The director's silence made Troy feel even more angrier and humiliated than he already was.

“Director, you kept silent all these while. Are you intentionally disregarding my honor?” He asked calmly, making the director turn to him.

“Of course not, Master Caulfield. It's just that this situation is a bit delicate. We need to proceed with caution.”

The director felt distressed. On one side was Alvin with unknown origins, on the other side was Troy Caulfield from the powerful Caulfield family who supported Top Taste lots of times.

“I'm a VIP here, and I don't need to tell you how important my boyfriend is to the growth of Top Taste. Yet, you will risk offending us for this beggar.” Lisa shouted angrily.

The director immediately got angry.

“If you didn't hurt the little girl so much I won't be in so much dilemma. Yet you're still in the mood to shout. You assaulted someone younger, what if she's a minor? The wound on her leg is at least one centimeter deep. You could get sued

Alvin chuckled coldly, and smiled.“You're the sky, and I'm the dust? How about you show me how broad and high your sky really is?”“You better start begging for mercy right now. Or else…” Lisa began to say, her voice steeped in arrogance. “Or else what? Are you going to ask your mighty boyfriend to break my legs?” Alvin said in a mocking tone, and turned to Troy who rolled his eyes and sighed. “How about this? Young master, we can pay for your sister to get treated first. Please…”“Do I look that poor that I can't afford my sister's medical bills?” Alvin asked, still smiling. “No, no, no. Young master. Can you please let this go? You should go to the hospital first.” The director said again, forcing a smile that looked uglier than crying on his face. “Did I say they could leave?” Lisa shouted, making their attention to return to her once more. Troy took in a breath through clenched teeth, furious, while the director gritted his teeth. They were trying to lure Alvin away and sav

Even Alvin himself was stunned when he heard Lisa's accusation. Lisa laughed on seeing his expression, thinking he was terrified. “I told you all, didn't I? This idiot was a beggar in college. Who would have expected that he would go down the dark path after graduation? Arrest him immediately. What are you waiting for?”“Slander is a huge crime. Are you sure you want to do this? I could send you to jail for smearing my reputation with mud.” Alvin said in a cold voice. None of his previous playfulness could be seen. All the customers that were eating in the restaurant when the scuffle started were still there. Most of them were taking videos, while the others were watching with interest. If he's unable to clear this misunderstanding, he might as well say goodbye to his career as an idol, because one day, such an issue might crop up again if one of those watching accuses him of the same crime. “You, send me to jail? You look quite angry. I'm right, aren't I? You stole the card. The

“System. What's happening?” He whispered, but there was no reply from the system. Lisa laughed loudly and looked at Alvin in contempt. “I knew it. You criminal. What do you have to say?” The director looked baffled, not expecting this result. “Why are you so sure the reason for the verification failure is because it was stolen. What if he doesn't have the authority to examine such a confidential card? Or do you think the supreme black card is something that can be handled lightly?” Alvin asked with a smile, still maintaining that same quiet grace. “Ha! No thief would agree they stole, even if you catch them with their hands in the meat pot. Even at this point you're still arguing. Just go down on your knees and do what you should. Then hand over the card. Maybe, I will let you leave alive.” Lisa said with her hands clasped behind her in a haughty pose. Alvin smiled and touched his nose again. “Wow. You have quite the big belly. You want to take my supreme black card usin

Why are you suddenly rushing to me now that you have lost the bet? Don't sully my reputation with your stupidity. Get lost and go keep your end of the bargain. He said coldly and pushed her towards Alvin. She staggered and Alvin gave her a kick to the back of her knees, making her fall to the ground with a thump. She groaned in pain and gritted her teeth. “Why aren't you apologizing?” Alvin asked, smiling at her. However, the smile didn't seem to reach his eyes; he was merely showing his teeth. “You want me to apologize to you. Who do you think you are?” Lisa shouted, her cheeks burning with the humiliation of being forced to kneel. “I am nobody.” Alvin whispered and kicked her arm, making it give out a crunch, which was accompanied by her scream. Just then, Leah who had been sile

Do you even know what honor is, talk more of virtue? How did he slander you? Did he lie? Everything he said there was true, you were a slut in the university, having group sex, in a public space nonetheless. How many times did you attend fraternity parties with you as the boys’ menu? It's okay to have one or two boyfriends, but a slut like you has absolutely no place beside me. I have heard rumors from my friends about seeing someone like you bent over in a club, taking hot doggy while moaning shamelessly. But now, I realize it was not just someone like you. It was you. “Young master, is she alright?” The director asked anxiously. “Does she look alright to you? She fainted due to blood loss. I'm afraid we no longer have the time to eat. Please pack three servings of nutritious food, there should be enough vegetables and protein. And also, there should be varieties of dishes. Hurry up and bring it to the car, I need to get her treated.” Alvin replied and quickly stood up with Leah in his arms. He quickly opened the glass door with his legs and carried Leah out. He didn't notice Lisa who was hiding behind a flower hedge watching them. He got closer to the Lamborghini and the car doors automatically opened on their own. He suddenly heard a beep in his mind, followed by “mission successful.” He had totally forgotten about the mission because his attention had been occupied with Leah who collapsed on him. “You have been rewarded with the ultimate cooking recipe, magic chef, that can prepare any dish in the world. He turned to see the director still waiting, making him frown. “Is there a problem?” As if he just remembered something, his eyes widened and he sighed, as if scolding himself. “Oh! The dining set that was damaged during the fight. How much is it?” “No, no, no. That's not it. It's the fault of our restaurant for not being vigilant enough, and letting such things happen right before our eyes. It's also our fault for having blind, incompetent guards who attacked you. You don't have to bother. The restaurant will replace the destroyed furniture this time.” The director quickly replied, waving his hands before him. Alvin felt the corner of his lips twitch. As he drove forward, he saw the outline of an apartment complex, built in a rectangular shape. It was five stories tall. They were built after the entrance, making him assume that it was the staff quarters meant for the housing staff and security guards. The building was surrounded by a stone courtyard and little dwarf palm trees placed at strategic points alongside stone benches. Opposite it was a garden and a narrow walkway, with buggies parked close to the fence. The woman who welcomed him entered one of the buggies, driving after him. “Hmmm? Is the property so big that she needs buggies to navigate around it?” Alvin muttered, noticing her through the side mirror. His attention returned to the scene before him. Immediately after the building were gardens on either side of him and he could see exotic birds in the right side of it. However, he had no interest in examining them. Driveways branched out in to three after the gardens. One continued straight ahead, one to the right,

Alvin was breathing heavily as he leaned against his needle for support, his body suit was stained with filth, and he was wheezing. Zhang Chen killed the last one standing, and stabbed his sword into the ground. Alvin looked at him with a newfound respect. Since he was that strong, why didn't he do much in the underground palace, leaving Murong Wuque, Alvin, Qin Li, Su Ying and Chu Feng to do the bulk of the work. He felt cheated but he could only sigh and console himself with the fact that he was gaining real combat experience through the bitter battles he had been engaging in since he arrived. “Everyone step back!” Su Ying shouted, her voice grating as she swirled her whip high up in the air. She swung it in a circle, sweeping up the tents, the dead bodies, and heaps of dirt transformed from dead zombies, all into a huge pile. Once everything was piled up in the middle, Zhang Chen set fire to it, using a mysterious lava. ‘Could this be the molten lava from the volcano?’ A

Qin Li stopped before a young girl, severely bleeding and gasping like one on her last legs. “Are you alright? Ouyang Tingling and the rest arrived at this point, listening in on the story. “Do you know the direction the demon hid?” The girl nodded, and pointed in a direction. Qin Li smiled at her and patted her hair. “Good girl, we will find that despicable demon soon.” “You have to take revenge for us, especially those who lost their lives.” The girl whispered, gasping and wheezing. Qin Li nodded and smiled. “Of course, they must definitely be avenged.” He whispered and stretched to his full height. Qin Li turned to his companions, his eyes cold and expressionless. “Let's go.” They immediately turned to leave, in the direction she pointed. With a careless backhand throw, Qin Li unleashed an arrow at the girl, nailing her to the tree. The arrow went through her he

Alvin had experienced first hand about how powerful, talented and insanely talented the medicine sage valley’s disciples were on this mission. Just fourteen of them could impress him. How about their more than a hundred disciples present back in the valley? And he also never experienced their true skills and the level of their expertise because Murong Wuque did all the hard work, letting them act leisurely. He had not seen them fight with the smell of death clinging to their skins. All through the missions, each person used their individual skills either bestowed by their masters or gotten from their families before they joined the valley, showing how powerful their backgrounds were. Those kinds of people were definitely no pushovers, the valley was extremely selective when accepting disciples. In addition, none of them used their strongest weapons—poison. The disciples of the valley were notorious for poisoning opponents to death in dire situations. They didn't use it this time be

They had not landed yet when they realized that something was wrong. Murong Wuque slowed down and tightened his arm around Alvin, looking down at the previous camp. Although they had loosened some of the tents and taken the important stuff, including supplies, they left some tents behind to make it easy for the servants to serve dinner because they were sure to be exhausted when they returned. But right now, everywhere was eerily quiet. Even the horses tethered to trees were gone. No, on a closer look, they were not gone nor stolen, they were killed in a brutal massacre. Alvin's eyes narrowed in a deep frown, he had also noticed the same thing, making him look down. Dead bodies of servants and vagrant cultivators initially meant to accompany them were littered on the ground, their corpses brutalized in a bone chilling manner. The bodies even changed colors, as if someone used an evil art to suck them dry. They immediately landed, and Yang Yang rushed to examine the corpses. Chu

Alvin brought out two cartons of bottled water and four loaves of bread. “These are supplies I brought along. The water is twenty cans, enough for everyone to take one. As for the bread, maybe four people should share one.” Feng quickly tore open the cans of water and shared it. It was the big size containing 150cl. So it was enough for everyone to wash their hands and faces, drink, and still have more. “I haven't seen this kind of vessel for storing water in the past. And the water is cold and refreshing.” A red haired girl who didn't talk much said, making everyone nod in agreement. “It's from my place. It's not available in this part.” Alvin whispered, and gulped down the water he got. There were still four cans of water remaining on the ground. “If four people share one loaf, then the last will be shared by three people since we're only fifteen.” “Then the youngest should take two parts. The baby of the house should always get the biggest share of food.” Alvin said no

Alvin took deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. “It's fine. I can find my way out without anyone's help. I will just go with my initial plan. At least, I have not set the fire.” He muttered, and turned to leave. Something dangled from his side vision, making him turn in that direction. He saw the climbing rope he gave them to go up, dangling around, making him frown. “Did they forget to cut the rope? Common sense should tell them that if they want me to be completely trapped, the rope must be cut.” He walked to the rope and pulled it, noticing that it was sturdy, probably still tied to the tree. Particles of sand began to fall, and a white fist appeared beside the rope, trying to punch a hole through. “Fellow cultivator, if you're out, grab the rope, I'm exhausted.” He heard Murong Wuque shout as he punched out an additional hole, making it wide enough for someone's head to pass through. Alvin frowned, feeling confused. Didn't they abandon him? Why did they change th

In no time, Murong Wuque ran back with the disciples. “How was it?” Alvin asked, turning to him. “Indeed, there were other prisoners, but they are all dead. Yang Yang mistakenly knocked over two of the glasses and pink smoke filled the room, we had to hurry out and lock the room. But it's still seeping out from beneath the door. There are also two more of the sealing formation we found in that room; there are definitely evil entities hidden beneath the ground. Also, we found more treasures, but nothing like the room full of treasures we initially raided. Some of the treasures we found this time had the aura of darkness. The black-purple ring we found on top of a Scarlet throne in the room we found the treasures in, was especially suspicious. All the treasures with attributes of darkness were sealed in a wooden box being kept in my possession. I won't give it to others to prevent an accident.

Su Mei looked up at that moment, her eyes filled with tears. She didn't look terrified or suprised by the sight of him. “Yan'er.” She whispered, and tried to reach for him, but her hand passed right through, making her cry harder. She smiled through her tears and took a deep breath. “Yan'er, go well. Do you want me to come along?” He shook his head, his eyes filled with sadness. “I love you, but you can't follow me. Live well here, keep me in your heart, but don't be burdened. If you meet a man that treats you as good as I did, you can follow him and live happily. I will be jealous, but what I want the most is to see you live well, healthy and happy: the things I promised you but failed to do. All my life, I prided myself on keeping all my promises. They stepped back and Su Mei walked to the coffin, she took deep, uneven breaths, gasping like she would die any moment. This was the first time she was seeing his corpse since Murong Wuque prevented the girls from coming to see him till he got dressed. “Ah…oh…mmm…” She kept groaning and gasping, unable to form coherent words. She reached for his face, caressing him as she wept. “Yan'er…aaaa… mmm… . Please… no.. Oh… ah… ah… ah.. You… oh… promise… you…” The sounds coming from her lips were total nonsense, incoherent as she cried. Murong Wuque signalled everyone to face the floor and give them the privacy to say their final goodbyes. She kissed his ice cold knuckles, bathing him in her tears as she hugged him, crying bitterly. For fifteen minutes, the girls sang various farewell songs while waiting for her to finish crying. She looked at him attentively, and ran her hands over his body and felt his pulse, each false hope she gave herself about reviving him dashing harder than
