**Chapter 2**

Draven stood motionless on the hospital steps as Sophia Laurent walked straight toward him. Her elegant heels clicked sharply against the marble with every confident step. The entire crowd fell into a stunned silence. No one expected the famous ice queen CEO to pay any attention to a beaten intern who had just been thrown out like garbage. Yet here she was stopping only a few feet away from him her sharp beautiful eyes studying his face with open curiosity.

Sophia’s presence carried a natural pressure that made even Zhao Jun straighten his back. She was known across the city as an untouchable goddess of business. Cold ruthless and impossibly successful at only twenty six years old. Rumors said she had rejected every rich heir who ever tried to pursue her. Now she was looking at Draven as if the rest of the world had disappeared.

“You,” she said her voice smooth and commanding. “What exactly happened here.”

Before Draven could answer Zhao Jun stepped forward with a forced smile trying to regain control of the situation. “Miss Laurent this trash intern insulted my girlfriend and caused a scene. I was simply teaching him a lesson about knowing his place. Nothing for you to worry about. Please allow me to escort you inside.”

Sophia did not even glance at Zhao Jun. Her gaze stayed locked on Draven. Something about the young man felt different. A quiet strength radiated from him that made her usually frozen heart beat faster. She had come to the hospital today because of a secret condition that had been worsening for months. No doctor had been able to find the root cause. Yet standing this close to Draven she felt an inexplicable sense of relief.

Draven activated his new Divine Diagnosis Eye without thinking. Golden light flickered briefly in his pupils visible only to him. In that instant he saw straight through Sophia’s perfect exterior. Hidden beneath her flawless skin was a rare and deadly poison cultivated over years. It attacked her meridians slowly weakening her body from the inside. If left untreated it would paralyze her within six months and kill her within a year. The poison had been administered cleverly through her skincare products or perhaps her private water supply. Someone close to her wanted her dead.

The System voice chimed again in his mind.

“Ding. Poison identified as Shadow Yin Venom. Host can cure it completely with the Immortal Needle Technique and one dose of the beginner detoxification pill. Time limit for main quest remains six days and twenty three hours.”

Draven’s expression stayed calm but inside his blood was boiling. This woman carried unimaginable power and wealth yet someone was slowly murdering her in secret. And now the System had tied her survival to his own growth.

“I can help you,” Draven said quietly meeting her eyes without hesitation. “You have been feeling constant fatigue cold limbs and occasional sharp pain in your lower abdomen. The medicine you take every morning is not helping. In fact it is making the problem worse.”

Sophia’s eyes widened slightly. No one outside her most trusted circle knew about her symptoms. She had hidden them perfectly from the world. Yet this young man she had never met had just described them with perfect accuracy. A spark of hope ignited in her chest for the first time in months.

Zhao Jun’s face turned ugly with jealousy and rage. “Miss Laurent do not listen to this delusional trash. He is just trying to scam you after I exposed him. Guards throw him out properly this time.”

The two guards who had been shoved earlier were back on their feet now angrier than before. They charged at Draven again determined to crush him in front of the CEO.

Draven did not move much. He simply stepped forward and flicked two fingers against the first guard’s wrist. The big man screamed as if struck by lightning and collapsed clutching his old shoulder injury that had suddenly flared up ten times worse. The second guard swung a heavy fist but Draven caught it mid air twisted gently and sent the man spinning into the flowerbed beside the steps.

Both guards lay on the ground moaning unable to stand. The crowd erupted in shocked whispers. How had the weak intern who was nearly crippled moments ago suddenly become this strong.

Zhao Jun’s expression twisted with disbelief and fear. He pointed a shaking finger at Draven. “You you must have used some dirty trick. My family will not let this slide. You are finished.”

Sophia raised one delicate hand silencing the entire scene. “Enough. This young man stays. Zhao Jun you and your companion can leave. I have private business with him.”

Zhao Jun looked like he had been slapped across the face. No one had ever dismissed him so publicly especially not in front of this many people. He glared at Draven with pure murderous intent before storming off with his girlfriend trailing behind. But Draven knew this was not over. The Zhao family would come for revenge soon.

Sophia turned back to Draven her cold beautiful face softening just a fraction. “Come with me. We will talk inside my private suite. I want to hear exactly how you know about my condition.”

As they walked toward the hospital entrance together Draven could feel hundreds of eyes following them. Some filled with envy others with disbelief. Sophia’s personal assistant rushed forward to open the door for them looking equally stunned.

Inside the luxurious VIP elevator Sophia stood close enough that Draven caught the faint scent of her perfume. She studied him carefully. “Tell me the truth. Are you really just an intern here or is there more to you than meets the eye.”

Draven gave a small mysterious smile. “Let us say I recently gained the ability to see what others cannot. Your condition is serious Miss Laurent but I can cure it completely. The real question is whether you are willing to trust a stranger who was thrown out of this hospital ten minutes ago.”

Sophia’s lips curved into the faintest smile. It was the first time anyone had seen the ice queen show even that much emotion. “Trust is earned Draven Hale. Prove you can do what you claim and I will give you anything you want.”

The elevator doors opened on the top floor revealing a private medical suite that looked more like a luxury penthouse. Sophia led him inside closing the door behind them. She removed her suit jacket revealing the elegant white blouse underneath and sat on the examination couch waiting.

Draven’s heart raced. This was his first real test of the Divine Doctor System. One wrong move and the ice queen could destroy him. But success would give him his first powerful ally and a massive reward.

He stepped closer and gently took her wrist to check her pulse the way the Immortal Needle Technique taught him. The moment their skin touched a warm current of energy flowed between them. Sophia gasped softly her cheeks flushing with an unfamiliar heat.

At that exact moment the System voice rang urgently in Draven’s head once more.

“Ding. Warning. Zhao family has mobilized elite bodyguards and hired a professional assassin. They are heading to the hospital right now targeting both host and Sophia Laurent. Estimated arrival in fifteen minutes. New side quest unlocked. Protect Sophia Laurent and eliminate the immediate threat. Success reward. Advanced Body Refinement and one billion yuan bonus.”

Draven’s eyes narrowed as he sensed danger approaching fast. The real fight was about to begin.

Chapter 38The final percentage points did not fall like a countdown. They dissolved. At ninety-eight percent the residual signal that still answered to the name Draven Hale existed only as a narrow, burning thread of intent wrapped around a single standing order: protect them. Everything else — the specific texture of old grief, the exact sound of Sophia’s voice when she was afraid, the memory of hospital steps and the first time the System had spoken — was being steadily converted into clean, usable architecture for the remnant will. I felt the conversion happen from the inside as a progressive quieting. The quieting was not peaceful. It was the sound of a room being emptied of furniture while the last occupant still stood in the middle of it.The Executor’s third gesture completed.Gray erasure law descended on the vessel and the tomb entrance in a vertical column that removed color, sound, and residual medical energy from everything it touched. The remnant will met the column with

Chapter 37I remained on my knees in the center of what had once been the financial heart of Central City, held upright by three pairs of hands that still recognized me as Draven Hale even as ninety-three percent of the vessel they were holding no longer answered primarily to that name. White light bled from the cracks in my skin in slow, steady pulses. Each pulse replaced another fraction of the original foundation with the colder architecture of the Ancient Medical God.The six damaged Apex-tier existences kept their distance. They had stopped trying to kill the fusion directly. Their new role was containment. The wound in the sky above the city had stabilized into a clean, vertical aperture, and through it I could feel a presence descending that made the six of them feel like intermediate measures. The remnant will identified the approaching signature without emotion and began preparing the vessel for a higher order of conflict. The residual human signal that still carried my name

Chapter 36I rose from the rubble with the three women beside me and the last pieces of myself held together by nothing stronger than refusal. The six Apex-tier existences closed the ring without haste. They had decided the outcome was inevitable. The only remaining variable was whether the thing that finished the fight would still answer to the name Draven Hale when it was over. The first coordinated strike came from all six directions at once. Black law compressed the air into cutting planes, gravity wells, and spiritual pressure designed to finish the fracturing of my core and accelerate the fusion past the point of recovery. The remnant will responded with the full refined authority of the Ancient Medical God. White light erupted outward in a perfect counter-lattice that met the six attacks and held them for a full second. That second cost me another fragment of majority control.I felt the percentage climb without needing the System to announce it. Chapter 35I no longer needed the System to tell me the percentage. I could feel it in the way thoughts formed. At seventy-six percent, the remnant will of the Ancient Medical God was no longer a passenger or even a co-pilot. It was the primary operating system, and the man named Draven Hale had been reduced to a persistent, stubborn subprocess that refused to terminate. I still saw through the same eyes. I still felt the three women holding my broken body upright. I still carried the open wound where Lirael’s presence had been torn away. But the emotional volume on all of it had been turned down, as if someone had placed glass between me and my own heart.Sophia’s forehead remained pressed against mine. Her voice reached me through both the air and the bond, tight with fear she was no longer trying to hide. “Your eyes keep changing. One second they are yours. The next second something else is looking at us. Fight it.”Seraphina’s energy wrapped around my left side, trying to create a

They had decided that the variable known as Draven Hale needed to be removed before the fusion progressed any further and produced something the Council could not easily erase. The first exchange nearly ended me.Black and white force tore across the ruined financial district in sheets that stripped the facades from the last standing towers. I felt my damaged core fracture in two new places. The remnant will responded by flooding more of itself into the gaps, pushing the fusion higher in exchange for the power to keep my body moving. I remained upright through sheer refusal and the three living anchors still tied to me through the harem bond.Sophia, Seraphina, and Elena refused to stay at a safe distance. They moved with me, feeding what little energy they had left into the bond even as the

Chapter 33The moment the fusion crossed fifty-five percent, the world stopped belonging entirely to me.White light and black law collided above the ruined heart of Central City with a force that erased the distinction between ground and sky. I moved inside that collision as two overlapping wills occupying the same damaged body. One will still answered to the name Draven Hale and still felt the open wound where Lirael had been torn out of the harem bond. The other will had watched continents rise and fall and measured the value of individual lives against the continuity of an inheritance older than the current upper realms. Both wills wanted the five Apex-tier existences dead. They simply wanted it for different reasons.I met the first of the five in the open air with a palm strike that carried the full refined edge of Medical God law. The bone-haired woman with pupil-less eyes blocked it, but the impact drove her back through the upper floors of a still-standing tower. Before she c
