The waiter followed behind Maxwell and saw that he didn't go and sit down on a table. Instead, he walked up to another waiter and muttered a question in his ears.

“Where's the Manager's office?"

The man pointed to a particular direction and Maxwell followed the path that led him to the Manager's office.

He was about to knock on the door but changed his mind.

Maxwell went back to the restaurant hall and sat on one of the tables. He ordered some food for himself.

The demeaning waiter, who had seen that he was in trouble, decided to treat Maxwell better.

It was a way of atoning for his sins with the hope that Maxwell would forgive him and not get him into trouble by reporting him to the manager.

It was not the arrogant and demeaning waiter who took Maxwell's order. However, he decided to bring the meals for him.

When his food arrived, Maxwell didn't mind who served him or even looked at the waiter's face. He just went ahead and began to devour the food.
