Chapter 1: Unfaithful Wife
Oliver looked a bit rough around the edges.
He was wearing a tank top soaked with sweat, his sunburned skin and solid muscles on display.
Over his shoulders, he balanced two heavy crates filled with fish, easily over 300 pounds between them. Yet, he moved with an effortless stride.
Out of nowhere, a rock flew through the air, landing right by his foot and causing him to pause.
It had to be those lazy coworkers of his, who always dumped the hardest jobs on him.
Before he could spot the culprit, the market boss, Anthony, roared out from across the way.
“Oliver! You think I pay you to slack off during work hours?”
Yep, Oliver couldn’t even deserver a minute to catch his breath. To Anthony, he was no more than a workhorse.
And it wasn’t just Anthony—everyone in town saw him the same way.
For two reasons: First, he was an outsider.
Second, the real kicker, he’d married the town’s richest beauty, Trisha Henverton.
She wasn’t from some grand family, but around here, she was still a step above the rest.
A newcomer waltzing in and marrying the town’s finest was bound to draw some envy.
“Hurry up! If those deliveries aren’t on time, I’ll have your head!”
Anthony’s yelling continued, and Oliver let out a sigh.
“If you really want things done faster, maybe have the guys standing around all morning help carry a few crates?”
“You telling your boss how to do his job?”
Anthony’s gaze was cold, but Oliver didn’t back down.
“Just stating facts,” Oliver replied plainly.
He had no interest in wasting time on those pointless arguments.
Anthony let out a bitter laugh, stepping closer with a sneer. He jabbed Oliver’s shoulder with a stick in his hand.
“You think being Trisha's husband makes you something special? Everyone in town knows she’s got herself a rich man on the side.”
That made Oliver stop cold.
He could tolerate insults against himself, but no one disrespected his wife.
He glared at Anthony.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Anthony laughed louder, like he’d heard the funniest joke.
“What, you like facts, right? Fact is, every guy in town’s seen your wife’s backside.”
Anthony thrusted his hips forward for effect.
“She was right beneath me, begging, ‘More, more, mo—’”
BAM!
Before he could finish, Oliver’s fist met Anthony’s face, knocking him to the ground.
“Shut your filthy mouth,” Oliver said coldly.
“Fuck!” Anthony spat out some blood, his shock quickly turning to pure rage.
“Fifty bucks to anyone who knocks him down!”
At Anthony’s command, the idlers who had been watching Oliver work all morning rose to their feet.
A few grabbed whatever tools were nearby, cracking their knuckles as they approached Oliver with smug grins.
Oliver clenched his fists, ready for a fight—
BANG!
A gunshot rang out, and a bullet struck the ground near one man’s feet, kicking up a small cloud of dirt.
The man jumped back with a yell.
Everyone froze in shock.
“What the hell was that?”
They all looked around, searching for the source of the shot.
Stepping into view was a woman with a fierce look and an air of mystery.
She wore a tight dress that hugged her figure, showing off her long legs and deep neckline.
In her hand, she held a gun, pointing it directly at them.
The woman’s sharp gaze swept the room, and settled on Oliver.
“Easy, gentlemen. I don't like fighting."
Everyone froze, barely daring to breathe, afraid the next bullet might land on them.
No one would question her marksmanship after what happened before.Who was this woman? Was she one of Oliver’s debt collectors?Oliver narrowed his eyes, his muscles tensing as he took in her unexpected arrival.
The woman didn't ask any question, but she seemed to get an answer that what was going on here.
"You all have no idea who he is, do you?"
She asked, a small, unexpected smile forming on her face. Then She cleared her throat, raised her voice:
"I’m here for Oliver. Just leave him alone, you all will get these."
Lowering her gun, she slid it back into her holster, then reached into her pocket and pulled out a thick wad of cash.
She tossed the stack of hundred-dollar bills onto the table.
Next second, everyone's attention shifted.
"What the fuck? How many thousands are those?!"
When they rushed forward, scrambling for the money scattered on the table, she turned to Oliver.
But he spoke first.
"Who are you?" He frowned, asking.
To his surprise, the gorgeous woman bowed in front of him.
“Oliver, we’ve been looking for you for a long time.”

For Oliver, those people were more horrible than anyone else.“But let’s give this back to the owner first,” Oliver muttered, now going inside the driver’s seat of the car.The owner had contact information and the address on the car, so Oliver was planning to bring the car there.Approximately thirty minutes later, Oliver was already in the Capital, almost near the driver’s house.Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Ray.“I’m still driving—”“Commander!” Ray exclaimed, his voice laced with panic. “Our hideout was compromised! All of our files were lost!”Upon hearing those words, Oliver immediately stepped on the brakes.Fortunately, there were no other cars behind him. Because if there had been, the car would have probably hit him.“What do you mean, ‘lost’?” Oliver asked, his voice laced with disbelief. “It was on Nick’s computer.”“It should be…” Nick answered, hearing Oliver’s statement as the call was on a loudspeaker. “But when I checked, everything was gone. My system is having

Samuel’s thoughts were halted when Oliver arrived in their direction.Carefully, Oliver laid Richard’s body on the ground.“Wow,” Nick mumbled, scratching his nose as he smelled the unpleasant smell coming from the burned body.He added to ask, “How are you able to bring the body, Commander? I mean, isn’t it hot?”“It was. I just endured it,” Oliver answered. But his expression says otherwise. It looked like he didn't have any difficulties bringing the body with him.Samuel noticed, but decided not to speak about it.‘If he’s hiding it, there must be a reason…’ Samuel thought, staring at Oliver. ‘But if he’s just not aware of his unusual strength… then he should be the one to discover it.’“His entire body was burned. There’s no way to confirm if the mark was the same now,” Oliver muttered, carefully looking at Richard’s body.“However, he doesn’t have the strange energy we found on Red back then,” he added. That is the main reason why Oliver was eager to check on Richard’s body.He

“Holy shit…” the man muttered, covering his mouth with both hands. “Zero?”Oliver only smirked. The man eyed the token, recognizing the Legion emblem. He just nodded, tossed Oliver the keys, and stepped aside without a word. For someone rich like him, who owned a Porsche, the deal’s worth was a fortune.“Once you use it, you’ll receive a code,” Oliver said, his tone serious. “If it’s something worth doing, it’ll be done.”Everyone’s jaw fell after hearing Oliver’s story.“Damn, no wonder he couldn’t deny,” Nick said, shaking his head as he clicked his tongue. “That was a worthy offer, though. Not everyone gets to Legion.”“And that’s exactly why I gave that offer,” Oliver smirked. “It was something hard to resist.”“But he could use it for his gain,” Jack said, his tone low and laced with worry. “He could use the favor for something bad.”“If that’s the case, then we won’t do it,” Oliver answered with a shrug, his one hand holding the steering wheel. “That’s why I said ‘within reason

Ray was in the front, while Samuel was in the back, as they entered the secluded area. But to their shock, instead of the two enemies running away, they saw a white van approaching them at a fast speed. Not only that, but Ray also noticed the other enemy on the back seat, pointing a gun in their direction.“Shit!” Ray muttered as he immediately took a step back, thinking that the enemy was going to shoot him since he was in the front. However, his eyes widened when the enemy didn't have any plans to shoot him, but Samuel.“Samuel!” he called, his voice laced with panic.BANG!The enemy pulled the trigger before the van passed through him. Before the bullet could burrow into Samuel’s skull, Ray pulled him to the feet, making Samuel land onto the ground.“That hurts,” Samuel complained, now holding onto his jaw, which now had a wound on it. “Damn, my jaw.”“That’s the only way I could save you,” Ray smirked, but at the same time, he was frightened. “I accept a thank you letter, you know

“I’ll check it,” Oliver added, slowly walking toward the morgue, but at the same time, being careful so no one would see him.He doesn’t have anything to fight with except his bare hands. After all, the hospital prohibited any kind of weapons, and their only mission was to take Richard’s body away, not to fight against someone else.“That’s dangerous. They’re still inside,” Jack said, still staring at the screen. “Do you have a weapon with you, Commander?”Oliver didn’t answer. He prevented any noise that would have him caught. With his clenched hands positioned on his chest, Oliver took a few steps inside the morgue, slightly pushing the door with his back.Suddenly, he noticed something flowing on the ground… toward his feet.Blood.“Shit,” Oliver muttered, his gaze immediately moving to the side.Oliver saw the two police lying on the ground.“We were compromised,” Oliver informed his group through the earpiece, crouching to check the police’s pulse. “They’re dead.”He added, “Ther

The next morning, the Legion V quickly executed the plan. All of them filed for a leave, even if this was their first day as an official Legion employee, white Jack didn’t accept any visitors. Not even Charlie.“How are you there, Jack?” Nick asked, eating a biscuit inside a rented car. “Is Charlie still bothering you?”“I think he already left,” Jack answered with a chuckle, typing on his laptop. Then, he smirked. “Nice biscuit, dude.”“How did you…” Nick was about to ask, but his eyes widened upon realizing something. “Wait… You hacked the camera in this car?”Jack only smirked in response, then he clicked onto his keyboard again, checking on Samuel, Ray, and Oliver’s place.“I disconnected it already. You could now enjoy your biscuit in peace, but make sure you’re still doing your job properly,” Jack said, his tone serious.Nick playfully answered, “Yes, Sir.”Jack was a combination of Oliver and Samuel’s personalities, so he could be intense at times. However, they were still clo
