Prior to his past.

What happened to his parents. The very reason he'd been mandated to do this. The type of disciplinarian his grandpa was.

Merely receiving this request from his granddad, he knew what it was about.

When his dad took control over Titan and within one year lavished the resources that the group of hospitals was close to bankruptcy, he knew his chances of inheriting this billion-dollar asset would be tough.

He was a young boy then, but he just knew.

His grandfather, Sir. Titan was a no-nonsense man. Never joked with his companies and was ready to cut off family to uphold his companies.

And that's exactly what he did, cutting off his dad and mom.

As if the exile wasn't enough, they ganged up to vote his grandfather out of the company so they could inherit fast and continue with their luxury lifestyle but Sir. Titan disowned his son.

His wife, who was his mom seeing things turn up unexpectedly, divorced his dad a few months later, upon him being unable to keep up with her luxury lifestyle.

A year later, his dad died of suicide. As for his mother, after she left, he never heard of her again.

Caspian could still remember everything even though he was just a kid.

But when he grew up, his grandpa wouldn't let him stay with him.

He downgraded him to the life of a poor guy. Assigned him to some old time friends running a horse ranch in the outskirts.

“Learn how life is without money. Get married, raise a kid. When you've passed my test, I'll send for you.”

That's how he met and fell in love with a neighbor girl. Graycie. The jovial, caring young woman who always brought him soup and gisted with him to the night.

He wanted her to be his forever.

Caspian’s mind paused in thoughts and he gave off a heavy sigh.

When she'd laid out her quest to start a massage parlor, he'd approved and spoke about her business to his grandfather's friends and business associates, even the top staff at Titan.

The only way he could help since Sir. Titan had already distanced him from the family's wealth.

Barely starting and her place was dripping with clients. Connects upon connects.

Yet she didn't change. Was always treating him well although she no longer had enough time to spend with him.

He understood quite well.

But this doctor happened to grab her attention and pull her away from him.

“I just pity him!” He sighed, shaking his head.

His attention returned to Jett, his hand involuntarily draping over the woman carrying him. Cordelia.

Just then he realized and quickly attempted to remove his hand but Cordelia grabbed it with a warm smile spread across her lips.

“I like it!”

Graycie sighed loudly from across.

She was out of the way.

Then the door opened and Dr. Fred tapped on Caspian. “Mr. Caspian, come in.”

When he said so, Graycie was up, Cordelia was up. Both wanted to walk in. He specified. “You alone.”

At this he frowned, drifting his look back to Atlas whose brows edged up. “What?” He rose in worry but Caspian flapped his fingers.

Atlas sat.

Inside the office, Caspian sat with a stony face, trying to suppress his pulse which was skyrocketing.

No matter what happened, he wasn't permitted to be emotional.

However it turned out, he wouldn't break down.

“Doctor, what about the result?”

Dr. Fred passed papers to him, turning over to sit as if it was a very difficult task.

“Jett isn't your son.” He said straight up and matter of factly.

Caspian jumped up from his seat, betraying his earlier decision not to go emotional.

“What did you say? Please repeat it again?”

“Perhaps you need to ask the mother to tell you who his father is, because it's definitely not you.”

Caspian turned, walking out of the room with fisted palms. “Graycie? Graycie?” Hearing him bark like this, Atlas sprang up from his seat.

“What's it, sir?”

But Caspian ignored him. “Graycie! Why did you make me take care of a son who's not mine? Urgh?”

He stormed across her in three swift strides. The guards who were Atlas’ men stepped aside.

She quivered, turning to Orion who was also up with her.

“Why? Why would you waste my years?”

“Just why?” He barked and was already hands in the air, ready to strike when Cordelia rushed towards him with a pleading look.

“Please don't go physical. You can talk to me if you need anything, I'll provide.”

Caspian was a gasp away but he managed to suppress it.

“You can't speak? Urgh?”

“Why bark like a dog! Have you forgotten what place this is?” She finally replied.

“Does that answer my question?”

Caspian’s veins were already bulging from his face and body.

Atlas walked up. “Jett isn't yours?” He calmly asked Caspian who nodded with a grit of teeth.

“How can a young woman like her be so heartless?”

“Weren't you the nanny?” She hadn't finished speaking when a hard smack reached the back of her head and she saw herself falling face down.

Gasps rang out from Orion and a few of the men waiting.

Caspian sneered.

Atlas boldly affirmed it. “Anything that happens, hold me responsible. But I must make sure that sharp mouth of hers is clipped.”

Orion advanced at Atlas while he was talking.

Caspian snapped at the guards. “Handcuff him!” As if he knew that the men were with handcuffs.

One took his' out and bound his wrists together in front.

“Bring him in!” Caspian angrily ordered.

Orion struggled, protesting out loud. “How dare you treat me like a criminal?”

“Who was the first to treat someone like a criminal?” And he couldn't answer.

“Bring him in!”

Inside the lab, his colleague and second best coldly said. “Either you cooperate or you will be forced to.”

The last thing Orion ever thought he'd hear from his rival.

He bit his lower lips very hard. “Pity yourself after this!”

Caspian was ready to attack but Dr. Fred stopped him. “It's just the bark of a helpless dog.”

Upon non-compliance, his samples were forcefully collected.

“The same way you didn't pity me with my sacrificed to Jett and the woman you were fucking behind my back, I can't pity you.”

Another thirty minutes was given and the results were out. Samples given to Caspian.

“This matches Jett. He's ninety-nine percent the father.”

Caspian’s heart stopped beating that very second. He turned to Jett, he was stretching his little hands on him. His heart was almost filled with disgust for him.

But on second thought, this was just a little baby. He wasn't even aware of what was going on.

Caspian’s heart pierced with guilt. He breathed heavily.

“What happens now? I know grandpa wouldn't let me take over.”

Atlas was slowly tapping his foot on the floor, phone in hand, head bobbing slowly.

“Shittt!” He groaned, hitting his feet hard on the floor.

“What do we do now?” Caspian lifted his head at Atlas.

“I'd promised to inform Sir. Titan. I think I have to do it now.”

Caspian’s resolve faded. He wasn't going to take over. He was going to start afresh. This hurt him more than anything.

He watched as Atlas stepped out of the waiting room to go call his boss.

Graycie blinked happily. “I lost, you lose. It's a win-win.” She mocked.

Caspian glared, fingers clutched, not saying a word. He knew what he wanted. His reaction. He wasn't gonna give her.

Atlas returned a few minutes later with a sullen face.

Caspian rose up. “Is it possible to have a last minute request?” He asked Atlas. “Will my grandpa grant me just that since I don't qualify to take over?”

The look in Atlas’ eyes rose with sad concern. “What's that? I can ask Sir. Titan about it.”

He leaned forward, whispering into his ear. Atlas’ pupils dilated. “I won't let them go scot free.”

Caspian quickly turned to face her, his eyes lurking with curiosity. “Why did you ask?” She flung her face away, trying to hide the nervous expression but Caspian already saw through it. “Like I said, I'm just curious.” She muttered. Caspian smirked, turning back to look on the road ahead of them. “That's left for me to decide. Let's finish with the police station.” Cordelia swallowed a mouthful. She nodded. “It's okay.” But snapped back again. “Whatever happens, I'm here with you.” Caspian only smiled, saying nothing. At the station, they were led to the investigation room where the Police Chief was already waiting for them. Seeing Atlas with Caspian, he stood up in salute. Both Graycie and Orion twisted their brows. Even the police chief knew Caspian. A thing which baffled them. The three began to talk, sharing pleasantries while Graycie and Orion were asked to sit and wait for them to finish. Graycie sat but Orion met with one of the officers. “I'm calling my lawyer.” C

Atlas's jaw tightened."Do you know who he is?""This is a police investigation, so you better stay out of this." The officer warned and Atlas was going to pull out his phone and call the Police chief when Caspian pressed his hand down. “I can't let you go with them, you're way above that.” “Way above the law or he's just being a coward?” Graycie played her stunt. “You're still talking?” Atlas was heading towards her but Caspian dashed him a cold stare."Don't."Atlas frowned. "Sir?""Don't make this worse." He said coldly. But Atlas wasn't buying this. He quickly stepped outside. “Who are you going to call? There's no need.” Graycie was already being led away. She turned her head toward Caspian. For the first time since their wedding disaster, she looked uncertain.Orion noticed it.Then he leaned closer to her as the officers moved them toward the elevators."Don't say anything."Caspian caught the whisper. His eyes narrowed. Orion looked back at him. There was something in th

Atlas nodded and went out again. Turning to sit, his eyes met with Jett. His stomach knotted. A few minutes later, Atlas returned, bobbing his head. “Yes, you can.” “Give me the HR’s contact.” Caspian ordered. Atlas snapped at one of his men who linked with Dr. Fred. A number was sent. It popped up on Caspian’s phone, tagged HR. “What do you need the HR for?” Orion got alarmed, rushing to Caspian but Atlas’ men held him. Graycie stood up, knowing something was about to happen. “You must be joking if you think you can do anything to my man.” “Bold enough!” Caspian smirked typing into his phone. She rushed at him aiming for the phone but Caspian flung his hand up with it, high above her. “Give me the phone?” “Is it yours?” He teased, amused with the idea of stressing the guts out of her. He recalled how she stressed the hell out of him with allegations that he was her nanny. The accusations that he was stalking her. Now, he would do no less. So Caspian wrote a letter. Endors

“I’ve received three emergency calls in the last few minutes about a suspected serial killer.” Atlas said coldly. “Who's the serial killer?” His voice edged up in question but no one spoke. Just stares, suppressed winks and murmurs. His eyes darted to the security guards. “Who's the serial killer?” “Someone explained this to me. Now! Or I will call the police chief myself.”He yelled. “All the accusers will be arrested!” Their hearts were already drumming hard. Some turned in blame. Others regret, wishing they never came here. Leon staggered forward, clearly shaking. “Sir, this man drove into the hospital premises with a baby and a gun.” He turned and his colleagues rushed behind others’ backs thinking he was going to call them. “I thought you all were strong?” Caspian mocked but no one dared to answer. Meanwhile Atlas’ steady, raging gaze on Leon lingered. He picked up his story quickly. “Graycie here had claimed he was her nanny but he claimed they were about getting ma

Caspian pulled out his phone in rage, angrily typing Graycie’s name. Her number showed and he tapped on it. It rang. “Come on, pick the call!” He growled angrily. It rang and rang, no one picked. He turned back, driving his fingers into his air in frustration when he recalled what Atlas had said. About to call him to tell of the calamity he was in, he caught sight of a couple. With the woman looking so familiar. His heart ceased a bit. He looked deeper. It was Graycie. For a brief moment, Caspian forgot everything. The guards disappeared from his mind. Even the thought of calling Atlas to tell him that he had arrived. For one second, he simply stood there, staring at the woman he had called his wife. She was laughing, curled up in the arms of the tall, gorgeous man, looking so much like a doctor. The doctor she'd talked of. Then a black Ferrari drove by stopping at the entrance of the block, the car opened. She stretched up towards the man's cheek and gave him a kiss. “Hey
