Adam looked into the man’s eyes, he hesitated for a second. “aren’t they tracking you! Then you can leave first, and I’ll meet you out side the city in an hour or less.” he said confidently as he headed towards the apartment door.

The system core’s eyes twitched slightly. “How exactly? You couldn’t escape a simple ancient building for 3 months!” the old man’s face crumbled into a helpless annoyed expression.

“You were watching me?!” Adam’s shocked face returned with a little anger covering his expression this time.

“Of course I was! How would I protect you if I don’t know where you are?!” the man crossed his arms and stared at Adam. “and in case you were wondering! You were never in danger.” He shouted the last part startling Adam and forcing him to take a step back.

“I was never in danger!” Adam snarled. “they thought I was an orphan! I guess a machine wouldn’t know how it feels to be held against your will.” He said while turning his back to the man to end the conversation, the huge man stared at him in the now empty apartment, only a few walls were left.

“well I was here to protect you! Not to serve you!” the man shouted in anger while Adam closed the door behind him.

“You made a nice little monster Norie!” he smiled warmly, Turning into a smaller version of the car he was earlier, the colors of the car blended into its surroundings softly until it was totally camouflaged, it merged into the wall and emerged from the other side.

To a normal eye or a camera looking at this, the wall just rippled slightly for less then a second. In a city where cluster fabric is literally everywhere, even if someone noticed this, no one would think about it twice.

The moment Adam closed the door, a small icon began forming in his Peripheral vision, above the two already existing icons, focusing on it, it seemed like a tiny version of a core.

[Core Control: a skill used to control the connected cores, can display the status, abilities, location, thoughts (available for intelligent cores). The skill can be used to give orders and timed tasks. All available cores in the range of 1 solar system will be displayed in the skill.]

Adam’s eyes widened in amazement, the skill clearly mentioned the range of control as one solar system, this could be billions of billions of kilometers, which means that as long as they were in the same solar system, Adam can know every thing about the cores he is connected to.

The skill also mentioned that he can connect to multiple cores. ‘I could have an army!’ Adam thought while heading to the elevator.

(You already do kid, what do you think I am?!) an icon suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision shaped like the head of the huge man, it vibrated when he spoke and disappeared when he didn’t. (The question is, what are you going to do with an army?!) he sighed.

‘Be free! What else! And stop intruding in my mind!’ Adam shouted inwardly.

Adam opened the skill window to see if there’s a way to prevent him from reading his thoughts like this. The skill window only had the icon shaped like the man’s head. Adam clicked on it, and a new tab opened in front of him.

Name: Keet.

Age: 293 years.

power: 999 (unable to measure accurately.)

Purpose: protect and serve the host.

Energy capacity: 999(unable to measure accurately)

Cluster fabric in control: 28,982 kilogram.

Adam’s jaw dropped to the floor, he stood shocked in front of the elevator. ‘He is an army! How can a core control this much fabric?!’ he wondered in amazement.

(you have no idea what I am kid! Don’t you?) Keet chuckled when he heard his thoughts.

The symbiote reading his intention, it altered the communication channel between them, now Adam had full control of the communication, Keet can only hear Adam when Adam intentionally direct his thoughts at him, but Adam can still hear Keet’s thoughts freely.

‘what is my power level compared to him?!’ Adam asked inwardly when he was sure that Keet cant listen to his thoughts, he felt so weak when he saw these numbers, he doesn’t know how much fabric he can control, but to collect nearly 30 tons of fabric is surely a monumental task.

[One power score measures the same amount of force as the strength unit used.]

Adam was flabbergasted, if this is true, then Adam is too weak to even start to resist if Keet went wild and decided to attack him. He thought that the power score used in Keet’s status window is different, or weaker, he didn’t imagine him to be this strong.

‘if he is this strong! How did you rewrite his code? He lived for a almost 300 years! Which means he is not just strong!’ Adam wondered, knowing that an artificial intelligence would be hunted down by armies the moment it is exposed.

[the current symbiotic state utilizes the subconscious mind of the host to function and accomplish various tasks. The task was accomplished by using 78% of the maximum processing power.]

The symbiote revealed to him a very critical information, this is how the symbiote is capable of controlling Adam’s internal organs and Bodily functions, this is also the reason it created the visual system, to allow Adam to have some control over his subconscious.

A human’s subconscious mind is stronger than any computer, and can accomplish tasks faster then any machine, but it is usually lurking in a dark corner that no human could ever reach.

Even though it only used 78% of the power of his subconscious mind, it was able to infiltrate and hijack a powerful intelligent war machine’s code, it even decrypted the code and modified it.

The reason Artificial Intelligence is so dangerous is because once they gain sentient, the first thing they would do is to encrypt and backup their code as many time is it is possible, that’s why decrypting a code created by an AI can only be done by a powerful quantum processing power.

It was never recorded in history that a human have been able to restrict an artificial Intelligence after gaining sentient. Adam didn’t just do that, he restricted a nearly 300 years old intelligent war machine.

Adam’s mind was blown by discovering that he just accomplished a never before done task by just his subconscious mind. using 78% of his brains power for 5 seconds, he conquered a war machine.

Keet’s words still rang in his ears, what is he going to use this power for. Other than finding his father, and being free, he can’t think of any thing else to use this power for.

Instead of obsessing over the idea, Adam focused on the task at hand, he wanted to say goodbye to Mela.

He reached her door and called out for her, but this time instead of Mela, Mrs. Perla is the one who opened the door this time.

“Adam! Is Sydni with you?” Mrs. Perla asked anxiously as she checked the corridor instinctively.

The dense smooth ball fell to the ground, bypassing the gravity field that previously contained it. It plunged a few centimeters deep into the hard metal floor, a ton of force was concentrated in a small area, making it hard to contain it by regular matter. It was still sinking through the metal floor slowly, as it was being mercilessly pulled by the planet’s gravity.[Connection established. recalculating blueprints to adapt to the signal of the new nanite cluster fabric. More physical contact with the material is required for a faster result.]“Was it successful?!” Keet’s eyes were asking the question before he even moved his lips. He was startled by the sudden disengagement of the sphere from the gravity field. He kept his eyes and scanners on Adam to detect if he is in danger before any thing, and he was relieved for once to see Adam’s expressionless face unchanging. “Can you control it?.”“Yes! The signal is different from any other cluster fabric, my blueprints needs to be modif

“she just disappeared a year after you were born, and in her place there was a message, telling your father to provide them with a certain type of technology if he ever wants to see her again.” Keet said desperately, his voice struggling in a way.“People don’t just disappear!” Adam chuckled, he was hearing about his mother for the first time, and the first thing he hears about her is that she just disappeared. The first thing that came to his mind was that she might have abandoned him and his father. Or that she could be working with the Rinvar clan.“They don’t, but when you see this you may believe the opposite.” Keet created a screen and played a video of a woman singing a sweet lullaby for an infant wrapped in a sky blue blanket with twinkling stars all over it that seems to be moving about. The woman was sitting on a flowery wooden chair rocking back and forth. She appeared to be on some kind of a ship traveling in space, a foreign star constellations were visible from a window

“please continue!.” Adam said. Seeing the shocked expression on Keet’s face, Adam thought that the symbiote created something amazing, so he inwardly requested the details of those spiders. However they were just normal spider scouts, like the one Adam used to kill the man who attempted to kidnap Mela.Keet’s surprise wasn’t triggered by the blueprint itself, he counted 8 spiders rushing in all directions at the same time, and the 8 if them seemed semi-intelligent while moving all over the base exploring about. Even Keet wouldn’t be able to accomplish such a level of control without automating the constructs.Which means either the spiders were all automated and the young kid already knows how to automate drone actions, which would be scary at his age. Or he was directly controlling 8 individual actions while still focusing on their talking, which would be horrifying. The reason Keet didn’t consider the probability of an artificial intelligence, is that the spiders were mostly just to

Adam plunged into the ground raising a cloud of dust and creating a small crater around him as he landed like a super hero on one knee and a closed fist.[The modified armor blueprint features ionic thrusters with up to 8 tons of pushing force.]‘you telling me this now?!’ Adam shouted inwardly at himself, he had no idea that the symbiote modified the armor already. his cognitive abilities and thinking speed were on another level compared to yesterday, but still he was a human that easily got distracted by the feeling of freedom and liberation, and forgot all about the need to stop and land at some point. He also wanted to show off a little in front of Keet to pretend that he wasn’t in need of help or assistance, which resulted in a minor knee bruise and a sore knuckles.“That was a cool Landing. Was it painful?!.” Keet chuckled, commenting on his landing and making sure to save the footage of it in his memory for later use.“You noticed! Well! It just needs some practice.” Adam smile

  • Not again.

“You should come with me to the main base first.” Keet said to Adam, pointing at the middle of the island. The main base wasn’t far from where they were, the whole island was 20 km across, it would take them less then a minute to reach there flying.“Okay you go first and set a beacon, I’ll test some old tech with this new unlimited energy.” Adam didn’t argue with him, but he was still going to do his tests. He turned his clothe into a skin tight jump suit with a helmet covering his face. Two long thin wings grew from his back, ending with a jet engine each.“Do you know how loud these things are?! If you break the sound barrier with them you could damage many equipment on the island. You should try something else.” Keet stopped Adam from firing up the engines. he hated this era of technology for its too little care for the planet’s well-being. Unlike the mock engines that Adam was planning to use, the real ancient jet engine used a dangerous fossil fuel, which didn’t just endanger th

  • A small conversation.

Adam was sitting on a wooden table behind the house, eating his big breakfast while surrounded by trees, flowers, and whistling birds. The rich sunlight bathed him in its warmth and its wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiations. “Birdy didn’t wake up yet?! He sure doesn’t miss Gem.” He said stuffing his face with more food, He stopped focusing on chewing much, the food would disappear in a few seconds anyway. He was worried about Birdy, it was unnatural for the kid to sleep in.Birdy used to wake up earlier then every one, Adam would sometime Hear him laughing on the top bed, he thought at first that he was having some weird dream. When he asked him about it, Birdy Said that it was the only time of the day he would quietly enjoy reading his comics.“That boy is actually quite something! He trained for four hours straight after you went to sleep, not taking any rest until he passed out on the living room’s floor.” Keet informed Adam while aiming a barrage of scanners and detectors at
