"There is no absolute strength," Nathan reached out and stroked Louis Ruiz's hair, "only the strength to keep getting better." That's why he's never been a believer in the ultimate in perfection. In his eyes, there is no such thing as the ultimate, only the ever-improving tennis. This is what he has learned after living two lifetimes. It was also the source of his confidence that he would never be afraid to step on any court, that he was strong, and that, through hard work, he would become even stronger.

"Bastards, those Americans, coming to a Japanese college game!" Louis Ruiz shouted in displeasure as he came off the field.

"Game over, Zeach Affiliated High School, Hersh Student wins, 6-1."

As the outside helper hired by Nagoya Startech to deal with Zeach, his strength is not weak, even better than many of the school's players. In order to let Louis Ruiz play, Nathan left the offensive reins to the little kelpie and played defense.
