Chapter fifty nine.

As Caleb touched her, Maria swiftly removed his hands with an aggressive push, causing him to fall to the ground. Initially, she thought he was pretending, so she ignored him.

However, when he didn't get up after a while, Maria lightly kicked him, but he remained unresponsive.

“Caleb,” she called out. But he didn't respond.

Maria knelt beside Caleb, shaking him gently.

"Caleb!" she called out, but he didn't respond. She leaned in, pressing her ear against his chest, but she couldn't hear a heartbeat.

Her eyes widened in panic as she screamed "Caleb!" She shook him harder, but he didn't move. "Help!" she screamed, trying to lift him up, but he was too heavy.

Just then, the door burst open, and Rose rushed in. Her eyes landed on Caleb's lifeless body, and she gasped.

Maria turned to Rose, pleading, "Please help me!"

Rose approached Maria and asked, "What's happening? How did this happen?”

Maria shook her head, tears streaming down her face.
