Alvin climbed back down and found a mask to cover his nose, in addition to a short broom and brush. He endured another torturous climb up and returned to his initial position.

The space was so compacted that he needed to crawl on his belly like some rat.

Rat! The moment he thought about it, he shuddered at the thought of a little rodent jumping on him. He shook his head, suppressing the disgust he felt, and used the broom to carefully sweep dirty matters aside, while also removing cobwebs to make a way for himself.

Soon, he arrived at the spot indicated on the digital map as the room he was looking for.

“System, is there something that I can use to see what's going on down there. Like an X-ray vision of some sort.” He said in his mind, sweating heavily.

He felt like someone in an oven, there was no source of air circulation in there, making his body look like steamed dumplings.

“There's an X-ray vision glass available indeed. You can have it, consider it a bonus from the

Soon, the energy settled down, healing all his old wounds and internal injuries he never told anyone about. For example, the wound from the metal spike during a street fight where he was ambushed on his way back from the Wright garage. Although the surface healed, leaving only a scar, deep inside, he knew that something was damaged, but couldn't bear to pay for a full body checkup when there were people who needed the money at home. So he convinced himself it was a tissue scar, and continued to endure. Unexpectedly, his chance encounter with Alvin made him whole. Other wounds and unnoticed sequelaes were erased. He felt more energetic, whole, and peaceful than he had in a very long time. He realized that the mysterious man truly didn't lie to him. It was even better than he initially thought. Ryker watched Xinara run out, towards the outdoor kitchen, and a small smile appeared on his face, full of doting affection. “Lovestruck fool.” Percy shuddered as he watched the scene before him. Ryker gave him a side eye. “It's because you're too ugly to find a girlfriend.” Percy’s expression changed instantly, and he glared daggers at him. Ryker looked away, pretending not to notice. He motioned towards another apprentice walking past while eating a sugarcane. “Ken, go check on little Xin. Watch her so she doesn't set the kitchen on fire. Help her light the gas. Be subtle about it, don't let her notice you're there to help.” Ken made a salute sign towards him, and turned to obey. He was slightly chubby, but cute. He was also intelligent and fiercely loyal. Half of Ryker's apprentices were older than he was, but it never stopped them from showing him the respect he deserved. He was that kind of person that commanded prestige wherever he went. Ryker was close to his subordi

“Do you think he will reach out to you?” Tiffany asked as they hit the road. “Who knows?” Alvin shrugged. “I guess I need to be optimistic.” “He will.” Alvin turned to look at Qin Li who just spoke and smiled. Tiffany looked at them through the mirror. “Why do you think so? He made himself pretty clear earlier. More importantly, he seems like the principled and rigid type that are very inflexible. The type that says no and stands by it.” Qin Li wiped the make-up Tiffany put on him with a facial cleanser and wipes, breathing out a sigh of relief. “Well, he's the stubborn principled type who would rather break than bend. I totally agree. For himself, he wouldn't, especially because it's obvious that whatever Alvin was recruiting him to do would be dangerous. But for his sick sister, he will take any chances. While he's a guy toughened by years of hardship and trying to survive on the streets, he's also very family oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility towards the peop

Alvin brought out a transparent vial, inside was a golden pill with spiral lines. The moment he brought it out, fresh aroma permeated the environment. It was subtle, but everyone felt as if their stress suddenly disappeared, and they got rejuvenated. Even the aches and pain were gone. However, it was so subtle that no one paid particular attention to it, nor linked it to the vial. “This is my sincerity.”Alvin looked at Ryker. “Just take it, and you will know if I'm able to heal your sister. You will know if I'm able to keep all the promises I made to you.” “What's that?” His tone was measured and uninterested. “The wounds on you are still fresh and painful. It can close up your injuries immediately and heal other internal injuries you know nothing of instantly, without side effects. This is an item money cannot buy, it's not in the market. Money is useless when it comes to these kinds of things. That's why I'm using it to show my sincerity.” Ryker picked up the vial to examin
