Everything happened so fast. Both lay on the bed, breathing heavily. Ethan looked beside him to see that Cassandra was fast asleep. He gently got up with a white bedspread around him and walked into the bathroom to have his bath. He looked at her once and again before he drifted into a long sleep.
[THE NEXT DAY] The loud noise of Cassandra woke him up. “What did you do to me?” She asked with anger. Ethan yawned; he felt so tired, but the lash he received on his back sent an electric jolt to his brain. He opened his eyes in a hurry. “What is it, Cassandra?” Ethan looked at her. “Are you seriously asking me that?” Cassandra said, fuming in anger. She opened the bedspread again and saw she was naked. “Did we?” She looked at him anxiously. “Are you asking if we had sex?” Ethan asked, not sure of what to tell her. “You know what I mean, Ethan, and don't you play dumb with me!” “You got home yesterday and you were drunk. You asked for this,“ Ethan said immediately trying to defend himself. “I asked for what?” Cassandra opened her eyes with disbelief. “Why would I have sex with a worthless person like you? Do you think if I wanted sex so badly, I wouldn't have it elsewhere?” She looked at her Ethan with anger bubbling in her face. “I can see you have all of this planned out. If you think putting a baby inside of me will make you be my husband officially, then you are wrong. You are nothing. Don't forget I brought you out of the mud, and I can put you where you belong.” Cassandra walked out of the bed nakedly. She took a quick bath and got dressed. In a flash, she was out of the house. At that moment, Ethan knew everything he had built so far was finally coming to an end. With Casandara’s attitude and temper, she could do and undo. Ethan got up and washed up. He was soon inside the car. He couldn't believe it. Cassandra would pin everything that happened yesterday on him; he got to work and noticed all eyes were on him. Ethan walked towards his office and noticed it was locked. “What the hell is going on?” he muttered to himself. He was about to walk towards Cassandra’s office when he saw the security coming towards him. “Mr. Ethan, you have been asked to be escorted out of the organization.” “Escorted? Why?” He looked at their faces, but he wasn't given the chance to talk. “Can I see my wife?” He said anxiously. “We are sorry, but Mrs. Paige is not ready to see you. We are under firm instruction to have you sent out of the company right now!” At first, Ethan thought it was all a joke, a prank. “I just need to see Cassandra. This is all a misunderstanding.” He said jokingly, but then they came at him and bundled him off his feet like he was just a sack of nylon. “Let me go!” Ethan shouted at the top of his voice. “We had a deal, Cassandra!” He shouted as he was being dragged out of the office. Ethan was thrown right outside the gate of the office with the skies rumbling. He looked towards the sky, and he knew it was going to rain soon, but he was not ready to leave. Many of his colleagues and co-workers walked past him with a disdainful look on their faces. “I told him he would not last ten days.” One of the workers said loud enough for Ethan to hear him. “This is not the first one, is it?" Another said. Ethan bit into his lips; it was evident that he was just another means to an end for Cassandra, but why? It was obvious that she needed something from him. Did she get it already? Ethan was lost in thought; suddenly he looked up and saw Cassandra’s car driving out of the compound. He rushed towards her. “Wait, Cassandra!” He shouted as she pulled down the glasses. “Was this about last night? I am sorry, but you kissed me first.” Ethan pleaded “I have what I wanted, so why don't we dissolve what we agreed on? I don't think I need to pay you the agreed f*e, but since you have managed to spend at least seven days with me, here is something for you.” Cassandra dipped her hands into her fancy bag and brought out some money. “This is for your troubles.” She dropped the money in the ground and drove away. Everything seems like a dream to Ethan. “You can't be serious.” He said gently, looking at the car driving out of sight. Ethan looked at the floor and back at the car driving out of sight. He was back to square one. He felt like shedding tears, but then a part of him knew it was not going to last anyway. With no home and just a bundle of dollar notes on the floor, Ethan was back to where he started from. There was no place he could go. The rain started to pour hard as he ran towards the main street to flag down a taxi. “Where to?” The taxi driver asked, staring at his face. Ethan gave him the address to his former house. On getting back home, he noticed the door was locked. He banged the door, and a man with a towel around his waist walked out. “Who are you?” Ethan asked, dripping with water. The man looked at Ethan from head to toe. “And who the hell are you?” He asked, staring into the night and back at Ethan's face. “I own this place.” Ethan replied. “Not anymore.” The man said with a smirk on his face and slammed the door right back at him. Ethan stood still in shock. He wanted to shout like an enraged man, but he knew he was going to be arrested for trespassing. With nowhere to go, Ethan was back on the street with the torrent drenching him from head to toe.

The beeping sound of the machine was the first thing Ethan heard as his eyes fluttered open. The blinding white light of the hospital room made him squint, and a dull pain throbbed through his body. He tried to move, but his limbs felt like lead.A nurse leaned over him, her expression a mix of relief and caution. "You're awake," she said softly. "You’ve been unconscious for two days.""Two... days?" Ethan croaked, his throat dry as sandpaper. He winced as he attempted to sit up, only to feel a sharp pain shoot through his ribs. "What happened?""You were hit by a car," the nurse explained, adjusting the IV line in his arm. "The driver brought you here. You’re lucky to be alive."Ethan's memory was hazy. He vaguely recalled the rain, the blinding headlights, and the sensation of his body hitting the pavement. "Who brought me in?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The nurse hesitated. "She’s still here, waiting outside. Do you want me to call her in?"Ethan nodded weakly, uns

Meanwhile, back at Paige's family, they were all glad. “It's a good thing you got rid of him.” Tiffany said with a wide grin. “Why now?” Cassandra’s father asked, staring at her in the face. “I got what I wanted. I see no reason why I should keep him around.” Cassandra said with a smirk etched on her face. “And what is that?” Frank Paige asked. Cassandra was about to talk when her phone rang. “Is that Williams?” Tiffany asked. Cassandra nodded, getting out of her sofa chair. She walked briskly into the other room, where her parents could hear her giggle with laughter. “Mom, what do you think about planning the biggest wedding in town?” Cassandra asked, staring at her mother. “Did he pop the question? Did he ask you out?” Tiffany looked at her. “Yes, Williams would like to marry me, but of course I need to divorce Ethan.” “Why didn't you think of getting him a divorce letter before you decided to end things with him?” Frank looked at her. “Because the marriage was a scam. “Fine. I will do it,” Ethan said after thinking about it. “That is the spirit,” Miranda said with a wide grin. “Don't worry; I have you. All I need you to do is just make his world crumble. I need him to regret ever double-crossing me,” Miranda said with a wide grin. “ Like I said earlier, what is in it for me?” Ethan asked again. “ What do you want? I know you have been badly hurt. Is it revenge you seek? Or perhaps, money, wealth?” Miranda stared at his face. “ I want both.” Ethan replied sharply. “ Fine, you can have all of it as long as you help me take them down.” She looked at him as she drank the whiskey in front of her. “ Don't you think you need to share your last with me. I told you mine.” Miranda looked at Ethan's face. “ Well, I was wallowing in debt.” Ethan said gently and paused. “ I could start with that, pay off everything. Just a phone call and all of them are sorted out.” “ I don't think there is a need for that anymore. She made sure I didn't have a home to retur

A day was picked for Cassandra and William’s wedding. It was the talk of the town with many in anticipation about it. “ Are you ready?” Miranda asked, looking at Ethan in the face. “ I don’t know why but I feel a little bit anxious.” Ethan replied. “ You are not tied to the Paige anymore. You are with me now.” Miranda Said with a smile on his face. “ What do you have on Williams Hargrove?” Ethan looked at her. “ Why don’t we make this more interesting?” Miranda said sharply. “ Interesting? How?” “ Why don’t we get married?” Miranda asked, looking at him. “ Married? Why would you want to marry a man with nothing? Look at me.” Ethan said pitifully “ I don’t think I am ready to get married again. Not after what happened to me the last time.” “ I am not, Cassandra and I will never do anything to hurt you.” She said slowly. Miranda's ears rang at the impact, but she maintained her cool, with her eyes shining in anger as she comforted herself not to go out of character yet. “You slapped me.” She uttered in disbelief. Cassandra nodded, looking grave. “And I will slap you again for being the worst person I could ever imagine. You had that piece of trash in your hands all along, yet you rallied around me, pretending to forget about it and never mentioning a word. How do you think that makes me feel, huh? Do you think that I am happy with the things that I am hearing? Of course not!” Cassandra thundered. Miranda put her hands down and kept on staring at Ethan who sauntered towards the front of the hall with a small smirk on his face. Miranda and Ethan laughed to the heart's content immediately after they entered the car. Who would have imagined that Cassandra was going to react that way? "I have never seen her this angry in my life. Not even when she wanted me gone out of her life." Ethan commented as a driver turned on the ignition. Miranda couldn't help her laughter from bubbling out of her lips. "I'm sure that you wouldn't be able to believe her eyes but that's part of the package. I have always wanted to see her suffer." Ethan didn't know how to feel about that. He and Miranda had not finally come to a conclusion about what they were about to do to these guys. "Why do you hate your friend so much?" He inquired just to understand the road map of this revenge scheme. Miranda shrugged carelessly but he didn't believe that. "Let's just say that Williams and I have a score to settle and I need to emerge as a winner." She replied earnestly. Nothing disturbed Ethan because he also had a singular goal but

VOWS OF VENGEANCE Boundaries And Plans
Cassandra locked eyes with Ethan and scowled as he descended the stairs. "Oh, my goodness. Here comes the bride." She mocked."I would have said the same for you but we all know the reason you got married to him. You want a slice of his properties." Ethan didn't waste time returning the energy making her go red in the face. Miranda snickered in the background before averting her eyes pretending not to listen to them. "Oh? Is that what you think my marriage was?" Cassandra fired at him. "Exactly what I think it is. You came here to undermine me. Why should I spare you my thoughts? If you had any tangible reason you would have made it known. I think it's becoming borderline worrisome that you engage yourself in conversations about me when you can simply pretend that I do not exist in any form or shape and we wouldn't have problems." Ethan fired back. Cassandra's eyes remained wide as she tried to figure out what gave Ethan sudden boldness besides Miranda's money. "It's amazing how a

The Restocked Stock (II)
Ethan moved straightway to the back of the house, waiting for a change so that he could now go on with his major reason for being here. Nothing was going to change the fact that there was a discord somewhere and they needed to be like a break to make sure that everything was already done properly. As much as he would have loved to wait for some time and discuss, he needed to also leave so that he wouldn't get into a mess. The world was already speaking great about him but that didn't change the fact that people would turn against you when the time was right and he didn't want to be caught up in such a situation. Pulling out his phone and reaching out to his wonderful woman. Miranda. She was the only one who had the right not to be involved in this but at the same time also needed to come as fast as possible to his aid. He was not going to waste time discussing with Williams when he could just send a protege that would get the job done and then he wouldn't have to look over his s
The Restored stock
Williams stretched out in prison, looking for a better way of handling the situation but found none as everything that came knocking on his door came with a lot of baggage that he could not even comprehend and was looking for the best way to handle the situation. He shouldn't have allowed his anger to get the best out of him because now he was behind bars again for the same reason he wanted to leave. "Do not come over here unless you have something tangible to tell me. If you want to convince me why don't you go ahead and just tell me from the start instead of making me believe that I have a chance but that's not the truth of the matter." He said a little bit annoyed when he saw Ethan again. This time Ethan had forgotten what it felt to be remorseful especially when he came to somebody like this and he wanted to treat him to a point where he would regret his life and never tried the same thing that he did in the beginning. "I was going to be merciful to you but I realized that you
The Returnee
Williams looked at the interior of the cell wondering how his life had declined to this state where he could no longer feed properly and was left to rot inside a place where he had absolutely no idea what was going on. It was almost as though he was wasting his time here when it could be outside taking revenge. The amount of pain that he felt was enough to send him almost across borders, but he didn't say a word; instead, he just kept on looking. The only reason that he had not committed suicide was because he didn't want Ethan and Miranda to win. They were the ones behind all of this he knew this. He just needed somebody who could trust him enough to bring him out of this mess and then he would show them the stuff that he was made of without having to break a sweat. The problem of having to wait for so long before somebody decided to take pity on him was something that he did not want to take for granted, but at the same time, he was still trying to figure out what to do next.
Odds and Opps
A little more push and Williams would have confessed that he was the one who had pulled that stunt but he already had a goal and had not achieved it yet. He would rather die than to speak up, even if the people were being screened one after the other. "Oh, is there anything wrong with you apart from the fact that you already have things set up? I don't know why you will restrict us from leaving when my mother is already in the hospital? I can't stay here simply because you did not trust that the people you employed would not have a hand in this shenanigans!"As truthful as his words might have sounded, everything was completely fake to Ethan and he began to watch the person carefully. For him to possess such an audacity, he had something to hide and it was not something small. Phil's manager also felt the same way and he turned to look at the person who was challenging him. This wasn't somebody who was begging for a job, instead it was somebody who couldn't wait to get out of thi

"Somebody grab this man! He was the one talking to her before she fainted. Who knows if he has done something simply because she doesn't like him anymore? I don't know why you would subject yourself to such horror simply because you cannot take the hint that this woman doesn't want you in her life anymore?!" The insult did nothing against Ethan as Cassandra's fiance kept on shouting and trying to disgrace him."I'm sure you have the CCTV cameras, why do you act like a local? If you cannot use your money wisely, do you even think you should get married?" Ethan pointed at him in a derogatory manner. "I'm not going to stand here and watch you insult me simply because you cannot use your intelligence. I don't bloody care about your opinion about me either, in case you have not noticed."The insults run deeper than Phil intended it to. His face colored, as he moved closer, attempting to smack this man across the face and show everyone that he was capable. "Oh you wouldn't dare do that to
The poison
Williams watched from the server's desk, wearing his mask over his face as he moved around, entertaining visitors and asking what they would like. This idea was suggested by his friend which he had initially thought didn't make any sense until he realized how important it was to him and then figured out that he had probably lost a lot."So, what the hell is this? Do you think that I would not have been mad at you or something? I have more than enough reason not to listen to your words even if you try." Cassandra challenged Ethan when he pointed out the obvious. "My husband is a straight man, he loves me so much and...""He is bisexual. Cassandra you don't want to end up with someone like this. You cannot cope. You know this deep down, so why the unnecessary anger at me? Didn't you have a check like you should? or let me guess... She exclaimed.Ethan laughed at her unnecessary surprise because he felt like she should have known by now that he would have figured out that she was trying to move on with another person. "What kind of ex would I be if I didn't show up at your intimate engagement? Does Williams know that you are getting married to another person?" He asked in a good natured tone, shocking her to the bone.If anyone had told Cassandra a long time ago that she would have to bother herself so much about Ethan, she would have refused and called them a liar. "So what?" She challenged, "Are you going to tell him? Are you going to scream at the top of your voice that I have decided to move on with my life and not get carried away by whatever is expected o
The Wedding
"Engaged? To whom?" Ethan asked with mild curiosity, as he kept on scrolling through his phone, looking for the news in the media. How she had managed to keep it hush was still a surprise to him because immediately the media got wind of such news, they would have a field day publishing it to whomever it may concern. "So, according to insiders, it is rumored that now that Williams has been stripped of his position and she has no need for him anymore, she decided to move on with life and I don't blame her one bit." "Yeah, right. That is wonderful to hear. I wouldn't advise her to stay with him either." Ethan responded. Not only was Williams now broke, he was also a woman beater, who knew what she could say that would anger him and that may lead to her demise, so it was better that she was far away from him where he couldn't touch her. "Yeah, right. I have absolutely nothing to fear, and at the same time, I still feel like there is an issue somewhere that I have to address. Do you h

Ethan leafed through the pages of information before him, enjoying his solitude. He had been used to being alone most of the time and now that wasn't just going to change because Miranda had also traveled to Zanzibar.Since she wasn't wanted by the cops, there was no need for her to remain in the country like her ex fiance and while there was a huge difference between both parties, they ensured that they remained as cordial as possible. His phone rang, cutting off his attention from what he considered important to himself."Jenna?" "Y-yeah, I'm on my way to your house. I hope you are at home. Even if you aren't, I would wait for you. I wanted to inform you about my movement so that you don't get worried about it." He could handle her surprises better than Miranda. "Tell me the details for your arrival. Hav
