But when he reached it, he found out the passage was blocked. He remembers what had happened, and his expression changed. Darius and the others had sealed this path when they escaped, and he had no way to reach the exit from here.

"Surely there must be another way," he said to himself.

Adrian’s golden eyes scanned the walls for an opening. Then he remembered the big hole he saw at this angle while the SS-Rank Goblin had dragged him through the secret passageway. His eyes traced the path the creature had taken, and he recalled how it had climbed upward before reaching the chamber when it first appeared.

He looked toward the wall and finally spotted something unusual. A section looking like a solid wall was in fact a fake wall hiding in the surrounding rock. Adrian ran up to it and pushed it. The hidden section slid back, revealing a narrow passage going upwards. He didn't waste another second and started to climb, grabbing the rocks with both hands and pulling himself up.

Another massive impact rattled the cave behind him.

BANG!

The wall was falling apart and Adrian could feel the danger closing in. His heart beat faster and he climbed harder, trying to put as much space as he could between himself and the goblin.

Another punch struck the wall, sending a crack spreading across the stone, but Adrian had already reached the top.

A crystal wall blocked his path.

Adrian grabbed it and tried to pull it away, but it refused to move. “Come on!” He struggled against the great structure, but his strength could not budge it. Frustration flickered across his face, and he stopped struggling, his golden eyes instead examining the structure.

There!

A tiny rock sat beneath the crystal wall. Adrian immediately reached down and removed it, triggering the mechanism that held the wall in place. The entire structure shifted before rolling downward with a heavy rumble, opening the passage ahead. Adrian rushed through the gap and landed on the other side, immediately recognising the area.

The traps.

This was the same path they had used when entering the cave. Adrian didn't stop to look around for long, as his eyes quickly scanned the entire area and revealed the hidden triggers, mechanisms, and dangers scattered along the route. He knew the position of each trap and how it worked, giving him the chance to dodge the dangers that had almost snagged them earlier.

He ran forward, ducking just before an arrow shot from the wall. Another mechanism activated, forcing him to change direction as several spikes burst from the ground behind him. Adrian kept moving, following the safest route his new eyes revealed and avoiding every trap in his path.

Then he heard a roar.

Adrian entire body stiffened as he glanced back and saw the SS-Rank Goblin moving through the cave. The creature was already closing the distance between them, moving far too quickly for him to outrun it. Adrian immediately faced forward and ran harder, but his breathing soon became rough, his lungs burnt, and his legs began to ache.

He couldn't keep this up for much longer.

Then he remembered something that might save his life.

The dungeon communication watch.

Every student who entered a dungeon received one. If a student became trapped inside when the dungeon gate closed, the watch could transmit an SOS signal to the academy, allowing the staff to pinpoint the student's location and teleport them back. Adrian immediately reached for his wrist, and his eyes widened with relief when he found the watch still there.

"Please work."

He activated it, and the screen lit up as the signal connected. Adrian's expression changed when he realised he was finally outside the signal jammers's range. Without hesitation, he pressed the emergency function and activated the SOS.

Behind him, the goblin's roar grew louder.

Adrian kept running and didn't dare look back as the sound of the approaching creature grew louder with each passing second and he could hear it coming, its heavy footsteps growing louder and louder until it was almost upon him. Then something burst from the darkness behind him, and Adrian felt the air shift as the goblin lunged straight toward his back.

He turned his head slightly and saw its claws stretching toward him. His eyes widened as he tried to run faster, but there was nowhere left to go. The claws were almost upon him when a white light suddenly appeared around his body, shining vertically from the ground upward.

The light swallowed him.

The goblin's claws tore through Adrian's clothes, leaving deep scratches across the fabric, but he was already gone. The white light disappeared, leaving the creature with nothing but the torn pieces of clothing caught between its claws.

Adrian reappeared at the academy dungeon departures unit and immediately collapsed onto the ground. He sat there gasping for breath, his chest rising and falling rapidly, in disbelief. For several seconds, he could barely process what had happened. He had escaped. He had actually survived an encounter with an SS-Rank monster.

An officer hurried toward him and crouched beside him. "Welcome back, boy." He stretched out his hand, offering to help Adrian stand. Adrian looked up at him, still breathing heavily, and accepted the assistance as the officer pulled him to his feet.

The man quickly examined him before turning toward a nearby female officer. "Take him to the clinic. Have him examined before he's allowed to return to the academy."

The female officer nodded immediately. "Yes, sir."

The man then looked back at Adrian. "It's not every day we see a student survive a dungeon world alone." The female officer moved beside Adrian and gently took his arm, supporting him as she led him away. Behind them, the other officers continued staring at the spot where he had appeared, still unable to believe that a student had returned alive after being trapped inside a dungeon with such a dangerous monster.

The news spread through the academy before Adrian even reached the clinic.

Reports began appearing on the academy portals, announcing that a student had survived a dungeon alone. Adrian picture was displayed beside the report, along with confirmation that the emergency teleportation route had been activated and that he had returned alive. Students quickly gathered around the portals, reading the news and staring at his picture as disbelief spread through the crowd.

"How did he survive?"

"Wasn't he in an A-Rank dungeon?"

"I heard there was an SS-Rank monster inside."

"No way."

The news eventually reached Darius and the others. Marcus stared at the portal in disbelief, his expression changing as he read the report again and again, that is not possible!!' he exclaimed, pointing toward the screen. "Against an SS-Rank monster? He can't possibly survive."

Lena stood beside him, staring silently at Adrian picture, while Selene studied the report with a tense expression. We saw that thing ourselves, she said, reminding them of the monster they had encountered inside the dungeon.

Darius remained quiet, his eyes fixed on Adrian's picture. After a moment, however, a smile slowly appeared on his face. "Let's wait until he comes back to the academy." Marcus turned to look at him, and Darius's smile grew slightly as he continued, "Then we'll ask him how a pathetic loser like him managed to survive."

Marcus said nothing, and Selene didn't respond either. Lena, however, remained completely silent, her eyes still fixed on Adrian's picture on the portal. Unlike the others, she looked genuinely shocked, unable to understand how the situation had turned out this way.

Adrian should have been dead.

She knew what had happened inside that dungeon, and she knew exactly what they had left behind. Yet somehow, against all expectations, he had survived.

The academy hospital was much quieter than Adrian expected. The moment the doctor finished checking the wounds, he ordered several scans, blood tests, and other examinations before Adrian was allowed to leave. Adrian sat on the edge of the examination bed while a machine passed over his body, its soft mechanical hum filling the room as images appeared on the screen beside the doctor. After several minutes, another nurse came in to take a blood sample, and then the doctor checked the results before looking at Adrian again."Why all these scans and tests?" Adrian finally asked, glancing at the equipment around him. "You already checked my wound, and it's completely healed."The doctor adjusted his glasses and looked at the scan in his hand. "Nothing important. We're just making sure you're still human and haven't mutated."Adrian raised an eyebrow."Mutated?""You've heard about it before, haven't you?" The doctor asked.Adrian nodded slowly. He had heard the rumors. Whenever a party en
