Carolina showed him the phone screen.

She was right. According to the call history, Oliver was the last person Trisha had a conversation with.

“Because it’s not me,” Oliver answered without hesitation.

Seeing how Oliver was denying the accusation, Carolina became hysterical.

“According to a witness, someone pulled the necklace from my daughter’s neck, and took her in a white van! And now, you’re telling me it’s not you?!”

“Yes.” Oliver nodded. “Your statements don't even prove any evidence that it was me who orchestrated the kidnapping.”

“We encourage everyone to stay away from the road in the meantime, as you could obstruct the police chasing the suspects.”“Take note that the intruders we’re searching for were dangerous, and they could put your life in danger. If you see someone suspicious, don’t hesitate to report it to the police.”“Again, this is the Capital’s Police Department. The resident’s safety is our number one priority.”Oliver and Zerenette froze, both of them clenching their fists upon hearing the announcement.“What the heck did they just say? That we’re dangerous? But they’re the ones who wanted to kill me!” Zerenette exclaimed, the anger and disbelief evident in her tone.

Both of them continued running, being attentive to their surroundings as they went silent afterward, conserving their energy. But as they were on their way, the glowing door remained at the back of Oliver’s memory. That name, Project Nuclear, carved deep into his thoughts.‘The others need to know about this,’ he thought, his face laced with determination.‘Whatever the Devoran family was planning with that project, we need to stop it. Everything they plan always leads to no good.’Little did he know, Zerenette had the same thought. She didn’t speak it aloud, but she made a silent promise to herself.

“But are you sure about this?” asked Zerenette in the middle of her climbing. “This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity. It’s rare for us to be in a place like this.”Oliver didn’t answer immediately. To be honest, he agreed with Zerenette’s words. It could be harder for them to go back sooner, since the Devoran Corporation would tighten its security after someone infiltrated their place.“I’m sure,” Oliver answered, the finality evident in his voice. “Just like what I have told you before, your safety is my number one priority.”He added, “I also have taken mental notes of the interiors of this place. Even if they change some of it, the foundation remai
