Alvin smirked, enjoying the look of fear on the man's face. After a few seconds, he released his grasp, letting the man hit the floor with a thud.

“Now speak, did my sister steal your phone?” Alvin asked, looking down at the man sprawled on the floor, gasping for air.

“Look at this. They're from a family of criminals. The sister is a vixen and a thief, while the brother is a murderer.” The man shouted, drawing back in horror. The rest of his companions all had broken limbs unable to help him. His gang was useless at this point. Having them was the same thing as not having. He was on his own.

Alvin smirked at him, and stepped on his feet.

“Wrong answer. Did she steal or not?” He suddenly asked, abruptly applying pressure on his leg, which made the man scream in pain at the sensation of his leg being squashed.

“She stole from me. I have not asked for compensation yet, but you're already attacking me, you mad man.” He shouted, as huge beads of sweat rolled down his body. His un

  • A MAN WORTHY OF YOU

Celestial Realm Jian Continent, Jian Clan, Heaven Sword peak Mists of spiritual energy covered the heavenly sword peak… so thick that outsiders couldn't see the mountain, only the lingering thick fog. At the highest point, a handsome young man was sitting cross legged, surrounded by swords made of spiritual energy and sword intent, floating around him. On his forehead, there was a tiny sword shaped golden glow, lighting up his forehead. He was very handsome, with an aura that made him seem both noble and righteous. On his clothes were embroideries of a golden dragon holding a sword between its claws. The swords surrounding the young men were rotating, filled with vital spiritual energy. The pavilion behind him was giving off a slight vibrating sound, as if showing resonance with the young man. He suddenly opened his eyes and a burst of golden light flashed, showing the reflection of swords in his eyes. He slowly exhaled, and the swords merged into one elegant sword, and tel

  • A HOME FILLED WITH WARMTH

Over the next four days, Alvin spent it auditing Empire group, queens group, Ascension Airlines, and Oceania hotels belonging to him. He did all with his face covered to prevent someone connecting him to the chairman of SW entertainment. Queens group had a little corruption, Empire group was slightly okay with most employees doing their parts and only stealing by adding a little extra to goods while selling to high profile clients. But Ascension airlines had quite a few unqualified staff and corrupt spies. Like in SW, he made a mass re-examination, chasing away those that couldn't pass the exams. All the incompetent employees that got in by connection were let off. This sparked a wave of change in the industry. Many CEOs also carried out audits in their companies, with most discovering huge discrepancies that would have torn their empire down. The labor market saw a huge change. Many people already working became unemployed or demoted overnight, and lots of unemployed fresh g

  • Playing the good man

For a moment, Alvin’s eyes darkened, his jaw twitching. It was very brief, but the camera caught it. Murong Wuque gave him a squeeze, a silent reminder to stay sane. After a while Alvin laughed. “Um, I don't really know the answer you expected. But I will be honest.” “I never fabricated evidence in any situation. I admit, I intentionally hid my true abilities because I wanted to gather evidence of what they did to me. I was also healing from trauma. Every evidence tendered, before and now, were truths, nothing but the truth according to investigations made.” He paused and forced a smile. “Did I want to make a scapegoat of Lily? Negative publicity is never a good thing for companies. Why would I risk my company to create a ruse? The effort it takes to make an audit spanning multiple years, lawsuits and recovery of debts, I'm sure even people not in business understand. However, I won't let evil continue before my eyes, especially not in my turf.” “All I did was drag SW b

  • WAR OF WORDS

All over the headlines were news about Dolcy studios facing lawsuits. They had denied all relationships with Lily, but the evidence was staggering. There were rumors that their company was going through an internal conflict because of the scandal. Director Britney wasn't let off either. He had to surrender two percent of his three percent shares to pay for damages. Alvin had helpfully paid for it in cash and injected it back to the company. He hadn't wanted to let go of the shares in his hands, but Alvin and Gavin Sinclair, the lawyer the system found to prosecute them, made it impossible for him to raise cash from any other sources, forcing him to sell his shares to Alvin to leave police custody. Katarina sold her villa, and her wealthy fianceé helped her raise money for the rest, getting her out of jail. The only one stuck was Lily, her beloved Daniel Colby didn't want to get involved, more concerned about protecting his own interests. The lawsuit was out in full swing and

  • filling the cracks

“I…” She began to say. Alvin raised his hand. “You don't need to say anything. It's decided. Once you get into the role, I'm sure you'll find your job quite enjoyable.” He then turned to Elena. “Prepare the employment contract. Add these: no one can fire her casually, except in the situation where she's made a grave mistake affecting the company and its people. Also, any amount embezzled would be paid back three times when discovered.” The staff in the room were shocked on hearing this. This office seemed prestigious at the surface but it was actually a fiery pit. “I knew it. You were looking for whom to push to hell.” Mireille muttered. Alvin smiled. “I don't think there's any reason for you to be upset. I have plans to give you an apartment, a car, and wardrobe allowance. There’s still your attractive salary. You're not losing out… unless.” He paused and slowly stood up, his eyes trained on Mireille's face as if trying to dissect something, slowly inching forth. A few cent

  • MIREILLE

Alvin smiled, hoping he looked warm enough to dispel whatever suspicions she might hold towards him due to the multiple rumors swirling around. She didn't bow like others, her shoulders were squared, jaw held high, having that aristocratic pride radiating from her in waves.Alvin’s eyes slightly narrowed. “Miss Jonathan, the way you stare at me, do you have a misunderstanding about me? Or have we clashed before?” Mireille barely suppressed an eye roll. Although the movement was so brief, the vigilant Alvin still caught it before she stopped herself. “How do you want me to look at you, chairman Kent?” She took a step closer, and bent slightly to bring her face closer to Alvin's. “Like this?”Alvin was stunned by her boldness. She moved away the next second, and he gasped in anger. Murong Wuque grabbed his wrist, stopping him from saying anything. He hissed and kept quiet. She stepped back and shook her head. “If you expect me to pander to you and flatter you, I'm sorry, you got th
