"Excuse me, I'll be using the bathroom" Dylan said and excused himself. He had left to make use of the washroom.

The sight of Oliver and Emily brought back uncomfortable memories that he didn't want to think about.

And so he went to wash his face before the mirror and calm down. He had to prepare himself mentally if he was going to face those two again.

As Dylan left, Oliver and Emily decided to take the opportunity and steal the spotlight again.

The two of them approached Mr Yama with a smile.

"Greetings. It's been a while" Oliver smiled, exchanging handshakes.

Mr Yama smiled "Ah! Mr Maxwell. I didn't know you had the time to join us. Glad to have you" he stared at Emily "You came with your lovely wife too"

They all exchanged pleasantries before Oliver went ahead to say "I wanted to meet and speak with you today"

"Oh..is that so? What would you like to speak about?"

Oliver smiled "I heard about the upcoming charity event you are hosting in a few days. I'm extremely interested in the charity event because I wish to help people. So I was wondering if you could make me a special guest at the event"

Oliver wanted to get a spot at the charity event, not because he was enthusiastic in helping people, but because of the benefits that came with it!

It was a global charity event that would boast your status. So he wanted to take the opportunity and climb ranks.

That was one of the main reasons he came here, to meet Mr Yama and get this spot.

As he declared this, Emily smiled and added "Exactly. My husband has been working hard for this for a long time now. So I already think he's the best option for this"

The high profile men gather around there and also agreed with this.

"Oliver Maxwell would be a great choice for this. He has a strange status and his family is also powerful. So he is the best option for this position"

Another agreed "True. And recently his net worth also climbed high. He's already more than capable"

They were all singing Oliver's praise that he casually smiled. Olive and Emily were happy and couldn't help to get that position

That was what they needed most at the moment.

But Mr Yama sighed and said "I would also like to consider that, but I'm afraid I can't. It's already too late because I've already made my decision on who to be picked" He explained.

Oliver and Emily were shocked. Their smiles dropped instantly as they stared at me Yama.

"Huh? You've already made the decision? How's that possible...? Who is the person you chose?" Oliver inquired.

"Oh. The friend I came here with. He's the one who is the special guest for the charity event. I've already picked him. So sorry, there's nothing I can do" he explained.

They were speechless. Oliver and Emily almost had their jaws drop at the news.

They couldn't believe that this which they have also worked hard to get at this event was taken away by just a nobody!

Someone they didn't even know at all.

"But, how's that possible...?" Emily asked, forcing a smile "Isn't he just.. new or something? He hasn't established anything.. how then is he...?"

Mr Yama chuckled and said "I understand. You might feel that way, but in reality he's actually worth it"

He smiled as he explained "You might not know this, but some days ago this event was in danger of being called off. It's something I didn't what to say"

The others listened, curiously.

He continued "We encountered some problems on the event agreement and all. And it was something money couldn't even handle! And I couldn't even announce cancelling this gathering because it'd be such a shame and embarrassing"

"But to my surprise, someone helped me out of nowhere. He helped resolve the issue and the everything went smoothly again. So Immediately, I chatted this person up and invited him to the gathering!"

Everyone listened, impressed.

"Wow. That's impressive then! For him to help with such big case? How did he even do that?"

"I still don't know. But he's one talented young man I believe. So I think he's the perfect fit so I gave him the position at the charity event"

People slowly nodded. They also thought it was a better position for it. But Oliver and Emily were still devastated.

They hated the sound of this. They hated that someone came out of nowhere and stole their chances. It left them speechless.

"But.. this young man that came out of nowhere.. who is he...?" A lady asked, curious.

Everyone stared at each other and stared at Mr Yama.

Mr Yama casually shrugged "This is my first time also seeing him in person. I think he's from abroad or something"

They all nodded, now curious to get to know Dylan better.

Dylan was done washing his face at the washroom. He stared in the mirror before he smiled.

"I'll make them all pay" he explained as he got out the Jade dragon ring from his pocket.

Dylan stared at himself as he put the ring comfortably in his hand. The ring was looking so glamorous that anyone would notice it!

And that was what Dylan wanted.

With a smile on his face, he adjusted his suit as he turned and left the washroom to go and meet others at the event hall.

But as he stepped back into the hall, Dylan accidentally bumped into a lady.

"I'm sorry..." He apologised as he held her up. But as this lady got up to her feet, she stared at finger and exclaimed.

"My ring! I can't find my golden ring anymore!" She exclaimed as she stared at Dylan "You stole my ring!" She said, causing a scene.
