“What? Yuck! How can I need someone like him?” Anna muttered with gritted teeth as she watched Reed from a distance with a deep frown on her face as if her uncle had said the most absurd thing.
If she ever needed him, it's to get back the blank card and the bodyguard's contact she so much cherished! She appreciated what he did to them but her uncle was taking things too far, obviously! Her uncle had so much complimented that man that she was starting to wonder if he was not some long lost son of his. That moment, Reed's cab passed by and the thought of the old man quickly faded off his mind. It did not take a while later before he eventually got back from the cab, looking around strangely. Jelly street was one of the slum streets downtown but the people were genuinely happy with each other despite the fact that they were poor. However, it was not what it seemed like now. It seemed deserted as if the people had been sent away from their homes. Then, he hesitated, wondering if he was in the wrong place. However, he was immediately convinced that he wasn't. He could still see the familiar houses from his memories of three years ago. At the end of his street was his family home, still detached from the main building which convinced him that he was in the right place. What then was going on? Had the people really deserted the area? Was his brother also a part of this movement? He wondered as he walked into the apartment only to see that the detached part of the house had been badly destroyed. For a while, Reed stood frozen as he tried to comprehend what the sight before him. His parents had poured their hard-earned money into the building. How then could it have ended up like this? Just when he was about to have the door creak open, he heard a violent noise that seemed extremely familiar. However, Reed, not wanting to be involved in anyone's affairs opened the door ajar but the cries came again that made his heart shake with pain. The last time he felt this kind of unbearable pain was when Sharon broke his heart. But this? It definitely wasn't about her! He thought and jammed the door before dashing off towards the direction of the cries that led him to the street's sauna. From a distance, he could see two people being beaten aggressively while being threatened while some people stood at a distance, pointing their hands at them while terrified. Only then did Reed realize why the street seemed deserted. It was all because of the scene that was before them. Yet, it felt strange and weird. That was because even though the people of Jelly street were poor, they looked out for each other. Now, two people were being bullied and they seemed frightened, not wanting to do anything about it? And besides, why did it seem to cause more uproar within him? “How could they do that to him after almost rendering him homeless? Do they know what they have caused him? In fact, at this rate, he will never be able to use his legs anymore!” “Besides, why did Douglas have to interfere in this situation?” Reed heard the moment he walked into their midst which further shocked him. Douglas was one of the respected old men in the street who was upright and just. Why then would the people watch Douglas being beaten? “Hypocrites!” He muttered as he kept walking forward, wanting to have a more clear view of what was going on. They had beaten the first man to a pulp and made sure he had mud all over his face to the extent that he became unrecognisable. Reed was sure he had never seen the man in his entire life judging by how tattered, wretched and badly beaten he looked. Even the old man who was hit earlier seemed to have passed out and so, was neglected by them. Just as he was about to turn around, he heard the man talk in groans as if he was about to give up on life, “I have repaid you everything you claim we owe you for the past three years my brother has been in jail” That moment, Reed's body stiffened as he looked sharply at the man. Was that really Vincent? His brother? He thought with his body vibrating with terror. Then, the people noticed the wretched pauper who stared at Vincent and the old man as if he knew them. Fear erupted from their minds as they whispered for him to leave, scared that he would have to go through the same fate. “Repaid?” One of the gang men asked with his voice laced in mockery. He hit his head so hard as if there were visible hairs on it but yet, bald. Then, he laughed shortly before he hit the weak man on his head again. It really is Vincent! Reed thought as his body trembled vigorously. “Fine,” Vincent said, his voice barely a whisper as he pulled out a few bundles of notes from his tattered trousers. “Have this but please don't take our house from us. There's no place my brother will return to if he comes back from jail” The man pleaded, falling on his knees with his heart aching with worry while the men looked at him and laughed. It seemed as though they enjoyed seeing him in misery. “Oh! Your unfortunate brother?” One of the men asked with a sneer while they all laughed. Only then did the man continue ”It's high time you give up on him because he died a long time ago! In fact, his eyes were first bulged out before they finished him in prison!” Reed's chest tightened when he heard that. Suddenly, a memory flashed before him. A man's eyes were budged out in the same prison he was in by the iron prisoners who were the ruthless assassins that worked for the wealthy and powerful people in the city. It turned out that they were sent to kill Reed but they did not dare to touch him. Instead, they tortured and executed another prisoner and sent out videos, claiming they finished him. At once, fury surged through Reed to the extent that his fingers curled tightly into his palms and made his knuckles crack. “Cornell” He muttered, “ I will definitely come for you!” He continued with his voice laced with venom. No one who had suffered in his place would die in vain! However, Vincent shook his head not wanting to believe what the thugs told him. His brother was definitely going to come back home which was why he held on for so long. “My brother will come back” He muttered, not wanting to believe their lies. “So, you see, We decide whatever happens to your miserable house! Judging by what your brother did to Mr. Cornell, you will forever be in debt! In fact, your life is a debt to us!” For a brief moment, the wind blew so hard that it suddenly sent waves of dust into the people's eyes that for a while, they were blinded. The moment the dust cleared, all eyes widened in horror. The leader sprawled on the ground with his legs twisted apart while the rest of the gang fell on their knees with their bones sprawled.Latest Chapter

Seventeen hours later~“Quick! Move the safe into the booth!” Mario screamed out in an order as he watched his subordinates did as he asked but it still seemed as if it was not enough. Suddenly, it felt as if someone was watching him but no matter how much he turned, he did not seem to see anyone. “My imaginations… that sick, strange man doesn't even know where I work. All he does it bluff!” He said with a sneer as he hurriedly went ahead to help his workers pack the loads since it felt as if they were wasting so much time. Inside his exquisite workplace were expensive furnitures and materials that he didn't want to leave behind and so, he'd ordered that every single piece of items including the slightest pin be moved. As for the building, he'd made sure to have it sold the previous night which wasn't difficult for him since most people wanted his space which was situated at the outskirts of the city. “How about this, sir? We can't take it along” Fabian asked, holding a piece of i

“Wait, what?” Mario asked in shock. He couldn't believe his ears. This wasn't the perfect ending he was expecting. What then should happen to the billion dollars he managed to swoop off the rich folks that adored him? What about his attires he usually maintained with that money? His assets? His numerous girlfriends? The people that he used money to oppress? How would he explain to everyone that he became a poor man just within a twinkle of an eye? All this is just because he is a follower of a strange man people would not even believe? Why on earth did he show himself to such a man? “Yes. That's my final decision” Reed replied him curtly with a cold smile that sent a shiver down his spine. “But…. It's what I've gathered all these while. My sweat and..““Do I need to remind you that you cheated a lot of people to get attain that position you are right now? How about I start with that?”A cold sweat formed at the corner of Mario's right face as his hands trembled. He knew what would

“Your boss?” Fabian asked with a stutter as he looked at Reed. It was that moment he realized how extremely bad he just made the situation become. “Yes, you idiot! And don't you ever refer to him as an ordinary person or else, you will cease to be my assistant!” But how could someone like this man be his boss? Didn't he know how embarrassing this situation seemed?Fabian asked. Then, he watched his boss’s lips curve into a light smile as he focused on the man. Something he hadn't don't to him for years. “Sir… do you know me?” He asked again. “I know who you are. You work directly for the gang Ruckus that go about stealing from people. I thought I told him and his gangs to stop but they didn't. Now, I wonder how exactly I should punish you for scamming people”A cold shiver ran down Mario's spine the moment he heard that. Why would their boss Ruckus rat them out? Had he perphas made a mistake by making himself known to their real boss?He thought as he cleared his throat and looked
Chapter 101
Almost immediately, a thought ocuured to Fabian. If these silly people he called guards could not defeat Reed, he would call his boss who would definitely show up with about fifty million squads. Then, Fabian turned around. His heart skipped multiple beats at once when he realized that people were staring at him. He knew that if he did not hurriedly defeat this man, words would go to many places that he had probably lost his sense of reasoning and could not stand a pauper! At once, he dialled his bosss’ contact with mixed reactions. He knew his boss would tell and tackle him because he was not able to get a man below his status down. At least, that was better than there people who held him in high esteem judge him!“Hello, Sir Mario!” Sir Mario? That sounded very familiar! Reed thought as he took a closer glance on the Ruby as if he had not seen it before. However, he was only trying to check if it was not contaminated during the process of snatching it from him by Fabian. Intentio

“He better be taught a lesson that this isn't a calibre of his people!” Anna replied with contempt. At the other end of the hall was Reed. Within him, he was being calculative. He knew that these people could not stand a chance with him when it came to power. However, something bothered him. Among the men they sent over to fight him was a particularl man he was not sure he could contend with in power because he did not have the inner depth energy to fight him because of how drained he was. In one of the teachings of Xavier, he'd warned him never to fight off people he was not sure because it not only would drain him, it could take so long before he got his powers restored back. Then, Reed smiled coldly at the thought of something. His fingers fisted almost immediately. If he could not fight him with his energy, he definitely could manipulate his mind using the Quarter’s energy. At once, he completely compelled his mind under a special spell using his eyes while the man he thought
Chapter 99
“How did I not see the beauty in this?” A cold stern looking man asked as he observed the natural ruby. For a start, he was known as Fabian- the greatest naturalist’s assistant. They went about gathering a lot of natural valuables and craft them into something else- more like fake to sell to rich people. However, they were too naive to understand that whatever he and his boss sold were just not original and hence, they took the original ones to themselves. On seeing the treasure in Reed's hands, he could not help but want it. At first, he'd called the person who auctioned the natural ruby. However, the man claimed to have sold the last piece to the bidder earlier who turned out to be Reed. Hence, he could not let go of it. Fabian was sure that if he brought the ruby to his boss, there would be great reward for him. After all, he and his boss did not seem to be on good terms for a while now because they had internal issues. “Boy, let me have this. I will pay you a million dollars”
