Ethan stood in the middle of the room, his chest rising and falling heavily. His eyes moved slowly between Sophia and Victor, as though he was trying to convince himself that what he was seeing was not real. But the scene before him refused to change. Sophia stood there without shame, her robe loosely tied around her body. Victor stood beside her, his face calm, almost arrogant.

For a moment Ethan said nothing. His lips trembled slightly, and the tears gathering in his eyes made his vision blur.

Then he spoke.

“I have regretted having both of you in my life.”

His voice was low, heavy with pain.

“Just within a week… I have experienced the most painful betrayal of my entire life.”

A tear rolled down his cheek, but he made no effort to wipe it away. It dropped to the floor quietly.

Sophia looked at him as if he was nothing more than an annoyance.

“What will a wretched being like you do?” she asked coldly.

Her words carried no sympathy, no regret, nothing that suggested she once loved him.

“Wait,” she continued, folding her arms. “The lawyer will be here soon. Once he arrives, everything will be finalized and you will disappear from my life completely.”

Her gaze sharpened.

“I don’t know you anymore, Ethan.”

Then she glanced at Victor.

“But Victor… Victor is different.”

Ethan’s breathing became heavier.

His heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly inside his chest.

He looked at Sophia again, searching for even a small trace of the woman he once loved.

“I treated you well, Sophia,” he said quietly.

His voice cracked slightly.

“I loved you with everything I had.”

The memories of the past flashed across his mind—every sacrifice, every sleepless night, every decision he made for her happiness.

“Cheating on me with my best friend… Victor…” Ethan continued slowly.

He shook his head as though he still couldn’t understand it.

“That is the last thing I ever expected from you.”

Sophia did not respond.

She only watched him with a bored expression.

Ethan swallowed hard before speaking again.

“What have I done to deserve this?” he asked.

“I devoted my time to growing the company. I gave everything I had so your father’s business could succeed. Every contract, every expansion, every strategy—my ideas built the reputation your family enjoys today.”

His voice grew stronger.

“Your father stood proudly in front of people and accepted praise that should have been mine. But I never complained.”

His gaze hardened slightly.

“I endured the insults. I endured the humiliation. I endured everything because I believed in you.”

Sophia sighed, clearly tired of hearing him speak.

Before she could respond, Victor stepped forward.

“Ethan,” he said calmly.

“All that talk is useless.”

Ethan turned slowly toward him.

Victor placed a hand in his pocket.

“Whatever you did before is not enough to keep her,” he said.

His tone carried a quiet arrogance that made Ethan’s blood boil.

“She belongs to me now.”

For a brief moment the room fell silent.

Then something inside Ethan snapped.

Before Victor could say another word, Ethan moved forward and slapped him across the face.

The sound echoed loudly through the room.

Victor staggered slightly in shock.

Before he could recover, Ethan slapped him again.

This time even harder.

Victor’s head turned sharply from the impact.

For a few seconds he couldn’t even react. His mind struggled to process what had just happened.

The burning pain spreading across his cheek made his eyes widen.

Sophia gasped in anger.

“How dare you slap Victor!” she shouted.

Her voice filled the entire room.

But Ethan didn’t look at her.

He stood there breathing heavily, staring directly at Victor.

The tears were still flowing from his eyes, but his gaze now carried something darker than sadness.

“More words from him,” Ethan said slowly, his voice trembling with rage, “and I will teach him the lesson of his life.”

Victor touched his cheek carefully.

The humiliation of being slapped in front of Sophia made his face turn red with anger.

“You bastard…” he muttered.

But before he could move, the sound of a car entering the compound came from outside.

Sophia glanced toward the window.

A satisfied smile appeared on her lips.

“Perfect timing,” she said.

She walked toward the balcony and looked down.

“The lawyer is here.”

Ethan stood still.

His hands were trembling slightly, though whether it was from anger or heartbreak even he did not know.

Sophia turned back toward him with a cold expression.

“This is what you have turned into, Ethan,” she said.

“You think creating drama will make me stay?”

She laughed softly.

“Yes, you worked hard. Yes, you helped the company grow.”

Her eyes narrowed.

“But your best was not enough to keep me.”

Her voice became sharp.

“So stop pretending your sacrifices mean anything.”

She lifted her hand and pointed behind him.

“Now face the men standing behind you.”

Ethan slowly turned.

He had been so focused on Sophia and Victor that he didn’t notice the two large security guards who had quietly entered the room.

Before he could react, they grabbed him roughly.

“What are you doing?” Ethan demanded.

But the guards didn’t answer.

They dragged him toward the hallway.

Sophia’s voice followed them.

“Teach him some manners.”

The next moment a fist slammed into Ethan’s stomach.

The air rushed out of his lungs.

Before he could regain his balance, another punch landed on his face.

Pain exploded through his head.

Ethan stumbled, but the guards held him firmly.

Another blow struck his ribs.

And another.

And another.

The hallway echoed with the dull sounds of fists hitting flesh.

Ethan tried to fight back, but he was outnumbered.

Each strike made the pain inside his body spread wider.

His vision began to blur.

Blood trickled from the corner of his lip.

Still the guards did not stop.

They threw him against the wall before punching him again.

His body slid to the floor, but they pulled him up and continued the beating.

Inside the room, Sophia watched without emotion.

Victor stood beside her, his face still burning from the earlier slap.

Eventually the guards stepped back.

Ethan’s breathing was rough and uneven.

His body felt like it had been crushed under heavy stones.

Blood stained his shirt, and his face was already swelling.

Just then the lawyer entered the hallway.

He was a middle-aged man carrying a black briefcase.

He paused slightly when he saw Ethan’s condition, but he did not question it.

Sophia walked forward confidently.

“Bring him,” she ordered.

The guards dragged Ethan to his feet again.

His legs struggled to support his weight, but they forced him to stand.

They pushed him forward until he was standing directly in front of the lawyer.

Sophia crossed her arms and looked at him with disgust.

“Sign the divorce papers, you wretched poor man.”

The lawyer opened his briefcase and took out a set of documents.

He placed them on a small table nearby.

Ethan slowly lifted his head.

His face was bruised and swollen.

Blood still clung to the corner of his mouth.

Yet his eyes remained clear.

He looked at Sophia quietly.

“You will regret this,” he said.

His voice was calm, but the bitterness inside it was impossible to miss.

Sophia laughed.

“That is the most useless threat I have ever heard.”

The lawyer handed Ethan a pen.

“Please sign here,” he said.

Ethan stared at the paper.

The words on the page felt heavier than the pain in his body.

His marriage.

His life for the past years.

All reduced to ink and signatures.

His hand trembled slightly as he held the pen.

The memories flooded his mind.

The day he married Sophia.

The promises they made to each other.

The belief that they would build a future together.

Now those memories felt like lies.

His chest tightened painfully.

Tears filled his eyes again.

Not just tears of heartbreak.

But tears of humiliation.

Every insult.

Every sacrifice.

Every moment he ignored his own dignity for the sake of love.

All of it had led to this moment.

The pain inside him burned deeper than the wounds on his body.

For a long time Ethan simply stood there, staring at the document.

The room remained silent.

Sophia tapped her foot impatiently.

“Sign it,” she said.

Ethan slowly bent over the table.

The pen touched the paper.

His hand moved slowly.

Each letter of his name felt like a knife carving into his heart.

When he finished signing, he placed the pen down quietly.

The sound was small, but to Ethan it felt final.

The lawyer gathered the documents and examined the signature.

Sophia looked satisfied.

“It’s done,” she said.

The guards released Ethan.

He stood there silently, the weight of everything pressing down on him.

His eyes lifted one last time

toward Sophia and Victor.

The pain in them was deep.

But beneath that pain…

Something colder had begun to form.

A quiet hatred.

A promise that the humiliation of today would not be forgotten.

And as Ethan turned and walked slowly toward the door, one thought echoed through his mind again and again.

One day… they would pay for this.

  • Ethan preach his vision

Ethan had been sitting alone for a long time that night, staring at the faint flame of the candle placed on the wooden table before him. The small room was quiet except for the distant sound of crickets outside and the occasional whisper of wind brushing against the thin window. His surroundings were simple—too simple for a man who once believed he would stand among the greatest businessmen of his generation. Nothing around him carried the promise of success. Nothing seemed to encourage him.He leaned back slowly and looked around the room again. The cracked walls, the old chair, the worn table, and the faint smell of dust all reminded him how small his world had become. For a moment, he closed his eyes. His fingers tapped slowly on the table as his mind wrestled with un

He turned to Alexis, his closest friend and partner in numerous ventures, and said, “I think we should find Ethan.”Alexis, who had been reviewing financial projections, looked up, her expression serious. “I’ve thought of that too,” she said slowly. “He should be invited for this. Without him, I’m not sure anyone can pull it off.”Darius leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing as he clasped his hands together. “The worse part is that he’s nowhere to be found. And here we have a project—something that could put us leagues ahead of Sophia—that requires his exact skill set. If we don’t find him, someone else might, and then everything falls into her hands.”Alexis frowned. “Where do you think he would be right now?” she asked. Both of them were unusua
