Chapter 2

"..N..n..Natalia??" Xenon gasped, freezing to the spot without moving. He stared in shock, confirming his fears and leaving the cart of food he's supposed to serve on the table for the guests and went to meet them boldly.

The steam coming out from his body was so hot, he had used his last savings to get a ring for Natalia who was his everything. His life was not perfect, neither was it luxurious but she was the only one that stood by him since kids.

"Damn! My childhood friend!" Xenon cried inwardly.

She loved him or was it just an imagination? Her parents weren't too wealthy either but she was willing to make life better for the both of them. He loved cooking and hoped to have his own restaurant of his own but he needed to sharpen his skills, thereby saving up and staying hungry to apply as an apprentice to cook in Royal Volt Cuisine which was located in Venice, Italy.

He would watch their shows on TV and hoped to be like the CEO who was a master in terms of delicacies and promised her to work hard to become known.

But like a dream before him, she's here!!

What the fuck?

She's married!

"Natalia!!" He cried out, causing attention and making the music stop in the background.

The lady who was smiling frowned and turned to the direction of her name when her face fell.

"Natalia, what are you doing? Are you acting in a movie?" He asked desperately, ignoring his boss's confused stare.

"Are you out of your mind Xenon?" Mr Enzo yelled in disgust.

"I'm not Boss! This lady is my fiancee!" Xenon turned to look at Natalia who was so ashamed and embarrassed by Xenon's Audacity to even approach her with such attire in the midst of such powerful people.

"God! He's so dirty" She thought Inwardly and shook her head.

"Answer me Nat, say something, we are engaged aren't we? What are you doing here with my boss? Whose wedding is this?" Xenon continued to rant.

"Do you know him babe?" Enzo asked Natalia who was quick to shake her head.

"I don't Hun, is he a beggar? Give him some money and let him leave please…this is so embarrassing." She blurted and Xenon gasped.

"Natalia, don't do this babe, please we can talk it out. I love you too much to live. I'm training so hard at the cuisine. I will do something please."

A heavy punch was sent to him and Enzo called the security Team.

"What sort of stupid embarrassment is this!! Take him out and strip him off for causing a nuisance at my wedding!" Enzo ordered and Xenon was still pleading hotly at Natalia who puffed her shoulders at such disgrace.

"What does he take me for? A stupid fool to wait for eternity? He has no hope!" She thought and kissed her new husband who smiled at her.

"We have all the time in the world babe, we don't need to rush." He said huskily and she blushed, nodding at him.

He was perfect for her, an international successful chef known across and far. She had gone to visit Xenon and everything changed when she saw him. He was cute and sexy and at that moment, she knew she was wasting her life with Xenon.

"Die Fool!!" The guards matched Enzo's face countlessly while the other one stripped his clothes off and sent hot lashes at his back.

Enzo cried, not because of the physical pain that was inflicted on him but the scarring pain in his heart that was burning for Natalia. He couldn't believe it. It was so painful.

Madame Rossetti saw the scene and laughed out loud with Lucas, clapping her hands.

"He can't even differentiate between a plate and a cup, he's going after the Boss' wife and claims to be her fiance!"

"Don't mind him, so useless and proud. I had advised him to pick up garbage on the streets and sell empty containers but he's keen on wasting his money here! Now look at him, I pity that old woman of his at home."

Lucas replied to her, folding his hands and he watched excitedly. Hoping Xenon dies from the beating.

He had done nothing to him but he saw Xenon so Intimidating because of his looks. His wretched life didn't hide it from him that he was so beautiful and he felt so threatened.

"That woman would die!" Rossetti spat out and went inside, leaving Xenon to writhe in pain all in the pool of his own blood.

He couldn't move nor make any sound, he felt paralysed all he could see was pains swimming all over his body. He laid there till evening and everyone that passed him, mocked and laughed at him as a bride snatcher 

A car drove carelessly and almost hit him, luckily for her headlights, she was able to see that a human being was lying carelessly on the road.

She got out of her car and gasped.

"Oh My God!! He's dying. Are you okay Mister! What are you doing here?" The young lady shook in fear and stared at Xenon who was all bloodied.

She called randomly for help and asked for people to lift him into her car so he could be treated.

Luckily for her, her father's hospital is nearby and she was the best cardiologist and specialist in the hospital.

In no time, she reached the hospital and got him for treatment.

Xenon was dull, blank and so unappreciative. He was so angry with the world that he was angry at the lady for saving him.

"You could have just let me die!" He spat out rudely at the young lady in a white coat whose name tag had Felicity Royco on it.

"Really? I should have let you die? Fine!! Let's go back to the streets then, I'll call the men who beat you up and leave you to die. You'll pay for the treatment, fuel my car and apologise to the nurses who wasted their time treating you!" She yelled at him angrily and Xenon gasped feeling remorseful.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean that." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"I didn't mean any of that too, anyway what were you doing there on the streets looking like that! Anyone could have hit you! Don't you have a father, mother or sister that cares about you?" She asked and his eyes snapped open as if being shocked by electricity.

"My grandmother!" He cried.

"I have her and she's not feeling fine, I need to go…uhm…Felicity." He said , looking at her and removing the syringe and drip connected to him.

"Wait!..."

"I'll make it to you…" He said and dashed out from the ward, running out of the hospital to the streets of Venice.

His dear granny was sick and he had forgotten about it..

Her Medicine was supposed to be taken by 6:00pm but it's now past 10:00pm

"God please, don't let anything happen to her please." He cried, running so fast and ignoring his pain and the nauseating feeling in his throat.

"Oh dear Lord! Granny!" He cried at the sight before him. She was sitting there trying to get her medicine as she coughed so badly with blood dripping from her mouth and nose.

He reached for the medicine and grabbed it, shoving it into her mouth and giving her water.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry Granny. I messed up." Xenon cried bitterly as she coughed even worse and louder.

"Listen to me carefully Xenon, I don't have time anymore.." She said and his heart dropped in raw fear.
