Richard Morgan boards a bus to the Star Royal Hotel where he works as a waiter there.

Today was a special day because it was this day two years ago that Jane Andrew agreed to be his girlfriend. After work today he planned on going on a date with her.

Filled with joy all over his face,Richard went into the Star Royal restaurant where he works.

As he put on his black trousers and black shirt, the dress code for his work,he waited to be called upon by the customers in need of his service.

Just then,a young man and a girl walked into the restaurant. The man was wearing a Gucci shirt,a Rolex watch, and a Benz key fold hanging on his waist. The woman was dressed in a short red gown that revealed her curvaceous shape. The two clung to each other and flirted with each other like they were a couple.

“Jane?” Richard could not believe him and he hastily ran to them.

Earlier that day,Jane had told him that she was going to see her aunt who just gave birth but she would return back later in the day.

She was startled, her expression changed. She subconsciously wanted to break free from the youngman when she heard Richard's voice, but the youngman was holding her tightly.

“What are you afraid of? Do you still want to be with that broke guy?”The young man beside her asked sternly.

Jane's eyes flickered for a moment. She was not as panicked as before. But she was filled with rage.

“Well now that you have found out,I guess it's time to let you know,Richard,” said the youngman holding Jane, “Your girlfriend is dating me now”.

He was Richard's classmate,Dominic Prescott. Unlike Richard,he was a rich kid.

Richard staggered back as his face was grave when he heard Dominic's words. Then, ignoring Dominic,he pulled Jane over. “ Come home with me,Jane.I promise to work harder to do anything you want me to do for you.

“Don't touch me!” Jane pushed Richard's hand away. Why should I go with you?Can you afford to buy the phones and handbags that I like? Everytime I ask you to get me a new item you always say I should manage the old ones I have. How long will I keep managing them?”

“Maya,I may be broke now,but I will work harder.” Richard said convincingly.

“Work harder? You are an orphan with no money or background. You can't achieve anything the level of wealth that Dominic has just by being a waiter in this restaurant” Jane sneered.

‘Wake up,Richard.Jane won't go with you.Do you want her to become a waiter with you?Dominic taunted him.

“I have long wanted to tell you that you don't deserve me because you can't afford to take care of my needs. We are done,Richard.” Jane said in an icy voice. Then she turned to look at Dominic with a fond smile and hold him by his hands.

“A broke guy like you doesn't deserve love you know? Dominic shot a disdainful look at Richard as he walked Jane to the reserved table he had made for them.

Richard looked at both of them while his heart was aching as Jane left.

He immediately noticed as all eyes around stared at him. Those around had been watching the scene as it unfolds and was wondering why a waiter like him would be interested in such a beautiful lady.

Richard felt angry, painful, indignant yet helpless. He was humiliated in front of the people there at the restaurant.

Richard lowered his head in shame because he had been publicly humiliated.

Richard and Jane met in college. They had been together since 100 level of resumption. She was innocent back then, but now,she had betrayed him and chose Dominic.

Richard did not beg or persuade Jane to stay because he was broke,Jane had repeatedly insulted him for the past two years.Nevertheless,Richard had never said a thing. All he could do was work harder and make more money to support her. However, she cheated on him by hooking up with the rich kid.

“You have humiliated me today. One day,I will make you realize that it is you who don't deserve me,” Richard said to himself with a gleam in his eyes.

Richard angrily left the restaurant, his Charles who was also working with him as a waiter chased after him to ensure he was safe.

Charles quickly catches up with him.Charles who was not just his friend but also his room mate said “You have to pull yourself together and move on.I told you a long term ago that Jane doesn't belong to our world. She is beautiful, hot and have good shape.I knew at first glance that she wasn't serious with the relationship”

“You have nothing to lose, just get another girl as a replacement for her. They are many girls out there you shouldn't be tied down by one.”

“The thing is I genuinely love her and I'm only interested in her,” Richard said.

“But she has left you for someone else so you should move on and let's go back to work if not you will lose both Jane and your work” Charles replied.

“I will be heading back home, you can return to work as for me I'm done working” Richard stated.

Richard was only doing the part time work so that he could cater for the needs of Jane but since they have broken up there was no need for him working.

Charles returned back to work while Richard headed home.

As he was walking down the road thoughts of the confrontation he had with Jane filled his mind.

“How would she have done this to me after everything I did for her?” he wondered to himself.

Filled with thoughts about his breakup with Jane he didn't notice the black coloured Rolls-Royce coming towards him as he crossed the road and he was knocked down by the car.

The large, polished windows of Richard's mansion offered a view of the city below. He had spent the better part of the past few weeks reclaiming what was rightfully his, maneuvering through legal battles and business challenges. The weight of those battles had been exhausting, but at least the storm seemed to be passing. His empire was starting to rebuild itself, piece by piece, but Richard knew that he couldn’t rest on his laurels. He had far more to give, far more to achieve. As he sat in the warmth of his home, sipping on a glass of water, his phone vibrated in his pocket. The familiar ping caught his attention, and Richard glanced down to see the notification. It was from an email address he hadn’t expected to hear from. An email from the orphanage—the very place that had shaped his childhood, the place where he had learned the true meaning of survival. His heart skipped a beat as he read the subject line: Urgent: Orphanage in Need of Help.Opening the email, Richard felt a pang o

  • Chapter Four Hundred and Twenty-One

Richard stood in front of his mansion, the cold wind biting at his face as he stared up at the imposing gates. He had been here many times before, but this time, there was no sense of pride or ownership in his heart. Only anger. Anger at Linda for taking everything from him, and anger at himself for being manipulated. He could still hear the echo of her voice in his mind—the way she had treated him, the lies she had spun, and the way she had used his son, Jacob, as a pawn in her game. The gates, once a symbol of power and wealth, now felt like an impenetrable fortress. The guards at the entrance recognized Richard immediately but gave him no special treatment. Linda’s influence had extended far beyond the walls of the house, and the tight security measures she had put in place made it clear that she was prepared for any attempt to reclaim the empire she had stolen. But Richard wasn’t afraid. If anything, the weight of the truth he now held in his hands made him more determined than ev

Richard’s heart skipped a beat, his stomach twisting with dread. "What do you mean?"Dr. Matthews looked down at the floor for a moment, as if he were gathering his thoughts. “The results of the DNA test… they were fake.”Richard’s jaw dropped. “What?”The doctor wiped a tear from his cheek before looking Richard in the eye. “I never intended for you to find out like this. But it’s the truth. Linda… she approached me months ago. She offered me a hefty sum to manipulate the results. She promised me a generous reward when she gained control of the Morgan Empire—she said she’d make sure I was well taken care of if I helped her claim the empire as her own.”Richard’s chest tightened. He felt as though the air had been sucked from the room. “So you lied to me. You fabricated the results. That boy…” Richard trailed off, struggling to understand what he was hearing. “He’s not my son?”Dr. Matthews’ face twisted with regret. “No. I’m sorry, Richard. He’s not your son. The drive to Dr. Matthews’ home felt like an eternity. The weight of the vial in Richard’s pocket seemed to grow heavier with each passing minute. When they finally arrived at the doctor’s house, Richard followed him inside, where a soft light emanated from the living room. In the corner of the room lay a small, frail boy, barely older than six or seven. His skin was pale, his breath shallow.Dr. Matthews rushed to his son’s side, his face etched with worry. “Jacob,” he whispered, gently shaking the boy awake. “Jacob, I’ve got something for you.”Richard watched from the doorway as Dr. Matthews carefully opened the vial of Xan Ling. With shaking hands, he poured a single drop onto his son’s tongue. The boy stirred, his eyelids fluttering, but there was no immediate reaction. Richard could feel the tension mounting in the room.“Please,” Dr. Matthews whispered, almost pleading. For a moment, nothing happened. But then, slowly, Jacob’s breathing began to steady.
