Chapter 2: Ultimate Programmer

“Hmmm… among the three Ultimate Talents, which one can help me in the long run and earn me money as soon as possible?”

Adam Spencer questioned himself as he pondered over the three Ultimate Talents that were presented by the Ultimate Talent System.

“Being an assassin and thief is too risky. I know that I won’t get caught since they are Ultimate Talents, the best of the best. But I would have to enter the dark web if I want to get a target for assassination.”

“Life would be too thrilling if I follow Brother Lupin’s footsteps and become the world’s number 1 thief.”

With those being said, Adam Spencer chose the Ultimate Programmer talent over the Ultimate Assassin and Ultimate Thief talents.

-Ding!

[Ultimate Talent gained successfully!]

[Talent: Ultimate Programmer]

[Description: A programmer who never suffers from bugs, etc. All codes written are flawless. Can use all computer languages and even create your own computer language.]

[Characteristic: Loyal Sentient AI]

“Sentient AI? A loyal one at that?!”

“Even the current technology level can’t achieve that!”

Adam read the description and characteristics of the Ultimate Programmer talent and it made him start to feel that it was too absurd!

“Sure enough, I didn’t choose the wrong Ultimate Talent!’

Adam exclaimed in excitement as he discovered that the Ultimate Talent System wasn’t just his hallucination but it was real!

After all, he had already received knowledge and experience about everything related to programming! Even he could now easily create sentient AIs if he ever wanted to!

“With this talent, I can earn money in many ways. But the easiest and fastest way is through stock trading and cryptocurrency trading. To achieve that, I need to create an AI specializing in that field.”

It was at this time that Adam realized how much of a BUG-like existence his Ultimate Programmer talent was.

If he wanted to, he could create a sentient AI who could learn through time. He could easily create a group of AIs specializing in different fields such as medicine, engineering, trading, hacking, etc.

“But first, I need to focus on creating the strongest AI that I can develop. If the government and other secret organizations found out about my Ultimate-level programming skills, I will be caught up in their power struggle which I don’t want to happen.”

“At least, not until I have enough Ultimate Talents related to combat which can allow me to protect myself and my family.”

Adam muttered to himself as he already drafted his future plans. He might not be the smartest guy in town, but he was definitely not dumb.

Other idiots who obtained the Ultimate Programmer talent would be bragging about it and then joining the government. But Adam knew the best way for a nobody like him to have a chance to rise in status was to do this as secretive as possible.

If those at the top knew how talented he was, he would be reduced to their lapdog. And as someone who already experienced that in school, he didn’t want to experience it in society as well.

With that in mind, Adam stood up from his bed and went to his desk. Turning on the power of his desktop, he immediately started typing on the keyboard to create his very own computer language.

Yes, he didn’t immediately develop a sentient AI but a unique computer language first.

Adam knew that with the current computer language, they were too limited and restrictive on the development of sentient AI. So, he could only resort to creating his own computer language.

In just half an hour, Adam finally developed his own computer language and he called it “Aether”.

And while he was at it, he had also used Aether to create a new operating system for his computer as well as improved the firewall of his computer. From his estimations, the current programming language in this world was too primitive to ever hope on breaching his firewall.

In other words, it was impossible even for national-level hackers to hack his computer. Even if they all teamed up to hack his computer, it would only be a futile effort. They could never breach his firewall.

“Now that Aether has been developed, time to put it to good use and finally create my own sentient AI!”

With that goal in mind, Adam Spencer spent several hours developing his sentient artificial intelligence.

By the time he was finished, Adam checked his window and it was already nighttime. Taking a glance at his wall clock, he found out that it was currently 9 PM.

Due to how focused he was on his work, Adam lost his sense of time. Fortunately, he had already cooked dinner for his little sister and fed her before, or else she would have starved.

Well, even if he didn’t cook food for his little sister, it was not like his mother couldn’t do it. But Adam made sure that his mother wouldn’t have to exhaust herself and worsen her illness.

If he was black-hearted, he would have already left the house and lived on his own since his mother and sister were undoubtedly a burden for him. But Adam had never thought of his family as a burden since they were the source of his motivation to keep on living.

Without them, he might have already given up on life. Fortunately, he didn’t since he could obtain the Ultimate Talent System due to living this long.

While Adam was absentminded, his computer screen lit up and an anime-like girl appeared in it.

A sixteen-year-old girl with long silver-colored twin tails and crimson red eyes gazed at Adam as if she could see him through the screen. A pair of black-sharp horns protruding from her head and a long black tail with a triangular tip below her back made her look demonic

She was wearing a black hoodie with a white undershirt. Her figure was slim and she has B-cup-sized breasts.

Her crimson red eyes darted around the screen but her eyesight seemed to go beyond the computer screen. When her crimson eyes landed on Adam, they gleamed with excitement.

“Master!”

Her sweet yet alluring voice sounded through the computer’s speaker.
