Chapter 1: Unfaithful Wife
Oliver looked a bit rough around the edges.
He was wearing a tank top soaked with sweat, his sunburned skin and solid muscles on display.
Over his shoulders, he balanced two heavy crates filled with fish, easily over 300 pounds between them. Yet, he moved with an effortless stride.
Out of nowhere, a rock flew through the air, landing right by his foot and causing him to pause.
It had to be those lazy coworkers of his, who always dumped the hardest jobs on him.
Before he could spot the culprit, the market boss, Anthony, roared out from across the way.
“Oliver! You think I pay you to slack off during work hours?”
Yep, Oliver couldn’t even deserver a minute to catch his breath. To Anthony, he was no more than a workhorse.
And it wasn’t just Anthony—everyone in town saw him the same way.
For two reasons: First, he was an outsider.
Second, the real kicker, he’d married the town’s richest beauty, Trisha Henverton.
She wasn’t from some grand family, but around here, she was still a step above the rest.
A newcomer waltzing in and marrying the town’s finest was bound to draw some envy.
“Hurry up! If those deliveries aren’t on time, I’ll have your head!”
Anthony’s yelling continued, and Oliver let out a sigh.
“If you really want things done faster, maybe have the guys standing around all morning help carry a few crates?”
“You telling your boss how to do his job?”
Anthony’s gaze was cold, but Oliver didn’t back down.
“Just stating facts,” Oliver replied plainly.
He had no interest in wasting time on those pointless arguments.
Anthony let out a bitter laugh, stepping closer with a sneer. He jabbed Oliver’s shoulder with a stick in his hand.
“You think being Trisha's husband makes you something special? Everyone in town knows she’s got herself a rich man on the side.”
That made Oliver stop cold.
He could tolerate insults against himself, but no one disrespected his wife.
He glared at Anthony.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Anthony laughed louder, like he’d heard the funniest joke.
“What, you like facts, right? Fact is, every guy in town’s seen your wife’s backside.”
Anthony thrusted his hips forward for effect.
“She was right beneath me, begging, ‘More, more, mo—’”
BAM!
Before he could finish, Oliver’s fist met Anthony’s face, knocking him to the ground.
“Shut your filthy mouth,” Oliver said coldly.
“Fuck!” Anthony spat out some blood, his shock quickly turning to pure rage.
“Fifty bucks to anyone who knocks him down!”
At Anthony’s command, the idlers who had been watching Oliver work all morning rose to their feet.
A few grabbed whatever tools were nearby, cracking their knuckles as they approached Oliver with smug grins.
Oliver clenched his fists, ready for a fight—
BANG!
A gunshot rang out, and a bullet struck the ground near one man’s feet, kicking up a small cloud of dirt.
The man jumped back with a yell.
Everyone froze in shock.
“What the hell was that?”
They all looked around, searching for the source of the shot.
Stepping into view was a woman with a fierce look and an air of mystery.
She wore a tight dress that hugged her figure, showing off her long legs and deep neckline.
In her hand, she held a gun, pointing it directly at them.
The woman’s sharp gaze swept the room, and settled on Oliver.
“Easy, gentlemen. I don't like fighting."
Everyone froze, barely daring to breathe, afraid the next bullet might land on them.
No one would question her marksmanship after what happened before.Who was this woman? Was she one of Oliver’s debt collectors?Oliver narrowed his eyes, his muscles tensing as he took in her unexpected arrival.
The woman didn't ask any question, but she seemed to get an answer that what was going on here.
"You all have no idea who he is, do you?"
She asked, a small, unexpected smile forming on her face. Then She cleared her throat, raised her voice:
"I’m here for Oliver. Just leave him alone, you all will get these."
Lowering her gun, she slid it back into her holster, then reached into her pocket and pulled out a thick wad of cash.
She tossed the stack of hundred-dollar bills onto the table.
Next second, everyone's attention shifted.
"What the fuck? How many thousands are those?!"
When they rushed forward, scrambling for the money scattered on the table, she turned to Oliver.
But he spoke first.
"Who are you?" He frowned, asking.
To his surprise, the gorgeous woman bowed in front of him.
“Oliver, we’ve been looking for you for a long time.”

That was the only thing Oliver needed to hear.In an instant, the immense energy on Oliver’s body faded, as if it didn’t exist in the first place.“What the hell happened?” Jack couldn’t help but ask, his eyes widening in shock. “The massive energy inside you…”“Did you think that I wouldn’t be able to control it once I release all of it?” Oliver’s lips curved into a smirk. “Wrong, Ferguson. Like you, I can control mine.”He added, “And I don’t know what you were planning—On why you wanted me to go all in. But that won’t happen.”Melissa was right. Oliver didn’t lose the Legion V.Also, Oliver doesn’t have any plans to die in Jack’s hands. After all, it wasn’t only the Legion V he was protecting. He was also protecting his wife and daughter.“Fucking crap,” Jack muttered in an irritated tone, clenching his hands, hiding the immense energy in his body again. However, unlike Oliver, Jack had a hard time doing that. His body felt the withdrawal symptoms in an instant. Without a warning, Oliver shoved forward, but Jack twisted, ducked low, and kicked upward, catching Oliver’s ribs.“Ugh!” he groaned as he staggered back a step. Then, he retaliated with an upward punch, landing onto Jack’s stomach as the latter’s back hit the wall.“Shit!” Melissa flinched as the walls shook, feeling the overwhelming energy of the people fighting beside her. Oliver didn’t realize it, but he used a part of his energy with that attack. He was having a hard time controlling it because of the different things running through his mind.Little did he know, Jack noticed it.“You’re having a hard time holding back now. Great.” Jack smirked. “I want you to give everything you got, Oliver.”“Because that’s how I can unleash everything, too.”As Jack was trained with the power given to him, he could unleash it whenever he wanted to, and he could also hold back when necessary. However, Jack wanted to end everything all at once.He didn’t want to make the same mistake three year

However, even though they had been fighting for quite a while now, Jack’s movement was still the same.He dodged and attacked perfectly and simultaneously, as if he were playing a game.“It’s nice to see this side again, Zero,” said Jack with a devilish tone.Jack added, “I really feel the happiest every time I piss you off, especially when I take one step ahead of you.”Oliver chose to ignore him. He only focused on offense and defense, while at the same time, he was waiting for Nick and Ray to update them.“Nick! Ray!” Melissa called them, the panic evident in her voice. “Please answer me! Are you two okay?”Melissa checked through the feeds, her expression becoming more desperate with every second. But the smoke in the weapons room blurred the cameras, and Melissa couldn’t do anything about it.“They can’t make it out alive,” Jack said with a smirk. “The clone’s self-destruction is an explosion, and Nick just did the perfect move to trigger it.”He glanced through the screen and s

“Don’t attack recklessly, Nick! You’ll die!” Melissa shouted through the comms. “Stay back! “After all, the commander is doing his best, so I can sit comfortably in the command room and guide you,” Melissa added, her tone serious. With her fingers typing aggressively on the table, Melissa looked at the entire situation in the weapons room while ignoring the chaos between Oliver and Jack in the command room.“Go to its left side, Nick,” Melissa muttered, zooming the part toward the clone. “I can see something blinking on it.”“I didn’t know what it was—it could be a remote control or a bomb. It would be helpful if you could confirm it.”“Alright…”After taking a deep breath, Nick went into a fighting position and lunged forward, planning to shoot the man in the neck.“Nick, don’t,” Melissa suddenly commanded, her voice low. “I’ve noticed that its thermal heat exceeded in a short span. Any contact with an explosion could be dangerous for you and Ray.”“What?” Nick asked, his brows furrowing in confusion.“All of your enemies have guns, and they are even aiming at you earlier,”

“Samuel was right in his suspicion, huh…” Jack said, his lips curving into a smirk. “It should be hard for you to defeat, let alone fight with me.”“But look at you. You’re dodging as if it were nothing.”Oliver chuckled, his hands folded as he moved from left to right, avoiding Jack’s attacks, not even thinking twice about his movements.“What’s Samuel’s suspicion about me?” Oliver asked, raising an eyebrow. However, it doesn’t look like Oliver was genuinely curious about it.It seemed like Oliver was just taunting Jack, letting him see how unserious he was in their battle.“Come on, Zero. Don’t act like you don’t know!” Jack smiled devilishly as he lunged forward, aiming for Oliver’s head. “He had a suspicion that you’re something else!”“And he was right. Look at you know. Do you think that was a movement of an ordinary person?”Jack intentionally moved faster, pushing Oliver to the corner, as he continued his attacks.“You’re moving faster than lightning.” Jack clicked his tongue
