It was also the first time Mason ever met Rita.

He had heard of the charming young lady who took Microloft by storm, but it was the first time seeing her in person.

She was a beautiful young lady with a petite stature. She wore an alluring smile and was super polite to him.

As soon as he sat down, Mason said, “I will not be coming to the office regularly. I would like you to continue handling the affairs as you have been.”

“However, I will be giving some orders now and then.” He added.

Rita wasn’t surprised that that was his approach. She didn’t expect the heir of the great Wilde family to spend his precious time sitting and overseeing the company.

“No problem, sir.”

At that moment, her secretary walked in.

“Ma’am, Emerald Wilson and Jason Rodney are here to see you.”

“Oh yes, I was expecting Ms. Wilson.”

“You do business with them?” Mason asked.

“Yes sir. The Wilson’s are one of our minor shareholders. They handle our shipping. So we meet every now and then to discuss our issues.”

“I don’t want you doing business with them anymore.” Mason said.

“Might I ask why sir?”

“No you may not. Halt all operations and contracts with the Wilsons immediately! If you cannot do that then I do not need you as my vice chairman!”

“My apologies sir! All operations and contracts will be terminated immediately!”

“Tell Ms Emerald that Microloft group no longer wants ties with minor trash.” Mason said to the secretary.

“Of Course sir!”

******

Out in the lobby, Emerald and Jason waited nervously for Rita Donovan.

The Wilsons had some standing with Microloft and they were key to a possible collaboration with them for the Rodneys.

It was exactly the kind of leverage Jason needed for his grandmother to appoint him as the director of Rodney's corp.

Both of them were taken by surprise when the secretary returned with two armed security men.

Jason stood, confused but asked, “Is Ms Donovan ready to see us now?”

The secretary glared coldy,

“Apologies. Our vice chairman has no interest in collaborating with Rodney's.”

“And to Ms Emerald, Microloft no longer wants ties with minor trash! From today onwards, all contracts and projects with the Wilsons have been terminated!!”

“What?! Why?!”

The couple stood, gaping.

They had heard that remark before. Minor trash.

Mason said that to them earlier.

What did Rita Donovan mean by all projects being terminated? Was she allowed to do that?

50% of the Wilson’s income came from their collaborations with Microloft and she was going to terminate them just like that?!

If she did that their social status would drop tremendously! As well as their financial status.

“Can I atleast see Ms Donovan?!” Emerald demanded.

“We have an immediate order to walk you two out of the building. We will use force if necessary.”

“We demand to see Ms Donovan!” Jason yelled.

“Throw them out!” The secretary shouted.

“You are not allowed here in the future! We never want to see you on our grounds!” The secretary added.

What is going on?

Emerald was in shock. She walked out slowly when her phone rang. It was her father.

“St*pid girl! What did you do?!” Her father demanded over the phone.

She stuttered, “I Don't know dad! I’m just as confused!”

“I just got a call that our projects have all been halted and it’s because of minor trash! You!”

“Our stock prices are plummeting! Nosediving! Why is it in the news that Microloft cut all ties with us?! I thought you were going to the HQ today?! What have you done?!”

While on the phone, Emerald heard a harsh sound.

Jason was slapped by one of the security guards.

Jason’s ears were ringing and he was flushed with embarrassment.

What was happening?

“Does…does your brother in law have any relationship with Microloft?” Emerald asked Jason.

“Mason? What? No!” Jason answered but doubted his response.

Could Mason have something to do with this? That was impossible.

Mason’s face flashed in his mind, that annoying smirk plastered on his face.

“Right? There’s no way that lowly scum had a hand in this!”

********

The news of the termination of the Wilson’s contract by Microloft spread like wildfire.

The Wilson family’s net worth was cut in half!

Madam Rodney heard the news and was furious.

She wanted to end Jason and Emeralds relationship but even with the scandal, the Wilson’s were still more prominent than the Rodney’s.

She was going to have to restrategize.

In Rita’s office, Mason was impressed with her and gave her a satisfied look.

He was especially pleased with her rapid response.

“Good job, Ms Rita. I look forward to working with you. I will speak to Gerald and have your salary upgraded.”

Rita bowed, “thank you sir! I don’t deserve your kind words!”

“Now, I want you to make a couple announcements.”

“Of course sir!”

“First, announce the change of ownership of Microloft. Announce the new chairman as Mr Wilde but do not disclose my identity.”

“Secondly, announce that Microloft will be building a secondary branch. We would be seeking investors and handing out projects to the highest bidder!”

The main business of the Rodney’s was building and construction. He was sure Madam Rodney would try to apply.

Any company that handled any part of the new branch would rise in influence and status.

Now that he owned Microloft, he was going to move things in favor of his wife.

Waiting felt like eternity, but Mason was just simply grateful to have his friend there even if he had persuaded them to return home but was promptly ignored of course. He was still glad. Glad he did not have to go through something like this alone, it would have been a nightmare to be honest.Mason stared at the time, the surgery had been going on for about two hours now, but he refused to think negatively, he could not really afford it, so he sat still and told himself that they were only doing what needed to be done.He picked up the drink Young had bought finally, he needed to stay hydrated, so he threw it down his throat, grimacing in the process as it burned him while going down. And he sniffed, his throat dry, he did not like that so much time had passed by it was becoming worrisome.“Don't worry. It sometimes takes this long you know.” Young offered and Mason nodded at him with a grateful smile, his friends were everything. He had no idea how he would have survived the turmoil

Through the bright haze of pain Scarlett could hear the nurses gasp as something got stuck, she knew that the atmosphere had changed, she was a sensitive person, so from the start of the labor itself she was already harboring terrible fears, and it seemed they were going to come through after all.The nurses tried their best to reassure her, they were the best in the business they said, all she needed to do was relax, it would be alright soon, but how could she? How could she relax when she felt herself losing strength by the minute. It was a terrible feeling, the weakness started from her head, sounds strange? Well that was exactly how it started, it started from her head and spread down slowly, leaving behind a terrible trail. She opened her mouth slowly and looked at the nurse, pleading with her eyes for her to come closer.“Mason.” Scarlett whispered pathetically and the woman sighed and patted her hand before leaning down.“Mr Wilde is out talking with the doctor ma'am, they are

He could not hear it, and the more he paced with his face scrunched up in worry, the more worried his friends became.“I think we should try a different hospital.” Mark finally voiced out from where he sat with his head in his hands, and Mason's eyes immediately snapped to him in concern.“Why? What do you think is wrong with this one?” He asked anxiously, and Young immediately spoke over Mark, glaring at him to keep shut as he spoke.“Absolutely nothing Mason, do not listen to Mark, listen to good things only.” He cautioned, and Mark frowned but said nothing.Immediately he heard this, Mason's worst fear was confirmed and he stood to rush into the room Scarlett was in taking deep breaths with the nurse, her hair already matte

Scarlett had been trained for such a situation, the water may most likely break in the middle of the night, they said, it happens to a lot of women, so fear not, they had advised, keep a calm head despite the heat of the moment and think rational thoughts, they had counseled. But Scarlett was in the heat of the moment, and ration was the least thing in her mind, not when she felt so anxious. The fact that the babies were not kicking her the night prior, and the fact that Mason was at ease with the company around him encouraged her to dismiss the nurses from hovering around her all night, she insisted she was alright, and with Mason being too distracted to pay attention, there was little they could do.But now she wished she could take it all back, the pain was back and back with a vengeance, with a crippling force that she could only gasp and hold her stomach. She was even afraid to move as the ground was slippery beneath her after her water broke. Scarlett was totally unprepared for

Scarlett woke up from her nap, and was pleasantly surprised to hear Mason laughing downstairs. He never seemed to laugh anymore, and just followed her anxiously with his eyes, his legs practically vibrating with the force of stopping them from jumping up and helping her.But now she heard him laughing, something so carefree in his laughter that it brought a smile to her lips as she got to her feet with the help of the nurse that was previously knitting a hat in a corner of the room. She had only agreed to let her stay in the bedroom because she found it extremely difficult to pick herself up from the bed after laying on it, she was like a proper whale now.“You know Mason, worrying till he could not anymore had always been his motto.” Mark laughed, and they all echoed it, each recounting a time when Mason almost killed himself with worry for no reason, and Mason sipped at the drink with a laugh, feeling thoroughly chagrined.*My God!” Young said softly and in awe as he stared at a th

Mason watched Scarlett gradually increase in size, and he had no idea what to feel, but one was sure though, the sight was dreadfully daunting. She was slim and fit one moment, and the next she was dragging her belly that had grown so big along that Mason was genuinely terrified that she might topple over one day, it was becoming a most genuine concern at that point. He was always hovering around and above her like a shadow, and knew that she was not pleased with it, but to Mason ever since she turned into an inflated balloon, she lost the right to decide what was best for her.The stay at home nurses he employed for her sake were paid to hover around her when he could not, and at that point Scarlett was venturing into crazy land.Mason knew that she was frustrated with his behavior, but he could not help it.
