The Meeting

It was a sight to behold, that would be funny to anyone who is watching, three people running together, at the same time not together, one woman running in front of me, and the other one is behind me, in fact, at that moment she was running almost beside me, and behind all of us and chasing us are two huge beasts, I didn't think about what they were or how to confront them. The woman running in front of me appeared to be armed, with two short swords. She hesitated, for no one is supposed to be in this forest, based on the knowledge i gathered, and it's supposed to be uninhabited.

So what are they doing here? Of course, I don't know myself, what I am doing,, or why I am here, in that case, there is no reason to wonder about their reasons for being here like mine.

After gathering clues from whatever has happened so far, nothing here is clear. is a coincidence. Everything was prearranged meticulously, and cleverly, which is easily noticeable and obvious, so the question is, "What is next now?" and "Isn't it time to get clues that we can follow?" Or are we going to just be like pawns, played by their hands however they like and whenever they like?.

Or maybe I am overthinking things. I don't know. Imagine someone who is running for his life and still thinking about something else, totally irrelevant to his situation. I don't want you to think I am belittling the situation I am in, but believe me, that is what was happening at that moment. We had been running for almost 15 minutes. That was probably the reason for my behavior and my brain being here and there at the same time.

When we suddenly heard gunshots, I had to assume and say we were here, because, from the side of my eyes, I saw the woman running beside me and nothing changed from her, she didn't slow down or even look around or anything. The same thing could not be said about the one running in front of me, apparently she hesitated for a split of a second and continued running, and again one more time the gunshots were heard, and this time I could even guess where the sound was coming from, and that was exactly ahead of us, exactly where we are running to.

I didn't think for a second or compare between the two dangers, the gunshots ahead of me and the wild beast behind me. Being between the two risks, I came to one conclusion, the gunshots ahead of me are the safest one to gamble with because at least humans are shooting the guns, so either they are shooting at another beast or at another human; either way, we will get some defense from the beasts chasing us, so instead of slowing down, I increased my speed towards where the gunshots are coming from.

The sound became closer and closer, after a few minutes of our running towards the gunshots, when I suddenly felt a change in the sounds of the beasts that were chasing us behind us. When I looked back, I saw the two beasts turning back where we came from and running back. Were they afraid of the gunshots, or has something else piqued their interest, I couldn't tell, but that was a piece of good news and a relief to me and the two women, my running companions, since there is nothing else we share and I don't know anything about them, so I thought nothing was compelling me to run towards the gunshots since I have another option now.

It seems that all of us came to the same conclusion because when I stopped, the other two also stopped at the same time, I looked at the one who was in front of me, the one with the swords, and wondered where did she got those beautiful short swords. I moved towards her, and apparently she felt my presence and readied herself by grabbing both swords very hard in her hands.I had to start a conversation to put her at ease, so I said, "Hello, my name is Aden, and I am lost in this forest." "Do you happen to know where we are?" Meanwhile, I raised my hands in a sundered position, showing her I meant no harm.

As soon as I came closer to her, before she could even answer my question, I saw the same screen with the information I had seen earlier appear in front of my face:

I don't know why or how, but it's obvious that we are in the same situation. She hesitated for a second then said, "My name is Amun, and I don't know where we are or why we are here." Now it's becoming like a game I used to play, which used to show every character's information when you had a certain skill.
