and the eyes of his grandchildren wandered around. They had just listened to the old man narrate how they came to be one of the five great families in Brooklyn Heights by destroying the name of the Langstons.Just like the other great families, the Lancasters had their parts to play too but had lived off the benefits for years."I guess all you needed was a little motivation...." Elijah pulled a golden needle from behind the old man's spine and his body became paralyzed again. He could no longer speak or move a muscle, just like the other members of his family who had also breathed in the incapacitant from the vent.He dropped the bag containing the licenses on the table and said, "Seven days from now will mark the date when the Langstons were massacred fifteen years ago. The Lancasters must gather before the grave of the matriarch, buried on the outskirts of Brooklyn He

"Grandpa, I just called the Blackwoods and they deny responsibility for the attacks on our facilities. They only summoned the Shadowless Ghost Duo to deal with the brazen expert known as Elijah Langston."Another of the old man's grandchildren stood up to announce, "Grandpa, I just spoke with the patriarch of the Wexler family. They claim they are busy gathering the full strength of their recently purchased private security company to deal with the insolent bastard who crashed their birthday event last night. This is not their doing."Yet a third grandchild announced, "Father, I spoke with the matriarch of the Ainsworths. They are our allies and have always used their media to cover for us, they have no reason to start trouble. Moreover, they only have government security, not private experts capable of carrying out strategic attacks.""The Ainsworths can't be involved. I'm always in contact with them. They even helped me with a little thing yesterday..." Anthony Lancaster chirped in

“This is bullshit! Who dares to start a fight with our Lancaster family?” Andrew Lancaster’s body shook with rage as he said this. Only aristocratic and other great families might have the resources to start a fight with them. There had been no disagreement among the great families for fifteen years. Why would that change now?“Who are they? Who dares to burn down our research facilities? Do they want to die?” Anthony’s face was distorted as he spoke.Other members of the Lancasters joined in, speculating on who could be behind the attack, but none of their theories made any sense. No family in Brooklyn Heights would be that brazen.“Make the call to our facility in the Eastern District to double their production rate. As long as we have it running, we can meet all of our pending supplies and—” Anthony had barely finished speaking when a man in a security uniform stumbled into the room with his arm covered in fresh blood.“Master Anthony, I’m head of security for the Eastern Distric

When Serena arrived at the apartment, her relatives had already left, but her parents appeared to still be arguing about the matter. Rosalie sat to the side, scrolling through her device and choosing not to involve herself.“Sweet Serena, you are back? Is the matter solved now?” Margaret asked as she quickly moved to get up.Serena sighed in exhaustion and said, “I don't think Grandpa is ready to do anything. He asked me to go to bed.”“What?” Margaret's body shook with rage. “Does old age cause people to make wrong decisions? Not only has he forced you to marry that spineless idiot, he would watch our DiLaurentis family fall?”“Why do you have to jump to conclusions always? Master DiLaurentis has always watched this family—why would he—” Richard was trying to speak when he was quickly interrupted by his wife.“Did I ask you to speak? Let me tell you, that old man is making the wrong decision and it's up to our Serena to set things right,” Margaret said sternly.“Is our son-in-law al
