A violent explosion occurred when Qlo's long-range slash hit the magic trap that Raff had set. Meanwhile, Ham and Bob's bodies again hit the trap that Raff had set behind his body. Ham and Bob's bodies were immediately burned, because they had removed their armor when they were burned before...

"Argh!" screamed Bob and Ham. Their bodies fell to the ground. It turned out that Raff had again prepared on the surface of the ground where they fell. The fire magic trap on the ground made them burn even stronger on the right and left sides behind Raff.

"No way," said Qlo.

"You think I'd be careless enough to think my opponent had lost? I knew from the start that you were all pretty strong. It's impossible to lose just like that," Raff explained with a smile. Bob and Ham continued to shout for help. But Qlo couldn't do anything because he couldn't be rash after knowing Raff's abilities.

"You really are a demon. Don't you feel sorry for their screams?" asked Qlo while drawing his sword.

"Pity? Hahaha .. why would I feel sorry for someone who is paid to disturb other people's lives?" said Raff with a laugh.

"How did you find out?" asked Qlo.

"I know everything from Mia's family," Raff replied as he raised his hands. Suddenly his hands were enveloped in flames that lit up the place where they were fighting.

"You have an interesting skill. So before I take it, tell me what your name is?" asked Raff with a grin.

"Take a skill? You think you can beat me huh? Don't dream! You can beat them because they only have level 10!" shouted Qlo while darting towards Raff.

"Your confidence will get you in trouble," Raff muttered with a smile.

Qlo managed to avoid several fire magic traps set by Raff. Qlo slashed his sword from afar aiming at Raff's body, a dense air pressure formed. The air pressure shot towards Raff, but Raff managed to avoid it by jumping to the side.

Raff retaliated by using his magic. Four fireballs shot towards Qlo, but were successfully slashed by Qlo using his sword. Qlo quickly swung his sword repeatedly towards Raff.

One of Qlo's slashes managed to hit Raff's body. Qlo immediately used his skills. The cuts on Raff's body spread throughout his body. But Raff's body crumbled into sand. Qlo looked surprised to see it because he thought that Raff's illusion was gone.

Qlo's vision suddenly blurred. The shadows of trees, rocks, grass, soil and everything there began to fade. Qlo could now see Raff's real form standing leaning against a tree trunk.

"No way," Qlo muttered.

"Your defeat has been decided since I chased you," Raff said as he raised his right hand.

Water droplets were now created in the air. Qlo was very surprised because he didn't think that Raff mastered two opposite elements. The beads of water instantly formed thin needles of water. Dozens of water needles shot towards Qlo's body.

"Tch! This is beyond my expectations!" grumbled Qlo as he jumped into the air and slashed his sword.

Air pressure shot out from Qlo's slash. Raff's water needles darted after Qlo's movement. But dozens of needles were instantly destroyed when hit by Qlo's long-range slash. The ground was scattered when Qlo's slash hit.

Raff smiled. From the beginning he intended to lure Qlo into jumping into the air. But Qlo also realized that there was another trap in the air. He slashed his sword destroying the fire magic traps that Raff had set up.

Sparks scattered in the air as Raff's traps were destroyed by Qlo. But the sparks didn't vanish, they transformed into needles of fire that immediately shot again targeting Qlo's body.

Some of the fire needles managed to penetrate Qlo's body. He couldn't dodge anymore because there was no foothold to change his movements. Qlo could only slash his sword so that some vital parts of his body wouldn't be hit by Raff's fire needles. The wounds on Qlo's body began to bleed.

"Tch! He's really clever. Targeting the eyes and some other vulnerable parts that are not protected by armor," Qlo grumbled.

Qlo couldn't even land properly because of the pain in his legs and hands. Plus he had also stepped on the water magic trap set by Raff. Qlo's body fell to the ground.

That's when Raff used more powerful fire magic. A fire dragon appeared from Raff's direction and shot towards Qlo who was trying to get up. Qlo used his magic to coat his sword with wind magic. Qlo slashed his sword towards the oncoming fire dragon. A powerful impact occurred as the three air pressures from Qlo's slash struck the fire dragon Raff was using. The sound of a violent explosion could be heard echoing in the place where they were fighting. Dust from the ground scattered into the air.

Raff darted from behind the dust while swinging Cok's staff. This startled Qlo, who swung his sword to block the impact of the stick. The impact caused sparks to fly. Raff swung his leg intending to sweep Qlo's leg.

Qlo immediately jumped up because Raff had set magic traps on the left and right sides and behind him. But the stick held by Raff shot towards his chest. Qlo blocked the stick with his sword. Raff jumped up and did a spinning kick aiming for Qlo's head.

Raff's kick was successfully avoided by Qlo by throwing his head back. But that made him unaware that Raff had pulled out Bob's knife from under his shirt. It turned out that Raff had swung the knife at the same time as the kick he did.

"Argh!" screeched Qlo as Raff stabbed his leg using Bob's knife.

Raff's attack was not finished. He flowed his fire magic into the knife until Qlo's left leg was pierced by a hot knife. Qlo screamed again as the fire burned his left leg from the outside and inside. He tried to swing his sword at Raff's body. Meanwhile, Qlo's left hand also used wind magic to attack Raff.

But all these attacks were successfully avoided by Raff by jumping back using Qlo's body as a footstool. Qlo bounced and rolled on the ground while enduring the pain in his legs. Raff took Cok's staff again and jumped to attack Qlo who was still lying down.

Qlo swung his sword to block the blow of the stick swung by Raff. Qlo's right leg was also swung up to attack Raff while preventing him from stepping on his body. Raff planted his foot on the sole of Qlo's right foot as the stick in his hand was held back by the sword.

Raff pulled the staff back while swinging it at Qlo's crotch. That made Qlo scream loudly as his crotch was hit by the iron stick swung by Raff. Raff's body fell because Qlo's legs were unsteady.

As his body floated to Qlo, Raff immediately slammed his right fist, which was already covered in flames, into Qlo's face. While his left hand released the stick and gripped Qlo's right hand which was about to swing his sword. This time Qlo was no longer able to scream as Raff's crushing blow left him unconscious.

"Ironic," Raff muttered as he finished off Qlo with his sword.

Raff took all the money and valuables belonging to Qlo and his friends to make a trail as if they were killed by bandits. There were four gold coins and forty silver coins that Raff found from the four corpses.

"It's the same in this world. Money is everything, they are willing to commit any crime to get it," Raff muttered as he walked away.

[Update completed]

"Eh? Got two new skills? Don't only men with swords have skills?" Raff muttered in surprise.

[Answer: Adventurers who fight with their bare hands are the owners of the second skill]

"I see. Try to show me how to use it," Raff ordered.

[Showing the mechanics of the new skill!]

Raff nodded in understanding after the system told him how to use his two new skills. The first skill is Qlo's which can make wounds spread throughout the body. But it depends on the opponent's level and durability. If the opponent is stronger than Raff then the impact will be small.

"Hehe ... it's appropriate that the man didn't use his skills to fight with me," Raff muttered as the system showed how to use Ham's skills.

Raff immediately returned to the adventurer's guild to provide proof that he had completed the mission he had taken. The atmosphere in the guild building was not as busy as before. This afternoon the situation was quieter. Elite Ten members were also not seen there.

"Welcome back sir," Reona greeted.

"Just call me Raff. It feels bad if you keep calling me sir. After all, you call others by their names," Raff said while handing over his proof of mission.

"Alright then. I'm just being formal as I should," Reona replied with a smile. She immediately gave Raff his mission reward of 10 silver coins.

"Thank you. By the way, are goblins with armor a common thing around here?" asked Raff. Reona's face suddenly turned shocked.

"Did you face a goblin warrior? I mean, goblins with weapons and armor like adventurers?" Reona asked.

"Yes. They were in the forest and attacked me after I defeated the ordinary goblins," explained Raff.

"Are you sure?" asked Reona as she brought her face closer to Raff's as if to confirm the truth. The other adventurers who were there looked confused.

"I-yes," Raff replied.

"Thank you for the information," said Reona as she hurriedly went to the room behind the guild reception desk.

"Is it possible that what the four of them said is true?" thought Raff. He remembered again the words of Qlo and his friends when he made the illusion of the goblins he had fought.

"Are you sure you fought a goblin warrior?" asked another guild staffer who was there.

"I don't know his name. But his characteristics are as I mentioned earlier," Raff replied.

"What's wrong?" asked Raff.

The convergence point Aniel chose sat on a stretch of dead salt flat in the real world, a place where an ancient lakebed had dried into cracked white plates that stretched toward every horizon without a single tree or hill to break the line of sight, and Raff understood why the moment he stood on it. Nothing here could burn that hadn't already burned a thousand years ago. Nothing here could collapse onto soldiers who needed room to fight something that answered to no single element or tactic. He had asked Chloe, during her fifth visit, whether a battlefield spanning two worlds at once could even be held in one place, and she had told him that the seal's remaining strength, thin as it now was, could be bent toward exactly this kind of convergence, provided he understood that bending it further would hasten its collapse regardless of how the fight ended. He gave the order anyway. Seven names, seven targets, and no way to strike at all of them gradually without giving the others time to

  • Chapter 301: The Seven Names

Chloe's borrowed shape held for nearly six hours the second time she returned, long enough that Raff had her sit with Aniel while he sent for parchment and ink, because whatever came next needed to be written down rather than trusted to memory alone, hers or his. Aniel took the account the way she took every report now, without interrupting, though her pen slowed more than once as Chloe described the shape of a curse passed from a dying demon into an unborn child, and slowed again when she reached the part about ten sacred systems scattered across a world that had never known to look for them.It was the new skill from the hundredth floor that gave them their first real thread to pull. Raff tested Seal Sight the same evening Chloe's borrowed body faded again, standing alone in the inn's back courtyard and reaching for whatever sense the skill had opened in him, and found that it responded not to sight in any ordinary way but to a kind of pressure behind his eyes, a pull toward anythin

  • Chapter 300: The Truth of the Seal

Chloe returned to him four days later, appearing in the same inn room just past dawn while Raff was still lacing his boots, and this time she did not hesitate at the window the way she had before. She sat across from him on the narrow bench, her borrowed body steadier than it had been the first morning, though the tremor in her hands never fully went away, a faint shiver she kept trying to hide by folding her fingers into her sleeves. She told him that she had spent the days between her visits gathering enough of herself back together to explain what she had never been allowed to say before, and that the seal on the hundredth floor breaking had loosened more than just her voice. It had loosened the restrictions that kept her from speaking about her own binding at all.She began with the deal itself, the one Raff had made all those years ago beside a riverbank in the rain, back when he had been nothing more than a beaten, furious young man willing to trade anything for a way out of his

  • Chapter 299: The Girl Made of Light

Raff woke to the smell of dust and cold stone still clinging to his skin, though the ceiling above him was not black glass but the familiar wooden beams of the inn room they had taken in Norn City after climbing out of the dungeon. His body ached in a way that no amount of sleep seemed to touch, a deep soreness settled into his bones that Elena's healing magic had only dulled rather than erased. He lay still for a moment, listening to the quiet murmur of the others somewhere beyond the door, before he became aware that he was not alone in the room.A girl stood beside his bed.His first thought was that he was still dreaming, that his mind had simply carried the shape of her voice into something his eyes could finally see, the way it always did in the strange, floating spaces where they sometimes met. But the light coming through the shutters fell across her the same way it fell across the washbasin and the chair by the door, catching dust motes that drifted between them, and dust mot

  • Chapter 298: The Guardian Beneath the Seal

The corridors past the ninetieth floor narrowed again, as if the fortress had decided that whatever waited below deserved less room to breathe. Raff kept the fireball low and close, watching it flicker against black glass floors that grew smoother the deeper they went, until Nekota finally admitted that the ground felt less like stone underfoot and more like something that had been poured once, long ago, and never allowed to properly set.Rhia counted the floors under her breath as they descended, a habit she'd picked up somewhere around the sixty-fifth level and never dropped. Ninety-four. Ninety-six. Ninety-eight. No guardians rose to meet them. No carvings lined the walls. The silence had a different texture down here, thick enough that Frisca kept glancing over her shoulder even though nothing followed. The ninety-ninth floor ended in a staircase carved from the same black glass as the floor, spiraling downward into a light that came from nowhere Raff could identify, pale and blue

  • Chapter 297: The Ninetieth Floor

The violet crystal light thinned as they descended, replaced somewhere past the seventy-fourth floor by a darkness so complete that even Naviel's earth-sense struggled to read the shape of the walls around them. Raff kept a small fireball burning above his palm for most of that stretch, though the flame guttered strangely whenever it passed close to the stone, as if something in the rock itself resented the intrusion of ordinary light. The guardians thinned out as well. Where the sixtieth floor had thrown towering constructs of fused stone and blackened metal at them without pause, the corridors below the seventy-fifth floor sat empty for hours at a stretch, disturbed only by the echo of their own footsteps and the occasional groan of settling rock somewhere far above. Frisca found the silence worse than the fighting had been. She said, more than once, that a dungeon this deep should not feel abandoned, that something built with this much care did not simply run out of things to defen
