Maria stepped into the hallway with the confidence of someone accustomed to command, her voice cutting through the chaos like a blade. "Put down the elderly woman. Now."

The lead nurse looked up from the wheelchair she was pushing, her face twisted with arrogant disdain. "And who exactly do you think you are to give us orders?"

"Someone who won't ask twice," Maria replied coolly.

The nurse laughed harshly, gesturing to her colleagues to continue moving. "Listen here, sweetheart. We don't care if you're this loser's latest girlfriend. We have direct orders from Sofia Georgiou, a board member of this hospital who owns ten percent of the shares. This old hag is being evicted, and there's nothing you can do about it."

At least I ended up in the same hospital as Grandma, Andrea thought with grim relief, watching his grandmother's confused and frightened face. If Maria had taken me anywhere else, I might never have found her in time.

Maria's expression didn't change, but something dangerous flickered in her eyes. "I said put her down."

"Or what?" the nurse sneered. "You'll call your boyfriend's lawyer? Maybe write a strongly worded complaint?"

Maria raised her hand slightly, and suddenly the hallway filled with men in black suits. They moved with military precision, appearing from stairwells and elevators as if they had been waiting for her signal.

"Secure the medical staff," Maria commanded quietly.

The bodyguards moved instantly, each nurse finding themselves restrained by professional hands before they could even cry out. The wheelchair stopped moving as the lead nurse's eyes widened in shock.

"What the hell—let go of me!" she struggled against the iron grip holding her. "You can't do this! This is assault!"

Andrea rushed to his grandmother's side, his heart breaking at her pale, confused face. "Grandma, are you alright? Did they hurt you?"

"Andrea, dear," his grandmother whispered weakly, "I don't understand what's happening. They said I had to leave immediately, that no one was paying for my care anymore."

She looks so frail, he thought desperately. How could they treat her so roughly? She weighs barely ninety pounds.

Maria approached, her gaze softening as she looked at the elderly woman. "Ma'am, you're not going anywhere. These people made a mistake."

She turned back to the terrified nurses, her voice becoming arctic. "I want this woman treated immediately. Get the best doctors, the best equipment, whatever she needs."

"We... we can't," the lead nurse stammered, though her earlier arrogance had completely evaporated. "Sofia Georgiou gave direct orders. She's a board member here, she owns ten percent of the hospital shares. We have to follow her commands or we'll lose our jobs."

Maria pulled out her phone, her fingers moving with lightning speed. "Then it's time for a change in ownership."

"What are you doing?" Andrea asked, still supporting his grandmother.

"Buying this hospital," Maria replied matter-of-factly, as if she were ordering coffee.

The nurses stared at her in shock. Even Andrea felt his jaw drop. Buy the entire hospital? Just like that? Who is this woman?

"Done," Maria said, sliding her phone back into her pocket. She turned to Andrea with a small smile. "As the heir of the Konstantinou family, would you like me to proceed with the acquisition?"

Heir? Konstantinou family? Andrea's mind reeled. What is she talking about? I don't understand any of this.

The hallway had fallen completely silent. Every staff member, every patient who had been watching the drama, stood frozen in disbelief. They all knew Andrea—Sofia Georgiou's pathetic husband, the man who lived off his wife's money and gave blood like a trained pet.

"You're joking," one of the younger nurses whispered. "He's just... he's just Sofia's house husband. Everyone knows that."

Maria's smile turned sharp. "Andrea, the choice is yours. Should we complete the purchase?"

Andrea looked down at his grandmother's worried face, then at the nurses who had been so cruel to her, then at Maria's expectant expression. I don't know what's happening, but if it means Grandma gets the care she needs...

He took a deep breath and straightened his shoulders. "Yes. Buy the hospital."

"What a load of—" a new voice interrupted, dripping with condescension.

Theodore Dimitris , the hospital director, strode down the hallway with his usual swagger. His expensive suit and arrogant smirk were as familiar to Andrea as they were infuriating.

"Well, well, if it isn't Andrea," Theodore said, looking him up and down with obvious disgust. "Still pretending to be important, I see. And now you've brought your latest piece of entertainment to play pretend with you."

He always talks to me like I'm dirt, Andrea thought, remembering countless humiliating encounters with this man. Every time I've come here with Grandma, he's made sure I know my place.

Theodore turned to Maria with a patronizing smile. "Miss, I don't know what this man has told you, but he's nothing more than a kept man. Sofia Georgiou's boy toy. Whatever game you're playing here needs to stop before you embarrass yourself further."

Maria's eyes narrowed dangerously. "The Konstantinou family doesn't play games, Mr. Dimitris."

Theodore burst into laughter. "The Konstantinou family? Oh, that's rich! You expect me to believe that this worthless leech is connected to the Konstantinou family? The same family that owns half the medical facilities in the country?"

"We'll see how worthless he is," Maria said coldly, pulling out her phone again.

"Please," Theodore continued mockingly, "even if you were connected to the Konstantinou family—which you're clearly not—you think you can just walk in here and buy a hospital? This isn't a convenience store, sweetheart."

The Konstantinou family... why does that name sound familiar? Andrea wondered, watching the exchange with growing confusion.

Maria dialed a number, her voice becoming crisp and professional. "Mr. Loannis? Yes, it's Maria. I need you at Mercy General Hospital immediately. Yes, the acquisition we discussed. No, right now."

Theodore was still chuckling, shaking his head at what he saw as an elaborate bluff. "This is pathetic, even for you, Andrea. Hiring some actress to—"

The elevator doors opened with a soft ding, and Theodore's words died in his throat. An elderly man in an impeccably tailored suit stepped out, his silver hair perfectly groomed and his face wearing the practiced smile of someone used to wielding enormous influence.

"Finally," Theodore said, his relief evident. "Mr. Loannis, thank goodness you're here. These people are causing a disturbance, claiming they can buy the hospital. I need you to have security remove them immediately."

But instead of approaching Theodore, the chairman walked directly past him, his eyes fixed on Maria with unmistakable deference. He stopped in front of her and bowed slightly, his voice respectful and warm.

"Miss Konstantinou, what a pleasure to see you again. I came as soon as I received your call. How may I assist the family today?"

Chapter 19Maria’s expression softened, and she gave a small shake of her head. “You don’t need me to teach you how to act poor, Andrea. You’ve lived that life, longer than most in this house could even imagine. What you need… is to learn how to work like someone who wants to keep that job.”Andrea leaned forward, curiosity flickering in his eyes. “What do you mean by that?”Maria folded her arms across the table. “Internships are tests. No one expects you to be perfect, but they will watch how you handle pressure. They’ll test how quickly you learn, how well you follow orders, and most of all, whether you can swallow your pride. The moment you act like you’re above the work, they’ll write you off.”Andrea frowned slightly. “So I should keep my head down and just… obey?”“Not just obey,” Maria corrected, her tone firm but encouraging. “You should listen. Pay attention to the smallest details. When they assign you a task, even if it’s something menial—fetching files, organizing shelves

Chapter 17Andrea moved through the estate quietly, his steps light, careful not to draw attention. He slipped past servants carrying trays, pausing at doorways and corridors where he could see without being seen.In the study, Anastasia sat behind a large desk piled with neatly stacked documents. Her quill scratched across the paper, the sound crisp in the quiet room. A maid hovered nearby, waiting for instructions.“Not that one,” Anastasia said firmly, sliding a sheet back toward the maid. “File it under expenses for the vineyard. And make sure the shipment report is signed by tomorrow. If it isn’t, we’ll be delayed another week, and I won’t tolerate that.”“Yes, my lady,” the maid answered quickly, hurrying away with the papers.Andrea lingered by the doorframe, watching. Her tone was sharp, but not unkind—commanding, yet fair. She took a sip of tea, then muttered to herself, “If only Chloe would double-check the ledgers as often as she checks the storerooms…”Suppressing a smile,

Chapter 16Sophia Pace paced back and forth across the hospital room like a restless lioness trapped in a cage. Her heels clicked sharply against the tiled floor, echoing her rage, while Nicholai sat silently in the corner, his eyes following her every move without daring to utter a word.“How could he cheat on me? After everything I’ve done for him!” Her voice trembled with fury, yet there was a bitter edge of heartbreak hidden beneath it. She stopped abruptly, clutching her chest as if Andrea’s betrayal had physically torn her apart. “Divorce me and run away with another woman? Is she even richer than me? Prettier? What could she possibly give him that I haven’t already given?”Her words spilled out like venom, but the more she spoke, the more fragile she became. “I thought Andrea couldn’t survive without me… I thought I was his world.” Her gaze shifted, wild and unfocused, until it landed on the hospital window. She rushed over, yanking the curtains aside, staring out at the dull c

Chapter 15Chloe, who had been listening quietly with her chin tilted ever so slightly, finally spoke. Her voice was calm but carried an edge that cut through the air. “She doesn’t worth it, or you don’t want us to mess with the woman you still love?”Andrea’s eyes flicked to her instantly, caught between irritation and pain. His chest tightened as old memories came rushing back—the promises, the betrayals, the way Sofia had once made him believe in forever, only to rip it all away. He swallowed hard, then forced himself to answer.“I once loved her,” he admitted, his tone raw, almost broken. “But not anymore. That woman… she killed whatever love was left in me. There’s nothing to protect. Nothing to fight for.”Anastasia clenched her fists, her anger simmering like fire under glass. “Good. Because if she dares come near you again, she’ll answer to me. I don’t care who she thinks she is.”Chloe, in contrast, studied Andrea carefully. Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes softene

“You look nervous,” Maria said softly, her voice filled with warmth. “You don’t need to be. Your sisters are all excited to finally meet their lost brother.”Andrea forced a smile and nodded, though his heart raced. It still felt surreal—like he was trapped inside a dream he didn’t want to wake up from. For so long, he had thought he was alone in this world. Now, suddenly, he had three sisters and parents who weren’t just wealthy, but powerful beyond imagination.Maria reached out and squeezed his hand gently. “Your parents have already taken care of us. We’ve each received our share of the properties—they made sure we were settled. We already own estates and businesses worth millions.” She paused, her eyes gleaming as if she couldn’t believe it herself. “But the remaining properties… all of that is for you. You alone.”Her words sank into Andrea slowly, almost painfully, like his mind was refusing to accept them. All for me? Why me?Maria continued to coach him, talking about staying

Chapter 13Nikolas had been in a foul mood ever since Sofia’s mother visited that morning. He had lingered close enough to overhear their conversation, every word cutting into him like a double-edged sword—especially the part about him.Still, his emotions warred. On one hand, relief—Andrea was gone from the villa, finally divorced from Sofia. On the other, bitterness—because even in leaving, Andrea’s shadow still hovered between them.Nikolas glanced at his phone for what felt like the hundredth time, scrolling to the message he’d sent Andrea the night before. No reply. Not even a single word.He scoffed under his breath. He really doesn’t care? Fine. Let him stay gone. He better not think of coming back.A soft knock on his door jolted him.“Nikolas?” Sofia’s voice floated from the other side.Quickly, he shifted. The frown melted from his face, replaced with the fragile mask of a sick boy. He stood, dragging one leg slightly as he limped toward the door. When he opened it, Sofia wa
