Jeremiah couldn’t understand why Adam’s body was there, on the floor, and burnt to a crisp.

Wasn’t he supposed to have escaped with Lynette before the explosion even took place?

And speaking of the explosion, wasn’t he supposed to have been the one who caused it so how come he got caught in it?

He wasn’t that stupid to cause an explosion without having a way to escape in time, right? Because it wouldn’t make any sense if he was that stupid, especially when he had to protect Lynette and take her back to his leader.

So many questions flooded Jeremiah’s head as he stared at Adam’s cremated corpse.

“Was I wrong and he wasn’t the one who caused the gas leakage and explosion?” Jeremiah asked himself as he looked carefully at Adam’s corpse, wanting to make sure that he wasn’t mistaking someone else for him.

Well, he wasn't making any mistakes, and that was Adam’s dead body lying on the floor in front of him.

“Was the leakage actually an accident and nothing sinister? But if that’s t

“Ram it through and go in!” Richard instructed, and Jason jolted. He didn’t expect Richard to suggest destruction of property as a way of entering the plant, but he understood that there was no other choice, seeing as how the guards were refusing to open the gate for them. Either that or something had happened, and they couldn’t open the gate for them, but at that moment it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that they had to get into the plant one way or another.“What are you waiting for?! Let’s do this!” Richard said sternly as he walked to the passenger side of the truck.“Got it!” Jason replied hurriedly, then he put on his helmet, ran to the driver's side of the truck, and then got in. Once Richard and Jason had secured themselves in their seats, Richard said “Floor it!” Without wasting a second, Jason ignited the engine and hit the gas, causing the truck to jolt forward and both firefighters inside to jerk backward. The fire truck rammed into the gate, forced it open, and

Jeremiah continued to walk closer, each step allowing the audience, who watched him, to get a better look at what he was carrying in his arms, and it got to a point where their expressions all turned grim. They saw smoke—albeit little— coming out of the body of the person in Jeremiah’s arms and before their minds could process it, they realized why they hadn’t been able to identify the person until then.It was because the person’s entire body was charred black, and before they could wrap their heads around that, they saw the person’s right-hand drop and start swinging lifelessly. With that, they no longer needed Jeremiah to get closer to know that he was carrying a burnt corpse, but the question they asked themselves now became; who was that person?Who did Jeremiah fail to save and was now carrying the burnt corpse of?Jeremiah finally made it to where all the firefighters, except Richard, were standing and as he walked through their middle, they all looked at the corpse in his arm

“What’s the matter, Corner?” Richard asked.“I was checking the area to gauge the scope of the explosion and I got to one side with a lot of debris, but after checking it out properly, I found something else. The debris had actually almost made me miss it” Corner said, panicked. Richard grimaced.“Almost made you miss what?” He asked.“Dead bodies. There were dead bodies scattered all over there, and they appear to have been the security guards who work here,” Corner said, and Richard, as well as the other firefighters who were listening, widened their eyes in shock. “What?!” Richard exclaimed. “Exactly what I said. All the guards who work here, or at least I think that’s all of them, are dead, and their bodies are all over the ground there” Corner said.“Dead?! Is that why they didn’t answer our horns and open the gate for us when we arrived? To be honest, I also found it kind of strange that the entire place was quiet, with not a single sighting of security, when we drove in” Jas

[“What was that?”] Steven asked, puzzled by the loud sound he had just heard through the communicator, unaware that it was David expressing his shock at Jeremiah’s survival.“It was Sir David. He was the one who wanted to know if we were able to find Young Master Jeremiah or not” the guard replied then he looked at David.“Sir, would you like to speak with the captain and ask further questions?”David, who didn’t want to raise suspicions that he was the one responsible for the explosion, cleared his throat and comported himself.“No, I don’t,” David said then he rested his back on the chair, looked out the window at everything they were driving past, and crossed his arms, doing his best to hide his dissatisfaction.Steven, puzzled by David’s curiosity about whether they had found Jeremiah inside the plant yet strangely uninterested after learning that Jeremiah was alive, groaned into the communicator. It was kind of suspicious that all he wanted to know was if Jeremiah was alive or no

All the maids, who were already taken aback that Jeremiah had a burnt corpse in his arms, couldn’t believe what they just heard one of their fellow maids say.At the same time, because the one who had spoken was Joyce, Lynette’s roommate, there was a lot of weight to her words, and that made them think that she was right. If there was anyone amongst them who knew for certain that the burnt corpse in front of them was Lynette then it had to be her.It also didn’t help that Lynette had been missing since the explosion at the welcome ceremony so though they didn’t want to believe it to be true, they weren’t being given much of a choice not to.“Joyce, try and calm down a little”“Are you sure what you’re saying is true?”“Yes. I wouldn’t make such a mistake” Joyce replied, sniffling in despair.“But how did you know that’s Lynette?” One of the maids asked. “Yeah, the entire body is charred and unrecognizable so maybe you’re mistaken”The maids, who saw how hurt Joyce had become, tried t

“The members of Dark Emblem did this,” Jeremiah said, assuming that Kingston had caught Elizabeth up on what DarK Emblem did on the estate. From causing the explosion at the welcome ceremony to kidnapping David.None of them had known that Dark Emblem had also kidnapped Lynette except for Jeremiah, but the fact was obvious now. Elizabeth’s eyes fidgeted when she heard that.“What did those despicable people have to do with her of all people?!” Elizabeth asked, angry but also feeling despair.Jeremiah, who was the only one who knew the truth about Lynnette being the “The Bride” they were looking for decided to keep that to himself for now.He felt like he had to tell Reginald and Obadiah first before telling anyone else.“She was at the location I found them and while trying to escape a fire broke out that caused the entire place to blow up. This is the result of that” Jeremiah said as he looked at the bed. “And what happened to the Dark Emblem guys?” Elizabeth asked and Kingston, wh

Jeremiah, Kingston, and Steven went to Reginald’s study while Elizabeth went back into Jeremiah’s room to spend some more time with Lynette’s corpse.Since the body would most definitely be kept in Jeremiah’s room until the funeral tomorrow, this was going to be her only moment of privacy with her former protégé. Though it would be a one-sided conversation, as Lynette could talk back, Elizabeth was going to say everything she had in her chest and hopefully feel at ease with losing someone she cared about so soon.A couple of minutes later, after finally being at peace with Lynette’s passing, Christabel came to the room and she too got her chance to say goodbye to her friend and fellow protégé.After that, Christabel and Elizabeth reminisced on past moments they and Lynette spent together when she was alive and the experience made the remaining two form a stronger bond than what they had before.Just then, the room door was knocked. “Who is it?” Christabel asked after Elizabeth used

Once inside the study, the first thing Jeremiah did was pause and groan when he saw David standing in front of the desk. Kingston, who was just as surprised as Jeremiah at the sight of David, jolted and asked “Sir David, you’re already here?”“Yes, he is. Truthfully, even I was surprised when he arrived before you two did, but for some reason, he seemed eager to have the meeting which I guess is a good thing because I have so much to ask him” Reginald said.David, who was trying his best to keep his cool and act normal, turned to Reginald and smiled. “I just wanted to tell Uncle what happened because I know how worried he was about my disappearance and maybe that will calm his mind a little,” David said.Reginald, who didn’t know the young man’s true motive and believed his words, smiled. He took David’s feigned concern for him as a sign of David changing and attributed it to the punishment he gave him working. Speaking of the punishment, what was going to happen now that the guard

One week later, Jeremiah leaned back against a cherry-red and gold Bugatti Veyron, the glint of the city lights dancing along its sleek curves. He glanced at the time on his wristwatch, a sly smile creeping across his face as the apartment door opened. He looked up.And there she was.Victoria emerged in a stunning midnight-blue dress that shimmered with every step. Her curls bounced as she descended the stairs, and Jeremiah couldn’t help but admire the moment like it was a scene from a movie.“Hurry up, we’re going to be late,” he said, a playful edge in his voice.“I’m coming!” she replied, hurrying her pace before she reached him—and planted a kiss on his lips that made the world pause for a second.“When’s he popping the question again?” she asked, at the same time telling him that maybe he was r

“The Leader?” Jeremiah asked with a grimace, the name tasting like ash on his tongue.“That’s right,” the being declared, his voice echoing like a god’s judgment through the twisted air. “I *am* the Leader—and this is my dimension. Here, I rule as supreme.”Jeremiah’s eyes narrowed. “And that name you called me—Bazar’q Omàrin? Why?”The Leader tilted his head slightly, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. “Because that is your name. Not this watered-down nonsense—Crimson, Jeremiah—names handed to you by humans who never knew your truth. You were Bazar’q Omàrin, once the high sovereign of the mighty Oxyl Dimension... until it all turned to ash.”Jeremiah’s fists clenched as a dull pain throbbed in his temples. “And how do you know that? How do you know *me*?”The Leader's grin stretched, eyes flickering with malevolence. “Because, you banished me to hell!”With that roar of hatred, he surged forward in a blur, his fist crashing into Jeremiah’s ribs with the force of a meteor. • CHAPTER 333

‘Where is he? The one who started all of this?’ Jeremiah’s thoughts were a storm as he tore through the sky in a vicious, high-speed duel against the nine-winged skeletal wyvern. His golden eyes flicked through the blood-red horizon, desperate to catch even a glimpse of Grey Lucian. Since the chaos began, Grey had vanished—eerily absent. The longer Jeremiah failed to find him, the more unease spread like rot in his gut.But the demonic wyvern wasn’t giving him the luxury of distraction.Every flap of the beast’s bony, mana-wrought wings whipped up cyclones of cursed wind. Each strike came fast, lethal, and relentless. Dodging them required all of Jeremiah’s focus—there was no room for error, no space to think about Grey, or even the cultists scattered across the battlefield, who were clearly summoning something catastrophic. The thick, malevolent mana surging from their positions felt like an omen of ruin. For just one heartbeat, Jeremiah’s mind slipped—and it was one too many. The w

The battlefield plunged into eerie silence. Even the screaming winds beneath the dome seemed to hold their breath.Jeremiah stood at the center of it all, his dragonoid form casting a monumental silhouette against the warped sky. His scales shimmered with hues of black, red, and gold, glowing like molten metal in the dome’s unnatural twilight. Wings unfurled behind him like the banners of a god of war, stretching high and wide, stirring the air with every twitch.Mages, scattered across the estate in strategic lines, froze. The resurrection magic that had reanimated their fallen held no expression, no breath—just cold bodies awaiting orders. All of them stared at him, at the beast who had tanked a god-killing spell and still stood.Jeremiah’s molten eyes locked onto the mages who had conjured the lightning-fire hybrid spell. There was no mercy in his gaze. Only retribution. He leapt forward. The impact of his takeoff split the ground behind him, sending fragments of earth skyward and

  • CHAPTER 331

The sky darkened unnaturally, casting an eerie twilight over the estate. Jeremiah looked up as the last arc of shadow joined with the rest, sealing them inside a massive black dome. It shimmered with power, humming low like a monstrous heartbeat. The siege had begun. He turned to Lynette. “It’s begun.”“Yes,” she said quietly, eyes locked on the sky. “It has.”Jeremiah glanced down at the box in his hand. Obadiah’s head, expression frozen in death, stared back at him. The man had been a teacher, a guide, a rock of wisdom. And now he was gone. Murdered.“I’m sorry this happened to you, teacher,” Jeremiah murmured, his voice a low promise. “But on your behalf, I’ll make those fuckers pay.”With grim reverence, he set the box down. Then he and Lynette walked toward the convoy, where confusion had begun to blossom into panic.A chorus of murmurs rose as everyone saw the sky had changed. The dome wasn’t just a covering — it was alive. Pulsing. Feeding something.“What the hell is this?” th

[“How? The gate is—“] the driver of the first car asked but went silent to his surprise the gate suddenly opened. [“But how?!”] the driver asked in a panic.Jeremiah had used wordless magic to unlock and open the gate.[“Don’t worry about it and just keep driving”] Steven interjected, stopping the driver beside him from thinking too much into what happened.Because this security detail was provided by the city of Bakers View and not of the Garrick Royal estate, they didn’t know about Jeremiah’s real identity as Lord Crimson or that magic existed. That was why Steven stopped the driver beside him from asking questions and just moved things along. [“Okay, Captain”] the driver reluctantly said and then hit the gas, leading the cars into the estate. All the while, the third car which hadn’t been connected through the channel didn’t know what was really going on. Second after second, the cars got closer to Jeremiah’s house and when they got there everything looked perfectly fine, surpr

Jeremiah weighed his options and came to a final decision on which path to take. “We should go back” he declared. “Go back? As in back to the house?” Reginald asked, an intrigued look on his face.“Yes, back to the house” Jeremiah replied matter-of-factly.“Why?” Reginald inquired.“Though I wish you weren’t here, I honestly feel better with you or should I say Lynette by my side rather than elsewhere where y’all can be attacked by who knows how many enemies, and she, for whatever reason, dies because remember, a single temporary death from hers means you’re gone, forever,” Jeremiah said and Reginald groaned as he reflected on every word.“Alright then. I guess we’re going back” Reginald replied. He then looked at the driver and said “Tell the front car that we’re going back to the apartment”“As you wish, Your Majesty” the driver replied, clearly not on board with the decision because he had picked up on signs of there being a problem and would prefer if they left the city— meanin

Obadiah chuckled.[“I think you underestimate me, young master. But, if you want to know then I found it because of the relic I gave you. You know the one that lets us communicate? Well, you’re able to track the other twin if you have your hand on one and know the right spell”]Jeremiah groaned.“You didn’t tell me it could do that,” he said.[“I apologize, young master. It must have skipped my mind”]“Is that so? Alright then. I’ll head back to the house with Dad and everyone else” Jeremiah said.[“That’ll be great, young master. I’ll be waiting for all four of you”] Jeremiah groaned. “Alright then. Bye,” he said and then ended the call. Looking at him, Reginald asked “So we’re going back to your house to speak with the shaman? I wonder what he wants to talk to us about”“Nothing. He doesn’t want to speak to us about anything” Jeremiah said as he stuffed his phone into his pocket while Reginald grimaced.“He doesn’t? How do you know that?” Reginald asked. I came to this city to spend time with Jeremiah and I haven’t even done that. If we travel back so quickly it would mean that this trip was a complete letdown.” She said. Kingston groaned.“So what do you want to do, Lady Lynette?” Kingston asked “Being the young master’s fiancé, you’re just as influential as he is to those who know the truth. So much so that the artificial intelligence back at the house obeyed your instruction when it wouldn’t have for anyone else besides the young master” Lynette groaned, reflecting on Kingston’s question that asked her what she wanted to do.“Since you’ve already linked yourself and Master Reginald together, you’ve basically protected him from all forms of harm for the next thirty-nine years, so you don’t have to follow us back home if you don’t want to.
