Dylan stood and quietly stepped away from the bed, leaving Rachel in the bedroom area before walking into the small foyer just beyond the suite's main door.

It was quieter there and more importantly, it gave him some privacy without having to leave the suite completely.

Dylan leaned against the wall a few feet from the entrance and answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Are you busy?" Betty's voice came through the phone.

Dylan glanced briefly toward the bedroom before looking back at the door.

What's up?""I wanted to ask you something.""Go ahead."There was a brief pause before Betty interrupted it."About our race.""Our race?""Yeah."Betty sounded unusually casual and it bothered Dylan to an extent."I was thinking... are you available tomorrow?""Tomorrow?""Yeah. We made a deal, remember? Let's just get it over with."After everything that had happened today, that was what Betty wanted to talk about? “You're serious?”“Of course.” She chuckled.“You're not backing out now,

Suddenly, Rachel stirred and she sat up slowly, rubbing her temples with her eyes fluttering open. She looked around the room with confusion, then her gaze finally landed on Dylan."Where... where am I?" she whispered with an incredibly soft voice."You're in a hotel suite," Dylan said, keeping his distance. "You're drunk. Becky had to leave for an emergency, so I'm watching you.""Oh..." Rachel slid off the bed. Her legs seemed to wobble, and with a soft cry, she stumbled forward.Dylan instinctively caught her again. But this time, Rachel didn't just hold on. She slid her hands up his chest with a warm and deliberate touch. She even had to lean her body entirely against his, looking up at him with parted lips."I'm so dizzy," she whispered with her breath brushing against his lips. "And so lonely... please, don't leave. Just stay here....With me."She slowly began to pull him toward the bed. Dylan carried her back, intending to just lay her down, but the moment her back hit the matt

Dylan gently tried to pull his hand free, but Rachel only tightened her grip, clinging to him as though letting go would make him disappear.Becky immediately walked over."Rachel..." She carefully pried Rachel's fingers away one by one until Dylan's hand was finally free."There..." Becky forced an awkward smile. "I think she's just... scared of being alone."She glanced at Dylan apologetically. "I'll stay here with her while you head back. I'm really sorry our lunch ended like this.""It's fine. Take good care of her." Dylan smiled lightly. With that, Dylan turned and was about to leave when a knock came from outside the presidential suite."Come in...."The door opened and one of the receptionists entered respectfully. It was the same receptionist Dylan had noticed earlier. The one he had suspected was throwing uncomfortable glances at him.She walked directly toward Becky."Excuse me, Miss....I believe this belongs to you." She handed over Becky's phone."My phone?" She instinctiv

Becky forced another smile before gently trying to pull Rachel away."Rachel... come on."Rachel shook her head stubbornly, tightening her arms around Dylan's neck. "No....I'm comfortable here..."She mumbled so softly that it almost sounded like sleep talking. Now Dylan was fully convinced that she's drunk. Coupled with the fact that she's a friend of Becky. Everything was now convincing.'Maybe there was no threat... That's why my system didn't detect anything. I was just being paranoid thinking the Berg's family will strike immediately...After all, they are always keen on protecting their name.' Dylan could only sigh helplessly."She really is drunk." He voiced out."I know." Becky looked equally troubled. "I've never seen her this wasted before."Rachel suddenly looked up at Dylan again and her watery eyes met his. "You smell nice..."She smiled dreamily before resting her head on his shoulder again. "And you're... so warm..."Dylan awkwardly looked away while Becky coughed lightl

THUD!!!For a split second, Dylan's muscles were tensed and every instinct in his body screamed that something had just entered his space. The impact wasn't as powerful as expected, but it was too sudden.Dylan's eyes sharpened instinctively as countless possibilities raced through his mind. With his hand clenched into a fist ready to react at the slightest sign of danger. But the System remained silent and no warning or threat was detected. The figure stumbled backward instead and instantly misstep. A soft figure had crashed straight into his chest and before the girl could fall, Dylan instinctively caught her by the waist.Staring directly into her eyes, Dylan noticed she wasn't one of the girls stalking him before. Coupled with the scent of alcohol immediately reaching his nose, he was now convinced that she wasn't the girl. She looked up with half-open eyes and her cheeks were flushed. Her long, wavy hair spilled over her shoulders, slightly messy but somehow making her even more

Dylan casually picked up his glass and took a sip of water, his expression remaining as calm as ever.Outwardly, nothing had changed, but inside, his mind had already become alert as he slowly glanced around the restaurant again. The elegant woman was still seated in the same spot, quietly stirring her coffee without looking in his direction anymore. The lady who had just entered had also found a seat, though she wasn't eating. She simply crossed one leg over the other and occasionally looked around the restaurant with her black glasses like she was waiting for someone. Then there was the receptionist.Every now and then, she would steal a glance toward Dylan before quickly looking away. One person could have been a coincidence... Two perhaps, but three? That wasn't something Dylan believed in.Becky noticed him looking around."What is it?""Nothing." Dylan smiled faintly. She tilted her head suspiciously. "You've looked around three times already.""Have I?""You have.""Maybe I'm ju
