Chapter 23: Velma's Backstory

As Velma got out of the principal’s office, she headed back to her class with the red file in her hand and secretly called out to Jixie, signalling that they both need to go outside.

Jixie receiving such message did not hesitate and stepped outside with Velma. As they both got outside, Velma flaunted the red file she had with her, saying, “guess what’s in my possession.”

“Come on, I am not here for your silly games. Tell me what happened in there and what you have on your hand.” Jixie replied with obvious acts of curiosity.

“Okay, but let’s head to the rooftop, it’s quite delicate to talk about such an issue in public.” Velma replied while still teasing Jixie.

“Fine, quickly!” Jixie grunted, took one of Velma’s hands and dragged her to the rooftop.

As they both finally managed to reach to the rooftop and without any further hesitation, Jixie shakes Velma to tell her what happened in the office. After many tries and conviction, Velma finally gave up and gave Jixie the gist of everything that happened in there.

As she listened to her story, different reactions can be seen displayed by Jixie, majorly, shock, surprise and disappointment. After Velma was done with her story, Jixie immediately facepalmed herself in disappointment and replied, “you were supposed to get us out of trouble!”

“Calm down, okay? Don’t you realize it? We can never run away from his grasp. So, it will be better to face him secretly. If we don’t act, we will surely be dead meat in Axel’s hands.

Still confused? Axel wants to kill me because of his insecurity and Abel would probably want us dead due to my involvement in his failed assassination.

Again, coming to this school already got me indirectly connected to Axel. Sooner or later, he’s probably gonna find out that I am with Eugene, who he sees as a threat due to his past records of being a gang leader in his middle school years.

Like come on, face it, I was never safe since the beginning. My father works for a business corporation who are toxic rivals against the Albion group who are also currently into partnership with the Dirty Crowns Gang.

Someday or later, I will soon be targeted as a hostage, who will serve as a bargaining chip to get information from my father! You ask why I still keep in contact with Eugene? Eugene is in the situation I am in.

Eugene’s mom did the Albion group dirty and soon, when my father’s business corporation falls in defeat or gets seems hardheaded, they can simply go for her in an all out business attack.” Velma finally snaps out as she spits out her worries.

“Uhmm, simply go to another country and live a new life.” Jixie replies with an annoyed expression.

“That is a sensible idea, if only that my dad didn’t get himself deep into the inner society of the Milestones Corporation. For fuck’s sake, he is the corporation’s doctor who literally attends to injured hired assassins, bodyguards, directors and the circle’s family members. He is balls deep into the business underworld, that he sold his freedom to the corporation in order to get rich. As I am talking to you now, I am a member of the Milestones corporation’s inner circle and my movement is being watched. Do you know what my dad told me? That I should not think of running away, unless I want to die. That I should try to live life the way it is!” Velma explains further as a tear slowly drops down her left eye.

She then slowly drops to her knee on the floor as she tries as much as possible to avoid shedding tears. Velma then let’s her back rest on the railings and then adjust herself into sitting down.

Seeing her in such condition, Jixie sat next to her, made Velma rest her head on her lap as she caresses her hair and head.

As Velma got herself back together, she continued to speak on about her problems, “I listened to Eugene’s story and do you know what I found out? His mom is already ready to accept death just to make sure that her son lives a peaceful and cool life.

Her son didn’t want it that way as he desires to protect her and have them both live instead. That is how family is supposed to be but look at mine, they don’t care about me but their reputation and lifestyle.

My father can’t give birth to another child because he took his testicles off just to enjoy having raw sex with women and keep on being rich and what did my mom do? She went and slept with any stud and business tycoons to gain more power in the business world.

What about me? I had to grow up being taken care of by my nanny and as well, grow to see my parents live a life of bloodshed, toxic competitions and satisfying their desires.

I even knew how to fight as my nanny suggested I should learn some basic martial arts for self defence, behind my parents’ back, against kidnappers and assassins. Like seriously, I am one lucky girl to have parents who knows when not to cross the line against the higher ups and against other business groups, because I know that I would have been a hostage in many kidnapping cases and probably die, since they would definitely not let out any information, after all, they will still want to keep their rich lifestyle.”

“Don’t let it bother you alright? Just calm down a little bit and try to forget all that. I actually have a question though, what are you planning with the ranking list?” Jixie asked.

“Even if I am clueless myself, I know one thing for sure. If I want to escape from their claws, I need to make connections, not only that, I need to know my future enemies, have more information about them and all the rest.

Especially, it will be great to find gangs that are affiliated with the milestones corporation, come to a deal with them and further the progress of my success rate of my escape. I want to live a normal life, free from all this business political wars and etc.” Velma explains.

“That sounds more like a double edged sword plan. The risk of getting the higher ups alert and as well as escaping from their grasp.” Jixie disagrees with the plan.

“Uhm, they won’t mind me if I will keep my mouth shut for sure.”

“That is where you are mistaken. Why would they lose a sacrificial lamb or in business terms, a human resource? What if they wake up one day, asking your father to do absurd things? They would definitely use the trick of who will take care of him if he loses his only heir.

To be precise, it will sound more like, who is going to pay for your future brothel fees. What if we terminate your income sources, who is going to help you out? These threats are effective against a father, especially, if all the father thinks about is sleeping with women.

You might think you are irrelevant and useless to them but your father is a doctor, who acts like a foolish pawn that is in their palms. So his knowledge is needed and his expertise in surgeries is as well, needed also. Despite your father being a scumbag, he might still have some human consciousness, like not getting on the government’s bad side.

Telling him about going to other countries is also a bad idea, because I am 80% sure, the corporation might be sending in spies as sluts for your father and at anytime, especially, during his moment of climax, he might spill the beans during intercourse.

To summarize all, you guys are still having an easy life, because they are still concentrating on taking down the Albion group for the moment. If there is a break period for the corporation, you guys might skyrocket into their no.1 concern.” Jixie explains her ideology before continuing to suggest something else,

“Anyways, let’s check the ranking list, no knowledge is a waste.”

“Fine fine, I’ll open it up.” Which Velma did only for them to get shocked the more at the sight of the list.
