"Will your “please” rectify the mess you've caused?" Caleb barked, his anger boiling over. Maria swallowed hard, her eyes wide with fear.

Without warning, Caleb's anger turned violent. He lashed out at Maria, his belt landing with precision and force.

Maria winced in pain, her body recoiling from the impact. Each strike seemed to fuel Caleb's rage, making his actions more aggressive.

Suddenly, someone started pounding on the door. Caleb's expression changed, and he placed a finger on his lips, signaling Maria to be quiet. "Shh," he whispered, his eyes glinting with warning.

Maria nodded, her heart racing.

"Who's there?" Caleb called out, his voice aggressive.

"Rose," came the reply from the other side of the door.

Caleb's face twisted in a scowl, and he let out a soft hiss. Caleb walked to the door, his hands still crossed behind him, and opened it with a neutral expression.

"Is anything wrong?" he asked, his tone unreadable.
