27. Laura's Threat!

Laura gasped in shock at Danny's behavior. During their three years of marriage, Danny had always shown his tenderness. But this time, he treated her like a stranger.

But she didn't want to show this to Danny, or else she would make him big-headed! Laura stood up with her waist ruffled. "Huh! Then give me your room key! I'll find out the truth!"

Danny chuckled, "What authority do you have to ask for my room key? Do you two want to borrow the room I rented to do something inappropriate?"

"Shut your mouth, Danny!" exclaimed Laura in a high tone.

"Huh!" Danny smiled faintly.

"Danny, you're not getting any more ignorant! Laura asked for your room key, because she wants to find something in your room. Just give her the key, if you didn't take the gift from Miss Bennet, then it shouldn't be a problem to show it to us," Tom added in support of Laura.

Laura nodded, "Right, if you don't dare, then you really stole it. Now you'd better come with me to Grandma's!"

Danny folded his arms across his chest and sat with his legs crossed. "If I won't, what will you do?"

Danny's demeanor changed dramatically. Every word he said indicated that he was against the Huxley family.

"Hmm, so you won't let me search your room?" Laura asked and said again," Then you'll have to come with me back to Grandma's house, kneel down and apologize and then you'll receive your punishment from Grandma, and we'll call it a day!"

Danny smiled slightly, "Is that all the Huxley family can do? Telling you to kneel down and follow the family rules? Isn't there anything else? Or could it be that the Huxleys aren't as superior as you say?"

Laura continued to point at Danny, "You!"

The blonde woman stomped and said, "How dare you say such things about the Huxley family? I'm asking you to apologize on your knees and accept the family punishment because we still have a conscience and pity you!"

"Laura is right! Given that you were once part of the Huxley family, so she didn't report you to the police. You should know that for stealing three million dollars worth of goods, you'd be in jail for at least fifteen to twenty years."

'All this time, I did whatever he asked, including kneeling in front of his family while receiving punishment because he thought I liked him so much. He always thought I was fortunate to be the Huxley family's son-in-law, but now I won't do that anymore. There's no point in my groveling before him and the rest of the Huxley family!

"Danny, I'll give you one more chance to go back home and do your business...."

Danny stood before Laura could finish her sentence and waved at the waiter. "I'm done. Add this to my room bill!" Danny reached into his pocket and handed the waiter five-hundred-dollar bills. "Here's your tip for today!"

The petite and cute-faced waitress was wide-eyed and bowed in gratitude. In all her years as a waitress, no one had ever given her a tip like Danny. The most she had ever received was fifty dollars.

Seeing the tip that the waitress received, Laura was furious. She grabbed the waitress by the arm and started to snatch the money from her hand. "Give that money back! You have no right to it! It belongs to the Huxley family!"

Laura's impulsive behavior embarrassed Tom. He pulled and grabbed Laura's hand, causing the tip money Danny had given to fall to the floor. 

Laura glared at Tom and shouted, "Why are you blocking me? This waitress doesn't deserve Danny's money! That's.... 's money!"

"Shut up!" snapped Tom as Laura gasped, and her eyes turned red.

Tom took a long breath and said softly, "Laura, you can't be like this. Forget about the money the servant received. Do you want everyone to look at you and think of you as a woman who is greedy and fights with the servants?"

Laura paused for a moment, thinking that Tom was right. What would people say about her if they knew this? Especially now, everything is so easy to go viral.

"Now we better call the police and go after your ex-husband! Look, he's already approaching the bar door and almost leaving," Tom reminded her again.

Laura again said nothing and went straight after Danny.

"Danny! I've called the police to arrest you, and you can't run away from here anymore!" Laura shouted.

Danny just turned his head and didn't care what they said. He just walked calmly towards the elevator. Meanwhile, Laura stomped away and reported the situation to her uncle.

Grandma, who had heard from Desmond about Laura's decision to call the police, looked dissatisfied. Her lips pursed, and wrinkles became more evident on her face. "Why did she have to call the police? Doesn't Laura know that I hate to deal with them?"

Desmond tried to calm Grandma down and rubbed her back gently. "Mom, there's no need to get emotional. It's possible that Laura was forced to do this because Danny couldn't cooperatecan't."

"That's right Mom, Danny's behavior today was really annoying, he kept fighting us," Kelly added.

Grandma snorted in annoyance and said, "Huh, I guess it's true. Danny is stubborn and today he's being so arrogant. Looks like he's destined to spend the rest of his life in prison!"

Meanwhile, in the lobby of the Pine Royal Hotel...

Fifteen minutes had passed, and Laura smiled as she saw two police officers enter the lobby. She immediately stood up and approached them.

"Sir, I'm Laura Huxley, calling for you. The former son-in-law of the Huxley family, Danny Raphael, has been stealing from our family home. Please cooperate to catch him!" Laura said.

The police nodded and approached the reception desk, handing over an investigation warrant.

"Huh! Now the police are here, and the receptionist can't possibly tell me where your room is! "Laura murmured triumphantly.

Laura watched the police, who were talking to the receptionist seriously. But Laura couldn't wait to go, which annoyed her.
