Jeremiah met up with Obadiah at the greenhouse— the usual location for magic affairs— and they started his training program.

The shaman started off with the basis— what was magic and how to turn mana into it.

The explanation was very in-depth and thanks to Jeremiah being very intelligent, he was able to understand concepts he was just hearing for the first time.

That made Obadiah happy because it meant that he would be able to teach Jeremiah a lot of things by the end of the day.

Next, the shaman taught Jeremiah how to control his mana as that was the first step to performing magic. This was the first practical lesson they had so it wasn’t going to be as easy as the theoretical lesson.

It took Jeremiah a couple of hours trying to get it down, but in the end he was able to successfully get his mana control down and now was ready to start doing magic.

“You did great, young master” Obadiah said with a proud smile.

“It’s all thanks to you, teacher” Jeremiah replied.

“Now it’s time to te

Jeremiah looked around for a pebble he could use to do the Imprint spell and soon enough he found one.It was the same size and nearly the same shape as the one Obadiah had used in his earlier example— which he had purposely chosen because he didn’t want an excuse for why he failed the spell to be because of something as silly as the build of the pebble. He walked over to where it was and picked it up.Seeing the pebble from the distance, Obadiah said “That’s a good one, young master.”“Thank you, teacher” Jeremiah smirked and then returned to where he used to stand— at which time Obadiah had already found another pebble to use and teach Jeremiah the spell properly.“Do you remember the spell I used to make the imprint, young master?” Obadiah asked. Jeremiah shook his head.“Sorry, teacher. I was confused about what you were doing so I didn’t pay attention until it was too late. Please show me again” He said bashfully.Obadiah smiled.“It’s fine, young master. That’s what I’m here fo

Obadiah couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed.Did Jeremiah really just cast a spell without reciting the words? Which in the world of magic was known as a wordless spell. For years, mages had made fun of movies, shows, and books for inventing the idea of wordless spells because to them it was impossible to achieve the feeling necessary for casting a particular spell without reciting first the words. It was as if a mage’s body—capable of performing a feat as inconceivable as magic—was still limited by the need for words to activate it.So, for Jeremiah, a complete novice, to be able to accomplish what every other mage in the history of mankind couldn’t made Obadiah feel like it was a dream."Obadiah quickly walked up to Jeremiah to get a closer look while the young master went down to pick up the pebble he had just imprinted on. Do it again, young master," Obadiah said, wanting Jeremiah to drop the pebble once more so he could see up close whether the spell had truly worked or

Jeremiah repeated the imprint spell wordlessly, making sure he imprinted squishiness to the pebble in his hand.Watching closely, Obadiah observed that there was no ounce of mana spoilage, as expected, showing how much Jeremiah had grown as a mage in just the span of an hour.In fact, Jeremiah had improved so much so quickly that the shaman couldn’t help but feel amazed— making him wonder if Jeremiah was the fastest mage to learn and improve their magic in the history of mankind.Jeremiah finally finished the spell with a calm exhale. “Alright, young master. Let’s see if it worked” Obadiah said. Jeremiah nodded then raised the pebble to a good height— holding it between his thumb and index fingers just as how Obadiah had done before— then he gently applied pressure.Without putting up a fight, the pebble compressed into itself and a proud smirk appeared on Jeremiah’s lips. “Congratulations, young master, you’ve mastered the basic form of the imprint spell.” Obadiah said. The point

Once they got to the castle, the first person Jeremiah saw was Christabel.“Young master!” The maid bowed her head. The memo about Jeremiah not wanting to be called “My Lord” or “Lord Crimson” when spoken to had passed around the estate, so everyone who saw him addressed him as “Young Master”“How was your training?” Christabel asked.“It was fine. Finished a lot sooner than expected” Jeremiah replied as Christabel quickly greeted Obadiah who was right beside him. “That’s great to hear. You really must be an excellent learner” Christabel smiled and Jeremiah, who always appreciated the compliment, chuckled. “What were you about to do?” He asked her. “Nothing at all. I was just walking around, hoping that I would run into you” she blushed.Jeremiah raised a curious brow.“Any reason why you wanted to run into me?” He asked, still oblivious to her feelings towards him. Jeremiah had thought that the interest Christabel showed him when they first met was a result of Headmaid Elizabeth

A couple of minutes later, Jeremiah was standing in front of his father’s bedroom door.He took a deep breath and sighed— preparing himself for what he was about to say to his father because he knew just how heartbroken the king would be.When he was ready, he knocked.“Dad, it's me,” Jeremiah said, not waiting to be asked who was knocking on the door.“Come on in, son. The door is open” Reginald said excitedly. This was the first time his son was visiting him in his chambers as the last time he was there was after barely surviving a bomb blast to the chest. So, it was every reason to be happy. Jeremiah, who felt bad about his father’s excitement, opened the door.“How’s it going, son?” Reginald asked as Jeremiah entered the room. “Everything is alright, Dad. I just wanted to talk to you about something” Jeremiah replied as he closed the door and walked over to the couch where Reginald was seated. The curious king groaned.“No problem son. But first, please take a seat” Reginald sa

Also waiting for him were Reginald, Kingston, Elizabeth, and her protégé, Christabel, who all stood close to the cars.“Young master” Kingston, Elizabeth, and Christabel greeted. “Good morning, guys” Jeremiah greeted as he and Lynette walked down the steps.“What’s all this?” Jeremiah asked— staring at the convoy of cars and all the guards standing by them.“Are you planning on going somewhere, Dad?” Jeremiah asked Reginald. The king chuckled. “No I’m not and they are not here for me”“They’re not? Who are they here for then?” Jeremiah grimaced.“They are here for you,” Reginald said and Jeremiah’s eyes widened “They will be taking you to the college since you’ll be representing me”Jeremiah looked at the convoy and serious-looking guards once more and he groaned.“Is anything the matter, son?” The king asked— his eyebrows furrowed with confusion. The drive continued, going through the college until they arrived at the Chancellor’s office which surprised Jeremiah because he didn’t know that was their destination. He had questions as to what they were doing there. However, seeing some people already waiting outside for them made him realize why they had gone there. The people in question were the Chancellor, the vice-chancellor, and the chancellor’s secretary. Steven came out of the car and opened the back door for Lynette while Jeremiah got off his motorcycle and went to join them. Because of who had more power and authority in that gathering, the Chancellor and his people hurriedly approached Jeremiah and his and bowed their heads.“You must be the king’s son, young master Jeremiah” the chancellor greeted Jeremiah.“Yes, I am. Thank you and you can raise your heads now” Jeremiah said and the three did just that. The announcer/host took the stage and welcomed the important members of the faculty like the chancellor, vice chancellor, professors, and some lecturers. On one side of the Arena were members of the Student Union and the announcer greeted them too— giving a special shout-out to the Student Union President who was celebrated for being the best president so far. Once he had greeted everyone he wanted to from the school, the announcer gestured in the direction of the ultra VIP section where Jeremiah was and he said “Everyone, please give a round of applause for the future King of Crimson Fall, Master Jeremiah Garrick!”Immediately, everyone faced the ultra VIP section with widened eyes and looks of utter shock. One week later, Jeremiah leaned back against a cherry-red and gold Bugatti Veyron, the glint of the city lights dancing along its sleek curves. His tailored obsidian suit clung perfectly to his frame, his silver tie fluttering slightly in the evening breeze. The engine purred beneath the hood like a beast waiting to be unleashed. He glanced at the time on his wristwatch, a sly smile creeping across his face as the apartment door opened. He looked up.And there she was.Victoria emerged in a stunning midnight-blue dress that shimmered with every step. Her curls bounced as she descended the stairs, and Jeremiah couldn’t help but admire the moment like it was a scene from a movie.“Hurry up, we’re going to be late,” he said, a playful edge in his voice.“I’m coming!” she replied, hurrying her pace before she reached him—and planted a kiss on his lips that made the world pause for a second.“When’s he popping the question again?” she asked, at the same time telling him that maybe he was r

“The Leader?” Jeremiah asked with a grimace, the name tasting like ash on his tongue.“That’s right,” the being declared, his voice echoing like a god’s judgment through the twisted air. “I *am* the Leader—and this is my dimension. Here, I rule as supreme.”Jeremiah’s eyes narrowed. “And that name you called me—Bazar’q Omàrin? Why?”The Leader tilted his head slightly, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. “Because that is your name. Not this watered-down nonsense—Crimson, Jeremiah—names handed to you by humans who never knew your truth. You were Bazar’q Omàrin, once the high sovereign of the mighty Oxyl Dimension... until it all turned to ash.”Jeremiah’s fists clenched as a dull pain throbbed in his temples. “And how do you know that? How do you know *me*?”The Leader's grin stretched, eyes flickering with malevolence. “Because, you banished me to hell!”With that roar of hatred, he surged forward in a blur, his fist crashing into Jeremiah’s ribs with the force of a meteor. ‘Where is he? The one who started all of this?’ Jeremiah’s thoughts were a storm as he tore through the sky in a vicious, high-speed duel against the nine-winged skeletal wyvern. His golden eyes flicked through the blood-red horizon, desperate to catch even a glimpse of Grey Lucian. Since the chaos began, Grey had vanished—eerily absent. The longer Jeremiah failed to find him, the more unease spread like rot in his gut.But the demonic wyvern wasn’t giving him the luxury of distraction.Every flap of the beast’s bony, mana-wrought wings whipped up cyclones of cursed wind. Each strike came fast, lethal, and relentless. Dodging them required all of Jeremiah’s focus—there was no room for error, no space to think about Grey, or even the cultists scattered across the battlefield, who were clearly summoning something catastrophic. The thick, malevolent mana surging from their positions felt like an omen of ruin. For just one heartbeat, Jeremiah’s mind slipped—and it was one too many. The w

The battlefield plunged into eerie silence. Even the screaming winds beneath the dome seemed to hold their breath. Jeremiah stood at the center of it all, his dragonoid form casting a monumental silhouette against the warped sky. His scales shimmered with hues of black, red, and gold, glowing like molten metal in the dome’s unnatural twilight. Wings unfurled behind him like the banners of a god of war, stretching high and wide, stirring the air with every twitch. Mages, scattered across the estate in strategic lines, froze. The resurrection magic that had reanimated their fallen held no expression, no breath—just cold bodies awaiting orders. All of them stared at him, at the beast who had tanked a god-killing spell and still stood. Jeremiah’s molten eyes locked onto the mages who had conjured the lightning-fire hybrid spell. There was no mercy in his gaze. Only retribution. He leapt forward. The impact of his takeoff split the ground behind him, sending fragments of earth sky

The sky darkened unnaturally, casting an eerie twilight over the estate. Jeremiah looked up as the last arc of shadow joined with the rest, sealing them inside a massive black dome. It shimmered with power, humming low like a monstrous heartbeat. The siege had begun. He turned to Lynette. “It’s begun.”“Yes,” she said quietly, eyes locked on the sky. “It has.”Jeremiah glanced down at the box in his hand. Obadiah’s head, expression frozen in death, stared back at him. The man had been a teacher, a guide, a rock of wisdom. And now he was gone. Murdered.“I’m sorry this happened to you, teacher,” Jeremiah murmured, his voice a low promise. “But on your behalf, I’ll make those fuckers pay.”With grim reverence, he set the box down. Then he and Lynette walked toward the convoy, where confusion had begun to blossom into panic.A chorus of murmurs rose as everyone saw the sky had changed. The dome wasn’t just a covering — it was alive. Pulsing. Feeding something.“What the hell is this?” th

[“How? The gate is—“] the driver of the first car asked but went silent to his surprise the gate suddenly opened. [“But how?!”] the driver asked in a panic.Jeremiah had used wordless magic to unlock and open the gate.[“Don’t worry about it and just keep driving”] Steven interjected, stopping the driver beside him from thinking too much into what happened.Because this security detail was provided by the city of Bakers View and not of the Garrick Royal estate, they didn’t know about Jeremiah’s real identity as Lord Crimson or that magic existed. That was why Steven stopped the driver beside him from asking questions and just moved things along. [“Okay, Captain”] the driver reluctantly said and then hit the gas, leading the cars into the estate. All the while, the third car which hadn’t been connected through the channel didn’t know what was really going on. Second after second, the cars got closer to Jeremiah’s house and when they got there everything looked perfectly fine, surpr

As in back to the house?” Reginald asked, an intrigued look on his face.“Yes, back to the house” Jeremiah replied matter-of-factly.“Why?” Reginald inquired.“Though I wish you weren’t here, I honestly feel better with you or should I say Lynette by my side rather than elsewhere where y’all can be attacked by who knows how many enemies, and she, for whatever reason, dies because remember, a single temporary death from hers means you’re gone, forever,” Jeremiah said and Reginald groaned as he reflected on every word.“Alright then. I guess we’re going back” Reginald replied. He then looked at the driver and said “Tell the front car that we’re going back to the apartment”“As you wish, Your Majesty” the driver replied, clearly not on board with the decision because he had picked up on signs of there being a problem and would prefer if they left the city— meanin

It must have skipped my mind”] “Is that so? Alright then. I’ll head back to the house with Dad and everyone else” Jeremiah said. [“That’ll be great, young master. I’ll be waiting for all four of you”] Jeremiah groaned. “Alright then. Bye,” he said and then ended the call. Looking at him, Reginald asked “So we’re going back to your house to speak with the shaman? I wonder what he wants to talk to us about” “Nothing. He doesn’t want to speak to us about anything” Jeremiah said as he stuffed his phone into his pocket while Reginald grimaced. “He doesn’t? How do you know that?” Reginald asked. W

I came to this city to spend time with Jeremiah and I haven’t even done that. If we travel back so quickly it would mean that this trip was a complete letdown.” She said. Kingston groaned.“So what do you want to do, Lady Lynette?” Kingston asked “Being the young master’s fiancé, you’re just as influential as he is to those who know the truth. So much so that the artificial intelligence back at the house obeyed your instruction when it wouldn’t have for anyone else besides the young master” Lynette groaned, reflecting on Kingston’s question that asked her what she wanted to do.“Since you’ve already linked yourself and Master Reginald together, you’ve basically protected him from all forms of harm for the next thirty-nine years, so you don’t have to follow us back home if you don’t want to.
