Alvin smirked, enjoying the look of fear on the man's face. After a few seconds, he released his grasp, letting the man hit the floor with a thud.

“Now speak, did my sister steal your phone?” Alvin asked, looking down at the man sprawled on the floor, gasping for air.

“Look at this. They're from a family of criminals. The sister is a vixen and a thief, while the brother is a murderer.” The man shouted, drawing back in horror. The rest of his companions all had broken limbs unable to help him. His gang was useless at this point. Having them was the same thing as not having. He was on his own.

Alvin smirked at him, and stepped on his feet.

“Wrong answer. Did she steal or not?” He suddenly asked, abruptly applying pressure on his leg, which made the man scream in pain at the sensation of his leg being squashed.

“She stole from me. I have not asked for compensation yet, but you're already attacking me, you mad man.” He shouted, as huge beads of sweat rolled down his body. His un

However, Alvin had forgotten the time he wished to see his soulmate. That slight moment of yearning made his soul connect to the target, causing his emotions to roll into Murong Wuque’s heart. “You had seemed afraid, and anxious, then you suddenly stopped trying, as if you had accepted death since there was no way out.” Alvin was immediately stunned. He had felt exactly like that. How could Murong Wuque be able to know and feel the things in his heart? It suddenly made him feel naked and exposed, as if someone had thrown the door of his bathroom wide open, exposing his embarrassing, dirty feelings to the world. Murong Wuque’s eyes softened and he caressed Alvin's cheek, still wearing an expressionless face. “Since you knew that you were going to do something difficult, why didn't you let me come with you?” Alvin looked away, knowing that he couldn't explain to him about the system. “The mission was meant to be carried out alone.” “Even though it was certain you wouldn't ma

  • This is how I die

The last one was completed in a second and he used a drifting technique to appear beneath the second vehicle. Meanwhile, the bombs that were removed were now in his apron, resting against his thighs because he had nowhere to dispose of them. Indeed, these kinds of system missions required a heart of rock filled with bravery to carry through. Normal people wouldn't have the guts to do whatever they were asked to, knowing that day might be their last since they could die at any moment during the mission. Alvin's hands worked fast, dismantling the bombs under the second car. “Thirty seconds to go.” Alvin took a deep breath, trying to be as fast as possible, but whoever planted the bomb did a careful job. The bomb timer was already counting down with the system, showing that it might explode at any moment. He soon moved to the last one which seemed more complicated than the rest. There was a camera lens attached to the last bomb, probably so the tweeps could see when everything

Alvin zoomed through the traffic. Others only saw a gust of red wind zoom past them, his speedometer was showing 240km/ hr, but he only kept accelerating. Luckily, his Lambo was modified with a super engine, helping it to keep up. If it was an average vehicle that had not undergone modifications, it would have given way under the first few seconds. Time seemed to pass faster than ever, making him even more anxious. “System, I need five wind talismans.”“Five system points.”“Deduct it!” The cost was the least of Alvin's problems at the moment, making it in time was. He was not just anxious because of the consequences that would come with failing the mission, he was more disturbed because of the lives of a hundred innocent school children and their teachers that would be lost if he failed. There were lots of things at stake, making blood pump at lightning speed in his brain. Just like when he rescued Leah, just like when he rescued Oliver, he was racing against time again. He had al

  • Setting off

Alvin didn't know whether to laugh or cry. After the morning's stressful incident, he programmed his day to rest and laze around. Yet, the system was sending him on an emergency system mission, without even asking him if he was ready, in the most unsuitable place of all. He was so far from home, and wasn't with any equipment or weapon, leaving him totally unprepared. “Warning! Lives at stake! Accept now.”“Accept!” He muttered wearily.“Namlen Hills, Jurax park, Namdong county, two school buses carrying a hundred school children have been strapped with bombs by terrorists. The children's school took them for a picnic and would soon return. The bomb is meant to explode in twenty minutes, get the bomb away from children and preserve their lives.”Alvin’s mouth dropped open. Wasn't this asking him to sacrifice his life to save the children? “System, Namdong county is ninety kilometers away in another state, the earliest I can get there is an hour. Teleportation wouldn't work either b

The workers stood awkwardly, watching the exchange. The director made a face and shrank back, to avoid getting hit by stray bullets from the two upset elephants. Alvin waited for a while, but there was still no reaction from him. “If you don't select it, I will do the selection. And if you refuse to wear them because they're not up to your taste, we're gonna fight hard.” That finally got Murong Wuque and he snickered, his perfect lips turning up in disdain. “Fight? Don't you mean get beaten? Can you even fight me? You will just be asking for a beating with multiple broken bones, nothing else.” Alvin rolled his eyes and sucked his teeth. “Cocky bastard.” He exhaled heavily and leaned closer to Murong Wuque, his fingers slowly encircling his neck. “Alright now, immortal prince of heaven, please select what you find agreeable. Don't tempt me into biting your ears.” Murong Wuque's breath caught in his throat and he quickly pushed Alvin away, his heart pounding like bass dr

  • Too troublesome

The director shrank back at that and immediately became terrified. Indeed, she believed Alvin literally, especially because of iceman’s aloof temperament and ice cold arrogance. He carried himself like an otherworldly being, looking down on all other creatures. If the chairman and owner of Empire group worth trillions, who was said to own other companies, can take the place of a servant before the mysterious man, connecting to him with humility, his heaven defying identity shouldn't be too hard to decipher. While the chairman might be a king, the mysterious one could be the king maker, one of the people pushing buttons behind the scenes and determining the next trillionaire. “I'm so sorry, I was not trying to be snobbish. I was only trying to make the chairman feel welcome.” “So what's the difference between the chairman and other guests? Or do you worship VIPs and disdain others? If I was the fanfare type, I would have ordered the mall to be sealed for my use, but I came here
