Adrian dodged with ease, but the box he was holding failed to escape the bald man’s weight.

It smashed onto the floor with the bald man falling on top of it.

“Arg!” The bald man yelled in pain as he tried to punch Adrian, “You fucking bastard, how dare you dodge!”

“OMG! What a mess!”

Just then, amid the insults, a striking woman with long hair and a curvaceous figure entered the reception hall.

She was Doris Greene, the Chief Executive Officer of Prime Group, a prominent company in Jolley City's business scene.

Doris had been frequently visiting Hennessey Group recently for business discussions with Todd, as Prime Group and Hennessey Group were partners. So she was already quite familiar with the staff of Hennessey Group.

To say Adrian wasn’t popular at Hennessey Group was an understatement. In fact, she had seen Adrian being humiliated and treated unfairly a couple of times.

However, Adrian had always been polite and patient, thus, she was rather fond of Adrian. This was also because she had witnessed Adrian catching and fixing errors several times in a row while his colleagues remained dumb and useless.

So, Doris felt compelled to intervene.

“Don’t tell me you guys are fighting! Be careful so Todd doesn't see this and punish you all.”

As the most beautiful and youngest CEO in town, Doris, of course, wasn’t a naive and stupid woman.

She was smart enough not to excuse Adrian separately because if she did, it would not help Adrian, but make him more hated by his colleagues.

So she decided to smooth things over.

“Come on, go back to work quickly. I promise I won’t tell Todd what I just witnessed.”

“You wait!” The bald man glared fiercely at Adrian, reluctantly putting down his fist.

He didn’t have the guts to fight in front of a CEO. If she reported it to Todd, he would be in trouble. However, he could wait. He swore to teach Adrian a vivid lesson.

Adrian didn’t spare the bald man a single glance. Of course, he had no interest in fools. Instead, he turned to look at Doris with a polite nod, appreciating her kindness for interfering and stopping the chaos.

Doris was the only person who had treated him kindly at the company so far, and he appreciated that.

So he said, “Are you here to meet Mr Todd, Ms? He is in his office, for your information.”

Hearing this, Doris winked politely, and without hesitation, she climbed the stairs toward Todd's office.

Shortly after Doris left for Todd's office, Adrian followed.

But he didn’t go into the office right away to submit his resignation letter. He didn’t want to interrupt Doris and Todd’s business discussion, so he patiently waited outside.

However, just as he was checking his phone, a huge BOOM came from Todd’s office.

“Mr...r To...dd, wh ... what di...d you d...o?! Ho...w... da...re you ...! Help!” Doris’ voice came next.

Her drink had been drugged!

As Doris began reacting to the drugs, Todd smirked and walked up to her, pushing her head up. Helplessly, her head fell backwards while the backrest supported her back.

Todd clapped sarcastically, nodding his head and smiling in satisfaction.

"Doris Greene, how interesting! So, a superwoman like yourself could become as weak as a deflated balloon... Hahaha... Screw you!" Todd said as he violently pushed Doris's head, causing her to fall against the next seat and onto the ground.

"So, you refused Hillary a relationship with you, huh? Who the hell do you think you are?" He yelled as he moved closer to Doris.

"Don’t you know that he is the regional manager of Precept Group, one of the largest and richest companies in Jolley City? How dare you reject him? You should be grateful that he even wanted you! You think you're smart, huh? What a smart fool! Hahaha..." Todd sneered, letting out a sarcastic laugh.

"In minutes, Hillary would have you kneel before himself! By then, you’d beg him to fuck you!"

Within seconds, he picked Doris up from the floor and threw her onto the office sofa next to them.

Leaning in close, he yelled in her ears, "Let's see how you'll save yourself from Hillary's grip, you fucking bitch!"

At the sound of Todd's voice, Doris shivered as she lay weak and helpless with her head and arm on the sofa, while the rest of her body touched the ground.

Hillary Reilly was one of Doris' important clients who had attempted to have a relationship with her, but Doris had not given him a chance, although she knew how powerful he was.

Doris hadn’t expected Hillary would leverage Todd's influence to get what he wanted.

Despite being drugged, Doris was still alert.

"Don't do... this... to me, Mr T..odd... please let me go..." Doris stammered, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
