Caspian quickly turned to face her, his eyes lurking with curiosity. “Why did you ask?”
She flung her face away, trying to hide the nervous expression but Caspian already saw through it.
“Like I said, I'm just curious.” She muttered.
Caspian smirked, turning back to look on the road ahead of them. “That's left for me to decide. Let's finish with the police station.”
Cordelia swallowed a mouthful. She nodded. “It's okay.”
But snapped back again. “Whatever happens, I'm here with you.”
Caspian only smiled, saying nothing.
At the station, they were led to the investigation room where the Police Chief was already waiting for them.
Seeing Atlas with Caspian, he stood up in salute. Both Graycie and Orion twisted their brows.
Even the police chief knew Caspian. A thing which baffled them.
The three began to talk, sharing pleasantries while Graycie and Orion were asked to sit and wait for them to finish.
Graycie sat but Orion met with one of the officers. “I'm calling my lawyer.”
Caspian heard and turned to look back. The police officer removed the handcuff. “You see this gun,” he pointed at the gun stuck by his side.
“You run and I shoot you.”
Orion chuckled. “Why will I run? Did I kill someone? Even those who kill someone don't run.”
And he pulled out his phone going over to the balcony which was many twists and turns away to call.
Caspian suspected him. If he was going to call a lawyer, did he have to do it in private?
He took an excuse and followed after him, silently.
A door at the far end of the corridor was slightly open.
Beyond it was an outdoor balcony overlooking the hospital's lower gardens.
And standing there was Orion.
Caspian hid in one of the corners, within hearing reach.
Graycie had stood up to counter him but was held back and strictly warned.
Meanwhile here, Orion was alone. His back was turned. His phone was pressed to his ear.
Caspian's eyes narrowed. “What's he doing there?”
He had no reason to hear the conversation. But seeing the suspicious glares, accusations and everything, he was eager to hear.
"I told you the footage would work."
Caspian stopped breathing. One officer turned.
"What's wrong?"
Caspian raised a finger to his lip. "Don't talk."
He moved slowly and closer to the balcony door.
Atlas remained behind with the police chief, negotiating.
Caspian stepped close enough to hear. Then pulled out his phone quickly to record. Video.
Orion barely looked back. He was unaware.
"No. The boy being Caspian's son wasn't part of the original plan."
Caspian's heart slammed against his ribs.
Jett.
Orion continued.
"Yes, I knew exactly what the test was gonna look like. I would have given a different result if that witchy Atlas didn't come in to spoil my plans."
Caspian’s mind resonated. What was he trying to mean?
But Orion’s soft laughter disrupted the gnawing thoughts in him.
"Relax. Titan still doesn't know what I came here for. Even Graycie doesn't know why I started a relationship with her."
Caspian's blood went cold.
Who was he?
This became one question Caspian was dying hard to know.
He moved closer.
Orion turned slightly, still unaware of him.
"I've already gained access to their genetic department. Their patient database is much larger than we expected."
“Urgh?” Caspian's lips parted.
Mole came to mind. Orion was definitely a mole.
From where now became his concern.
Previously, he'd thought everything centered on Graycie but he was probably mistaken.
It was Orion. The doctor everyone praised. The pride of Titan hospital.
This wasn't about Graycie.
"Yes, Father."
Caspian stiffened. Father? He was talking to his father.
Who was his father?
Caspian’s heart was now beating so heavily, up to having his chest ripped open.
Orion continued.
"No, Father. I haven't revealed my identity. No one knows and they will never know."
Another pause.
Then Orion said something that made Caspian's entire body go rigid.
"I will make you proud, dad. I can't wait to take over CMG and drive it to being the best in the US."
Caspian's breath caught.
CMG.
That name sounded familiar, the logo on his phone screen at the elevator but he had to make sure.
So he minimized the video screen and went to G****e, typing into the Ai search button.
“What's the meaning of CMG in the medical line in the US?”
It was a rough search, which if he didn't get what he wanted, he would prompt it better.
Clever Medical Group.
The name lined across his screen.
His heart made a stud. Memories rewinded.
A rival hospital network.
It was as if his lungs would stop work any moment from now.
“Damn!” He almost said it loud but clipped his lips shut.
A company that had been expanding aggressively across Nevada and California.
He read along, before blinking his eyes up and back to Orion.
He remembered this name also from his grandfather's lips. Something from years ago.
A name Sir Titan had once mentioned during a business discussion years ago.
While he was a young boy, he had followed him to one of the business meetings.
Caspian stared at Orion through the glass. He was still making the call but all the words he said went blur to his ears.
He wondered if his grandfather knew of this. If Atlas knew? Or if Sir. Titan was busy being strict on not letting an ineligible grandson take over his conglomerate while a stranger was in here, playing strategies to take it.
He imagined the look on their faces should they hear this.
For this in particular, he was going back after here to meet his grandfather.
He wasn't going to take over. He wasn't going to beg him to be lenient with him but he was going to tell him what was going on while he was out there being strict.
His suspicions were deep and real.
The focus was once back ok Orion. The millionaire doctor Graycie had chosen over him.
He was almost cracking up with a sad laugh.
“It's always like that for greedy women.” He said in his mind.
To Graycie, she thought she'd found an understanding Mr. Right who was okay with her cheating her way to get him to take care of their kid.
A man who wasn't even bothered whether she had sex with him or not.
Her little brain didn't go as far as this.
But the greater issue was that this mole of a best doctor must have had access to their systems.
Orion's voice cut in now to his hearing.
"Once I get the remaining files, I'll return home."
The caller spoke again.
Orion smiled before pulling the phone off his ear to end the call.
Caspian quickly saved the video, straight to his drive. In a flash, he was off.
Graycie had never been the biggest threat all along.

Atlas's jaw tightened."Do you know who he is?""This is a police investigation, so you better stay out of this." The officer warned and Atlas was going to pull out his phone and call the Police chief when Caspian pressed his hand down. “I can't let you go with them, you're way above that.” “Way above the law or he's just being a coward?” Graycie played her stunt. “You're still talking?” Atlas was heading towards her but Caspian dashed him a cold stare."Don't."Atlas frowned. "Sir?""Don't make this worse." He said coldly. But Atlas wasn't buying this. He quickly stepped outside. “Who are you going to call? There's no need.” Graycie was already being led away. She turned her head toward Caspian. For the first time since their wedding disaster, she looked uncertain.Orion noticed it.Then he leaned closer to her as the officers moved them toward the elevators."Don't say anything."Caspian caught the whisper. Atlas nodded and went out again. Turning to sit, his eyes met with Jett. His stomach knotted. A few minutes later, Atlas returned, bobbing his head. “Yes, you can.” “Give me the HR’s contact.” Caspian ordered. Atlas snapped at one of his men who linked with Dr. Fred. A number was sent. It popped up on Caspian’s phone, tagged HR. “What do you need the HR for?” Orion got alarmed, rushing to Caspian but Atlas’ men held him. Graycie stood up, knowing something was about to happen. “You must be joking if you think you can do anything to my man.” “Bold enough!” Caspian smirked typing into his phone. She rushed at him aiming for the phone but Caspian flung his hand up with it, high above her. “Give me the phone?” “Is it yours?” He teased, amused with the idea of stressing the guts out of her. He recalled how she stressed the hell out of him with allegations that he was her nanny. The accusations that he was stalking her. Now, he would do no less. So Caspian wrote a letter. Endors

Prior to his past. What happened to his parents. The very reason he'd been mandated to do this. The type of disciplinarian his grandpa was. Merely receiving this request from his granddad, he knew what it was about. When his dad took control over Titan and within one year lavished the resources that the group of hospitals was close to bankruptcy, he knew his chances of inheriting this billion-dollar asset would be tough. He was a young boy then, but he just knew. His grandfather, Sir. Titan was a no-nonsense man. Never joked with his companies and was ready to cut off family to uphold his companies. And that's exactly what he did, cutting off his dad and mom. As if the exile wasn't enough, they ganged up to vote his grandfather out of the company so they could inherit fast and continue with their luxury lifestyle but Sir. Titan disowned his son. His wife, who was his mom seeing things turn up unexpectedly, divorced his dad a few months later, upon him being unable to keep up w
Chapter 4
“I’ve received three emergency calls in the last few minutes about a suspected serial killer.” Atlas said coldly. “Who's the serial killer?” His voice edged up in question but no one spoke. Just stares, suppressed winks and murmurs. His eyes darted to the security guards. “Who's the serial killer?” “Someone explained this to me. Now! Or I will call the police chief myself.”He yelled. “All the accusers will be arrested!” Their hearts were already drumming hard. Some turned in blame. Others regret, wishing they never came here. Leon staggered forward, clearly shaking. “Sir, this man drove into the hospital premises with a baby and a gun.” He turned and his colleagues rushed behind others’ backs thinking he was going to call them. “I thought you all were strong?” Caspian mocked but no one dared to answer. Meanwhile Atlas’ steady, raging gaze on Leon lingered. He picked up his story quickly. “Graycie here had claimed he was her nanny but he claimed they were about getting ma
Chapter 3
Caspian pulled out his phone in rage, angrily typing Graycie’s name. Her number showed and he tapped on it. It rang. “Come on, pick the call!” He growled angrily. It rang and rang, no one picked. He turned back, driving his fingers into his air in frustration when he recalled what Atlas had said. About to call him to tell of the calamity he was in, he caught sight of a couple. With the woman looking so familiar. His heart ceased a bit. He looked deeper. It was Graycie. For a brief moment, Caspian forgot everything. The guards disappeared from his mind. Even the thought of calling Atlas to tell him that he had arrived. For one second, he simply stood there, staring at the woman he had called his wife. She was laughing, curled up in the arms of the tall, gorgeous man, looking so much like a doctor. The doctor she'd talked of. Then a black Ferrari drove by stopping at the entrance of the block, the car opened. She stretched up towards the man's cheek and gave him a kiss. “Hey
