12 James' Intervention

Rodney was the only one not retreating, he wanted to make sure that he got as many men as possible out of the range of the bear.

He saw one of his men who was trying to run away and had gotten his leg entangled in a dried tree branch lying on the floor. He quickly ran to his side and was trying to free his leg from the branch when he heard his men calling out to him;

"Commander!"

"Look out!"

"Huh?" Rodney retorted and looked up only to find himself face to face with the most terrifying sight of his life.

While he was busy trying to rescue his subordinate, he lost focus of the bear for a brief moment, and that brief moment was enough for the bear to leap through the air for an attack.

He looked up just in time to see the bear sailing through the air to descend on him.

"Shit..." He muttered, "I messed up..."
