“I’ve received three emergency calls in the last few minutes about a suspected serial killer.” Atlas said coldly.
“Who's the serial killer?” His voice edged up in question but no one spoke.
Just stares, suppressed winks and murmurs.
His eyes darted to the security guards. “Who's the serial killer?”
“Someone explained this to me. Now! Or I will call the police chief myself.”
He yelled.
“All the accusers will be arrested!”
Their hearts were already drumming hard. Some turned in blame. Others regret, wishing they never came here.
Leon staggered forward, clearly shaking.
“Sir, this man drove into the hospital premises with a baby and a gun.”
He turned and his colleagues rushed behind others’ backs thinking he was going to call them.
“I thought you all were strong?” Caspian mocked but no one dared to answer.
Meanwhile Atlas’ steady, raging gaze on Leon lingered.
He picked up his story quickly.
“Graycie here had claimed he was her nanny but he claimed they were about getting married but Graycie went absent and that he was cheating on him.”
“Come here!” Atlas ordered Graycie who hesitated before Orion elbowed her to go.
“Is this true?”
She first took a deep breath “When security questioned him, he became aggressive. He threatened me so badly..…”
She stopped.
Graycie in vile protest gave her stunt. “Such a threat to life should be locked up in jail.”
“Don't tell me you are with this criminal?” Orion asked Atlas.
Atlas was about to lash out on her when a phone rang. The lady by Atlas’ side pulled it out.
“Here sir.”
But Atlas asked. “Cordelia, check first. Who's calling?”
“You don't have to shout at her.” Caspian said calmly.
“I'm so sorry, sir.” Atlas apologized right away while Cordelia curtsied before Caspian.
Graycie’s ears turned red with jealousy but Caspian rolled his eyes over her, smirking.
“It's Sir. Titan himself,” Cordelia uttered in a hushed voice. tone.
Atlas snatched the phone from her, picking quickly.
“How's the paternity test going?” The old man's voice resonated to the hearing of everyone.
All were on stand still.
“Sir, we are about to go in for that. I'll update right away after it's done.”
“Okay,” Sir. Titan said and ended the call.
Hearing his voice, Caspian recalled the two requirements to take over.
But he had one. One he wasn't even sure of.
“If something goes wrong, you're finished!” He cracked out at Graycie.
And to Dr. Orion. “My son, Jett’s paternity, is still uncertain but I won't let this asshole supervise it.”
He approached Caspian closer, each step was filled with so much anger. “Follow me!”
Atlas’ voice wasn’t loud, but it carried immense authority and hurt at the same time, even in his eyes.
“Where?” Caspian casually asked.
“Just follow me, sir.” The pitch was higher. Eyes turned but no one could utter a word.
Caspian staggered forward as Atlas grabbed his wrist and launched him forward.
His ribs were still throbbing with pain, and the blood on his lips had already started to dry.
But the pain meant nothing compared to the fear twisting inside his chest.
His eyes immediately went to Jett. “Do you know what Sir. Titan will do if he ends up not being your son?”
That's when Caspian’s rowdy mind became clearer, returning back to Jett who was in the arms of one of the officers.
“Give him to her!” Atlas ordered the officer, signaling Cordelia to grab him.
But Jett’s cries got louder and he was stretching his hands to his dad.
Caspian took him. “Don't worry,” he said to Cordelia.
His tiny clung to him like he was grabbing to dear life, his fingers to his shirt. Jett's trembling body relaxed against his father’s chest.
Caspian closed his eyes for a brief moment.
Their emotional bond was top notch. For the past year, Graycie had been mostly absent in their lives, in the name of work.
While he was trying to soothe Jett and follow Atlas to wherever he was taking him to, something came up in his mind.
Was it possible that Graycie and Orion were tricking him into surrendering Jett so they take him away and start their family right away.
Could Dr. Orion be impotent and they were using him to bear a child for themselves, from where Graycie will kick him out.
That's when the gun popped up again in his mind.
Had she brought the gun to shoot him dead, so she can take Jett and go be with Orion?
Look at the distance she traveled to come be with him in the name of work?
Even Atlas confirmed that Orion was with his baby mama.
Their relationship was serious. Caspian could ascertain but the issues raised in his head, he couldn't just bring his head to wrap over the matter.
But Sir. Titan had called, the test had to be done no sooner than later.
“What about the police?” Graycie desperately called out seeing them want to move.
Atlas paused, jaw clenched. He shoveled his head and kept on walking without turning back.
People who'd seen the drama, seeing Caspian following the Chief of Staff, whispered among themselves.
The guards who molested Caspian followed with uneasy expressions, unsure whether they were witnessing an arrest, a family confrontation, or something much worse.
Caspian’s eyes glowed with ego.
But Graycie wasn't accepting whatever was going on here. She didn't want to believe Caspian was any important person.
He was an orphan. She knew his foster parents, the one who came from the village to help him plan the wedding.
“There's no way he can be important,” she muttered against her chest.
“No, I'm not buying that!” She referred to her earlier fright.
Caspian’s foresight edged up. He looked at her, asking. “Trying harder so we don't spot you?”
She gasped, cocking her head but he said no further. Just a whisper to Atlas and his men are already advancing towards both her and Orion.
“Only after the test is done will you be freed.” Atlas said.
Caspian added. “Only if the result matches….”
“Matches?” Graycie barked out in question.
“Me.”
The whole gathering fell into silence. Both were led to follow us. Cordelia, gently carrying Jett.
They walked down the hallway advancing towards the elevator that was leading us up.
Caspian’s heart was beating frantically but Atlas patted him on the shoulder. “Don't worry too much, sir.”
“Hmm.”
Up there at the Geneticist office, the new one Atlas had booked recently, they were led in and their samples collected right away.
Father and son.
“The mom's not needed?” Caspian asked the doctor whose name tag read Dr. Fred. He shook his head.
“Not at all, it's only in case it doesn't match you, then we will look for the third party.”
By that third party, Caspian already knew what it meant. He gave a faint shake of my head.
“Let him not be mine first,” he muttered as he turned to both Graycie and Orion who were sitting opposite, guarded by Atlas’ men.
When it was time, both got into the lab. More samples were needed. Cordelia walked in with Caspian, carrying Jett in her bosom. Surprisingly he wasn't crying.
They looked so much like a couple that the last thing Caspian remembered seeing on Graycie’s face was a tight squeeze.
Hate. Pain. Jealousy.
“You may go wait for the next thirty minutes,” Dr. Fred said after the sample collection.
Caspian sat with Cordelia who was busy playing with Jett, his little hands at times stretching towards him but it was him sunk deep in thoughts.
His fate and past reflecting across his mind. The next thirty minutes would determine what happens to him.

Caspian quickly turned to face her, his eyes lurking with curiosity. “Why did you ask?” She flung her face away, trying to hide the nervous expression but Caspian already saw through it. “Like I said, I'm just curious.” She muttered. Caspian smirked, turning back to look on the road ahead of them. “That's left for me to decide. Let's finish with the police station.” Cordelia swallowed a mouthful. She nodded. “It's okay.” But snapped back again. “Whatever happens, I'm here with you.” Caspian only smiled, saying nothing. At the station, they were led to the investigation room where the Police Chief was already waiting for them. Seeing Atlas with Caspian, he stood up in salute. Both Graycie and Orion twisted their brows. Even the police chief knew Caspian. A thing which baffled them. The three began to talk, sharing pleasantries while Graycie and Orion were asked to sit and wait for them to finish. Graycie sat but Orion met with one of the officers. “I'm calling my lawyer.” C

Atlas's jaw tightened."Do you know who he is?""This is a police investigation, so you better stay out of this." The officer warned and Atlas was going to pull out his phone and call the Police chief when Caspian pressed his hand down. “I can't let you go with them, you're way above that.” “Way above the law or he's just being a coward?” Graycie played her stunt. “You're still talking?” Atlas was heading towards her but Caspian dashed him a cold stare."Don't."Atlas frowned. "Sir?""Don't make this worse." He said coldly. But Atlas wasn't buying this. He quickly stepped outside. “Who are you going to call? There's no need.” Graycie was already being led away. She turned her head toward Caspian. For the first time since their wedding disaster, she looked uncertain.Orion noticed it.Then he leaned closer to her as the officers moved them toward the elevators."Don't say anything."Caspian caught the whisper. Atlas nodded and went out again. Turning to sit, his eyes met with Jett. His stomach knotted. A few minutes later, Atlas returned, bobbing his head. “Yes, you can.” “Give me the HR’s contact.” Caspian ordered. Atlas snapped at one of his men who linked with Dr. Fred. A number was sent. It popped up on Caspian’s phone, tagged HR. “What do you need the HR for?” Orion got alarmed, rushing to Caspian but Atlas’ men held him. Graycie stood up, knowing something was about to happen. “You must be joking if you think you can do anything to my man.” “Bold enough!” Caspian smirked typing into his phone. She rushed at him aiming for the phone but Caspian flung his hand up with it, high above her. “Give me the phone?” “Is it yours?” He teased, amused with the idea of stressing the guts out of her. He recalled how she stressed the hell out of him with allegations that he was her nanny. The accusations that he was stalking her. Now, he would do no less. So Caspian wrote a letter. Endors

Prior to his past. What happened to his parents. The very reason he'd been mandated to do this. The type of disciplinarian his grandpa was. When his dad took control over Titan and within one year lavished the resources that the group of hospitals was close to bankruptcy, he knew his chances of inheriting this billion-dollar asset would be tough. As if the exile wasn't enough, they ganged up to vote his grandfather out of the company so they could inherit fast and continue with their luxury lifestyle but Sir. Titan disowned his son. Chapter 3
Caspian pulled out his phone in rage, angrily typing Graycie’s name. Her number showed and he tapped on it. It rang. “Come on, pick the call!” He growled angrily. It rang and rang, no one picked. He turned back, driving his fingers into his air in frustration when he recalled what Atlas had said. About to call him to tell of the calamity he was in, he caught sight of a couple. With the woman looking so familiar. His heart ceased a bit. He looked deeper. It was Graycie. For a brief moment, Caspian forgot everything. The guards disappeared from his mind. Even the thought of calling Atlas to tell him that he had arrived. For one second, he simply stood there, staring at the woman he had called his wife. She was laughing, curled up in the arms of the tall, gorgeous man, looking so much like a doctor. The doctor she'd talked of. Then a black Ferrari drove by stopping at the entrance of the block, the car opened. She stretched up towards the man's cheek and gave him a kiss. “Hey
