The sound of the large door opening caught Xaviers attention. He looked up. The Holy Maiden was walking toward him with several people behind her. Most of them were guards, but one man immediately stood out. He looked to be in his fifties, with neatly combed grey-black hair and a well-tailored black suit. His expression was calm, almost pleasant, but there was something commanding in the way he carried himself. The kind of presence that made people instinctively give him room. The Holy Maiden stopped when she noticed Xavier. "Oh, Xavier." Xavier gave them both a small nod. "Holy Maiden." She tilted her head. "What brings you here?" Xavier hesitated. "I came with a reply to your offer." The Holy Maiden's expression changed slightly. She then turned to the man beside her. "I'm sorry, but I have something important to attend to right now. We'll have to continue this another time." The man's smile barely changed. But his eyes narrowed slightly. "Oh? But we were just getting to the more important part of our discussion." The Holy Maiden smiled apologetically. "I know. But we've already discussed the matters that required your attention, and our allotted time has expired." The man was silent for a moment. The Holy Maiden gave him another polite smile. "I'll see you another time, Mr. Kraken." 'Kraken?' Xavier recognized the name immediately. Then his memory jolted. 'Denver Kraken?' He had seen the man countless times on television. The CEO of Kraken Industries. The largest supplier of hunter equipment in the country. Xavier had never seen him in person before. Denver looked at The Holy Maiden for a moment longer before his expression softened into another smile. "Very well, Holy Maiden." Denver's tone remained polite, but there was a faint edge beneath it. "We'll speak again." "Of course." The Holy Maiden replied with a smile. She then turned towards Xavier. "All right, Xavier. Let's head inside. We can talk there." Xavier nodded. As he followed her, he glanced back. Denver was still standing there, watching them. One of his guards leaned toward him. "Sir... are we really just letting her leave like that?" Denver's gaze remained fixed on the building. "What exactly do you expect me to do?" The guard fell silent. Denver turned toward the waiting car. "Let's go." The doors opened. He entered without another word. The inside of the sanctuary was much quieter than Xavier expected. The Holy Maiden led him through a hallway before entering a private sitting room. A small table sat in the center of the room, with several chairs arranged around it. The Holy Maiden walked toward a cabinet. "Tea?" Xavier shook his head. "No, thank you." She glanced at him. "You don't drink tea?" "I don't mind it. I just don't feel like having any." He replied. The Holy Maiden shrugged. "That's fine." She prepared herself a cup anyway. Then, after a moment, she placed another cup in front of Xavier. He looked at it. "If you change your mind, it's there." She stated. Xavier nodded. "Thanks." They sat in silence for a few seconds. Xavier was about to speak but the Holy Maiden beat him to it. "So." She lifted her cup. "How was your night?" Xavier paused. "My night?" "Yes." She took a small sip. "After you left..." Xavier studied her face. 'Does she know?' 'She has Divine Eyes.' 'She might have noticed something.' 'I can't tell if she knows about the hunters or not.' "Nothing much happened." He said. "I went home and rested for a while, thinking about your offer." The Holy Maiden stared at him. For a second, Xavier thought she was going to ask something else. Instead, she simply nodded. "Hmm." He couldn't tell whether she believed him. "Anyways, Let's hear your answer." She said, setting her cup down. Xavier straightened. "Well... I've decided to accept your offer." The Holy Maiden smiled. "Thats good." "But there's something I want to make clear." Her smile remained. "Go on." "I don't want to be completely tied to a team. I want some freedom. I still want to be able to make my own decisions and go where I want." The Holy Maiden slowly narrowed her eyes. "So, let me understand this." Xavier waited. "You want to work with me." "Yes." "You want access to my influence and resources." Xavier hesitated. "...I wouldn't put it exactly like that." "But you don't want to actually work under me." "That's not what I..." "So you want to take advantage of my influence and authority without actually serving under me?" "No. That's not what I'm saying." Xavier panics. The Holy Maiden stared at him for another second. Then she laughed. Xavier blinked. She was clearly teasing him. "Relax," she said. "I understand what you mean." Xavier let out a sigh of relief. He slowly picked up the cup of tea before him. "Your request is fine." She leaned back slightly. "I don't mind giving you some freedom." Xavier nodded. "Thank you." "There is, however, one thing." "What?" Xavier asks. The Holy Maiden looked at him. "We have a dungeon we're raiding." Xavier's expression changed. "A dungeon?" "Yes." "What rank?" Xavier slowly sips his tea. "D-rank." Xavier nearly choked. "D-rank?" The Holy Maiden nodded calmly. "Yes." Xavier stared at her worried. "B...but I'm still unawakened." "I know." "And... I... into a D-rank dungeon?" Xaviers voice was full of anxiety. "Yes." Xavier stared at her. His mind immediately began running through everything that could go wrong. A D-rank dungeon. He hadn't even awakened mana. He had barely survived against five E-rank hunters. And now she wanted him to enter something even more dangerous? 'Should I not have accepted this offer?' [There Is No Need To Panic.] Xavier froze. [Remain Cautious.] [Do Not Underestimate Your Opponents.] [Give It Your All.] [You Will Survive.] Xavier listened carefully. He took a slow breath. His shoulders gradually relaxed. The Holy Maiden watched him the entire time. The sudden panic. The way he froze. Then the way he slowly calmed himself down. A small smile appeared on her face. "You're calmer now." Xavier looked at her. "I just needed a moment." "I noticed." She stated still wearing that smile. He ignored the amusement in her voice. "So... what happens now?" Xavier asks. "When is the dungeon?" The Holy Maiden picked up her cup again. "Now." The Holy Maiden answered casually. Xavier blinked. "Now?" She nodded. "We're leaving in five minutes." Xavier stared at her. "...What?"Latest Chapter

They were cunning creatures, and their habit of mocking their prey with laughter was well documented. But this?Staying hidden while systematically surrounding their enemies? That was different. He had encountered Kobolds before. They usually relied on their numbers, rushing their targets and overwhelming them through sheer aggression. They could be surprisingly coordinated to a degree, but this level of patience was unusual. There was only one explanation he could think of.'An Alpha Kobold.'His expression darkened. But this is supposed to be a D-rank dungeon.Alpha Kobolds only appeared in mutated D-rank dungeons or C-Rank dungeons. Their presence usually meant the group was dealing with something far more dangerous. He glanced toward th

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~The moment Xavier stepped into the dungeon, he was greeted by the green scenery. The smell of rain and plants hit him hard.Trees stretched high above them, their branches spreading across the sky. Thick bushes covered the ground, while vines hung from the trees. The air was cool and damp.Xavier took a deep breath. His chest was still rising heavily from the anxiety he'd felt before entering, but he forced himself to calm down. They had barely taken a few steps when the hunters began spreading out.Weapons were drawn. Some held swords.Others carried spears, bows, or weapons Xavier couldn't identify.Everyone was watching their surroundings.Xavier followed their example. One thing he had learned from his previous dungeon experiences was simple.Never let your guard down.A dungeon wasn't like the outside world.Danger could come from anywhere.Above.Behind.Even beneath your feet.He glanced at the trees. Then the bushes.Nothing.At least, nothing he could see.‘System

Tents were set up, supplies were arranged, and the group gathered together to discuss their strategy.Xavier stood slightly away from them, watching. He had entered dungeons before. But never anything like this. The difference wasn't just the rank.It was the number of people. The preparation. The equipment.Everything abou

Five minutes.”It was so casually said that Xavier wasn't sure if she was joking.“Do you even have your gear ready?”“My gear?” Xavier asked.“Your hunting equipment.”Xavier paused. Then he chuckled a bit.“I don't really have any.” He said. The Holy Maiden blinked.“You don't?”Xavier shook his head.“The only things I have are a pickaxe and a few knives.”For a moment, she simply stared at him confused. Then she covered her mouth.“Oh.” She suddenly remembered. She looked slightly embarrassed.“Sorry. I forgot you were working as a porter not long ago.”“Yhh, It's fine.” Xavier replied. The Holy Maiden turned.“Alexandria.”“Yes, Holy Maiden?”“Get him some equipment.”Alexandria stepped forward.“What weapon would you prefer?”Xavier thought about it.“Any.” He answered.“Any?”“I've never really had a chance to develop a preference.” He explained.Alexandria looked at the Holy Maiden. The Holy Maiden considered hi
