“Probably. She was too beautiful, attracting lustful gazes to herself.” The system replied playfully.

Alvin sighed and stood up. He walked closer to the wall dividing the building from the restaurant behind it and pointed the USB at it.

A video came on, showing Leah's startled scream.

“Pretty girl, why don't you come accompany big brother to have a few drinks?” James asked.

“No, I'm going home.” Leah muttered timidly, shielding her head with her arms. The man tried to drag her along, making her scream out.

“What are you trying to pretend to be innocent for? All women are sluts once they're behind closed doors. If you know what's good for you, you better follow me. I might even give you some money after I'm done playing with you.” The man said, using a harsh tone, while gripping her arm tightly. Leah looked at him fearfully and he grabbed her ass, squeezing it. She screamed, and his hand slid up her thighs.

“What are you pretending for when you like it? Or do you think thi

Five minutes more. Time was running out. Alvin maneuvered between tree and obstacles, till he came to a clearing, under a rock at the foot of the mountain. “System, scan my ring and find which of the packages have the tracker's mark.” “Alright.” A warm sensation rose up in Alvin's chest, he could taste metal in his mouth. Blood. His internals were badly mangled up and he couldn't afford to bloodlet for fear of leaving DNA traces. “Found them. There are three cartons with tracking spells and devices on them.” Alvin brought them out. And selected the wraps where the items were hidden. Then he brought out a carton of heroin, placing the other three wraps in the half empty carton of heroin. “I need an acid detonation spell. I will leave it here for them to find. And once they take it with them. Hmph.” Alvin's heart was filled with bitterness. They made him suffer. If he let them go without paying them back in kind, he wouldn't be reconciled. His muscles were going weak, holdi

  • NARROW ESCAPE 3

Alvin didn't need to think. He already knew the worst evil. If the road is that narrow. It means that they won't expect someone to pass through it. They will be focused on the alleys, and main roads, that are actually motorable. “System, is there a way to block surveillance or place a shield around me? If I take the valley side behind the car garage, the person monitoring me might find out my route.” “Let me check if there are available methods.” Alvin's body was burning up. Despite sealing his surface injuries, he was turning paler by the second. He didn't know if it was as a result of internal bleeding or poison. He didn't know what to make of the current situation of his body. He was just holding on… pushing on. “Master, method found. It will cost five hundred premium system points. You're deficient in system points. However, we can make the transaction and you may balance up whenever you get it, with an interest of five points.” Five hundred points to pay five hundred an

  • NARROW ESCAPE 2

Alvin now understood the weird feeling that kept bugging him. Someone placed surveillance on the cargo. No matter how fast he ran, they would find it. “System, find me the nearest wilderness. Hurry.” “You only have twenty-two minutes before your reserve soul power empties out. You won't be able to protect yourself then. You need to get to safety where there are people to take care of you.” Alvin shook his head in firm refusal. Going back to villa number seven was indeed the safest option—for him. Yet, it will expose their base and entire identity to the evil cultivators, putting everyone at risk. With the level of proficiency he had seen from the evil organization, if they ever strike a surprise attack on Villa number seven, it's unknown if they would make it out without a scratch. Oliver was there. Martha is old and frail. These two people carried the greatest risk. Martha was just an old woman, who only knew how to cook and clean. A sweet soul. Oliver was a bright teen,

Alvin's body was burning up, he had a vague feeling that one of the attacks that grazed him had poison in it. Just as he reappeared at the abandoned industrial area, he noticed men waiting there. An aura of danger surrounded them, and they patrolled the place, as if searching for something. A green flare signal tore into the sky, and the men simultaneously looked up. “This is bad. It has been sabotaged.” “Surround the area, block every road leading to the town. No one remotely suspicious is allowed to leave. It's better to kill a hundred innocent people than to let the culprits escape. Find them.” A lanky man barked, his cadence low and deadly. “Squad two, follow me to assist the grand elder.” “This is terrible.” Alvin muttered. He collapsed against the tree, his lungs burning. Drawing in air became a gruelling task. He bit down on his tongue hoping the pain would rid off the fogginess in his head. He looked at the elite assassins quickly falling into formations in readin

  • TOUGHER THAN EXPECTED

The robed figure raised a hand lazily. The air imploded. Alvin crossed the sword before him, blocking the attack. The impact hurled him back like a rag doll, smashing him through two containers. Ribs fractured, and he felt a warm sensation in his throat. Blood. He knew that much. Luckily, his absorbent material didn't let any blood drop. His face was covered with visors, protecting his eyes Pain detonated through his body, white-hot and blinding. He swung his sword around, destroying the container and swiftly emerging out of the rubbles. The grandmaster floated forward, feet still not touching the earth. “You dare steal from us? Does your family have enough lives to pay back?” Alvin activated his ghost step techniques, disappearing from the spot. Tens of attacks descended on the man in a nanosecond. With a swift swing of his bead, the man formed an arc, bouncing the attack back. Stray energy hit the masked men who were loading the remaining ones into the trucks. Three pul

Alvin slammed his palm onto the ground. “Shadow Step!” He became a blur, moving like a phantom, with each step more cartons disappeared, while the bullets caught other unfortunate people. But none of the men acted as if they felt the pain. Alvin reappeared atop a container, blood already seeping from a shallow graze along his ribs. The man in ripped jeans appeared behind him a black whip flying out like a snake tail. Alvin dodged the whip, bending in a position that defied gravity, forming a thirty degree angle with the container surface where he was. The man's eyes narrowed and he smirked. “Quite a bold one huh? Either you're unfathomably brave, or incredibly stupid. You even came alone.” Alvin scoffed and disappeared from the spot, making the bullets and dagger pointed at him hit others. “To deal with wastes like you…” Alvin whispered behind the man, stabbing four nails into his back. “Only I am enough.” The man groaned and expelled the nails. Too late. The nails
