Alvin climbed back down and found a mask to cover his nose, in addition to a short broom and brush. He endured another torturous climb up and returned to his initial position.

The space was so compacted that he needed to crawl on his belly like some rat.

Rat! The moment he thought about it, he shuddered at the thought of a little rodent jumping on him. He shook his head, suppressing the disgust he felt, and used the broom to carefully sweep dirty matters aside, while also removing cobwebs to make a way for himself.

Soon, he arrived at the spot indicated on the digital map as the room he was looking for.

“System, is there something that I can use to see what's going on down there. Like an X-ray vision of some sort.” He said in his mind, sweating heavily.

He felt like someone in an oven, there was no source of air circulation in there, making his body look like steamed dumplings.

“There's an X-ray vision glass available indeed. You can have it, consider it a bonus from the

Murong Wuque stood stunned, not believing his ears. What private military base? Give it to Alvin? “Alvin, do you still have a fever?” Alvin gave him a side eye and kept silent. Murong Wuque tried to check his forehead and got his hand knocked away. “I don't have a fever. I just need to use your military base for something.” He scoffed at Alvin's self righteous words. He said it as if it was a matter of course, and he didn't expect to be rejected. A very simple request. “Do you even know how much it costs, yet you expect me to hand it over just because you said so?” Alvin’s lips twitched, he didn't have an answer to that. Seeing Murong Wuque shake his head wryly, he hastened to explain. “I'm not asking for ownership. Just temporal use, maybe give me access to keep some people there till I finish adjusting a few things on my end. It's not that hard.” “You do realize my military base is a research lab, and letting in random people might boomerang, causing me to lose everything.”

“What's wrong?” Shi Yue soon noticed the despair on his face. “If he's the one in charge of it, I might as well forget about it.” He turned to her. “Look, even you knew that he had that kind of thing. But he didn't tell me, he never tells me about any plans of his.” “How about you? Do you ever tell him every one of your plans and get approval?” His frown was enough to tell her all she needed to know. “See? You never tell him anything because it's your personal business and task. It's the same for him. You're both men, it's not as if you're dating or something. It makes sense that you don't bother the other and do your thing on your own.” “If you put it like that, does that mean you're dating him?” Shi Yue kept silent and Alvin’s heart began to pound erratically, sweat making his palm clammy. She poked his arm, incredulous. “What nonsense are you thinking about? It's your Iceman we're talking about. The monk-like holistic prince of the murong imperial clan. When will it ever be

Villa number SevenThis was indeed suspicious. He needed to look into it. Alvin ignored the loud chatter and surrounding chaos. He had more important things to do than engage in banters. After a quick trip to his room to fix up breakfast for the sleeping Murong Wuque, he returned to his home office. “System confirm for me. Is Senator Bertrand really dead?”“Yes, master. He's dead. His life lamp kept in his family villa went off, showing he's no longer alive. However, his body hasn't been found yet. Which is because you didn't leave any bodies to be found. They seemed to want to conceal it but someone leaked it ahead of time.”Alvin was taking mental notes, reviewing his plans. If he needed to know more about the evil organization and the people they have in positions of power, investigating Senator Bertrand’s inner circle might help. “System, can you help with the investigations?”“Of course. However, my abilities are limited. Since I'm a bot, I'm barred from accessing certain top

A soft ding woke Alvin up from slumber. After circulating energy from the dishes last night, and using it to heal, he had taken his bath and gone to sleep. He stirred, noting that his body no longer felt weak and exhausted. “Mission successful.” The system's metallic voice came again. Alvin frowned. What mission was successful? Hadn't he been sleeping here all along? It was then he noticed the weight around his waist, and his face being placed against a warm chest. He frowned and opened his eyes. Muring Wuque was hugging him as he slept, Alvin’s face buried against his chest. His arms were around Alvin's waist, his leg crossed over Alvin’s. He sighed, relaxing back into Murong Wuque's arms. That must have contributed to his good night's rest. Alvin and Murong Wuque weren't people who slept much. Time was better spent doing tasks than sleeping. Each night, only a very short time was dedicated to sleeping. So anytime he manages to sleep for a longer time, his body notices

While the captain was irritated with what he deemed a waste of time, the rest joked and shared stories. Jasper had finished his business in a deserted area, and dug a pit, burying his waste with sand. His torchlight caught the reflection of something and he frowned, wondering what it could be in the middle of a thick jungle. He made his way to the spot to get a closer look at the item. He carefully moved it, ready to attack or escape should anything dangerous appear. It was just a carton. He sighed and shook his head. “Which fool hides things like this? Will covering it with grass prevent others from seeing them?”. As he turned to leave, an idea occurred to him. He raised the carton, and had a closer look at it, inspecting the edges. There it was. The unique seal of their organization’s shipping company. This was part of the stolen cargo. Jasper didn't know whether to cry or laugh. They've spent two nights and a day searching to no avail, only to inadvertently find it when

No one dared to breathe loudly, all staring at Murong Wuque in shock. He froze, the spoon halfway to his mouth. He gagged and pinched his nose, putting down the spoon. He looked at Alvin who had one brow raised, waiting for him to strike. To everyone’s surprise, Murong Wuque hissed and continued to eat. Alvin’s lips twitched, and he couldn't help but smile. He forced himself to suppress the smile, lest others think he had gone crazy. “I thought you had OCD, been cured?” “I do. I just know you're lying.” He drank the last drop, chewing down the remaining mushrooms. He went for the next bowl, devouring it hungrily. Soon, the food enough for five people began to go down. Alvin made a tsk tsk tsk sound with his tongue, and sat down to eat. “This pheasant is tender, juicy, and chewy. I give you seventy-five percent.” Alvin rolled his eyes and popped the stewed mushrooms into his mouth. Leah poured from where she sat. “How partial! Only he gets to eat big brother's food and
