“Sure,” Oliver answered without hesitation. “Where are you right now? I’ll come to you.”

“No,” Ryan refused on the other line. “Let’s meet at the same place you met me before?”

Raising an eyebrow, Oliver asked, “That restaurant?”

“Yes,” Ryan affirmed. “To be honest, I feel that someone has been monitoring me since I met you, and I know what they want—you.”

Hearing those words, Oliver bit his lower lip. It was certain that Zayne already knew about his allying with Ryan.

He didn’t even expect Zayne to gain information that fast; it made him want to believe that Zayne wasn’t doing things alone.

His superior was also moving this time, so his plan already worked.

But it’s not enough.

“No need to worry about me. I can handle myself,” Oliver reassured, sensing the concern in Ryan’s voice. “He can’t do anything bad about me. I still have the thing he needed.”

It was the necklace, and although Oliver didn’t know exactly how Zayne would use it for his gains, it was his current ace.

“We’ll get Richard’s body from Colossia Hospital,” Oliver told them, confirming what they were already thinking. He added, “I want to know if he has the same kind of device inside him like Red did.”Ray frowned. “You mean, like he was also part of that human bomb experiment or something?”“No. Not bombs,” Oliver shook his head. “Chips. Or some kind of nanomachine, something that could kill him if it got triggered.”Silence fell across the room. No one said a word. They’d only seen things like that in movies. Not even during missions abroad had they come across anything like it. And it wasn’t because it was unrealistic. Stuff like that would take a hell of a lot of money and advanced tech, things Colossia had never really seen before. But now that everything’s starting to feel more high-tech, it’s like… It’s actually becoming possible. It was freeing in a way, but terrifying, too.“Hmm… I see,” Samuel, who was silent for a while, finally spoke. “I also have the same hunch, but we cou

  • Chapter 312: Same Tattoo

Oliver leaned on the car and asked, “What is it?”“A tattoo,” Rebecca answered, her tone serious. “When he was brought into a van so they could transfer him to the Capital, I saw it on his right arm.”“He’s always wearing long-sleeved shirts, so I wasn’t able to notice it before,” she added. “My first impression of him is that he’s always clean. I mean, tattoos aren’t bad. I just didn’t expect that from him.”“Why?” Oliver asked, raising an eyebrow. “Is the tattoo gore? Brutal? Or somehow nasty?”“No, not really,” Rebecca denied. “The tattoo has a very unique design. Hmm… How can I explain it?”“Just tell me what you saw. I’ll figure it out, then.”“Alright…”For a moment, Rebecca’s brows furrowed as she caressed her chin, pondering deeply.“It was an umbrella with spikes and blood,” Rebecca stated, tilting her head, her tone uncertain. She added, “I’m not sure, though. Because no matter how much I think about it, the tattoo doesn’t make any sense. Could it be related to Umbrella Bank

  • Chapter 311: Richard's Body

The next morning, Oliver went to his old town. But unlike his first return, he didn’t go to Nate’s house, not even Rebecca or the Williams Corporation.Instead, he went somewhere—A place he hadn’t seen for so long.Which is the house where he was staying before Cole decided to take him officially to the Henverton mansion by marrying Trisha. At least, in other people’s eyes.“Oliver!” a woman in her mid-20s called, smiling, as she walked faster toward him.She was an ordinary woman wearing a simple t-shirt paired with a duster-like dress. She also had a hat while carrying a basket of fruits in her right hand.“It’s you, isn’t it?” the woman asked, staring at Oliver with her brows furrowing. “I’m right! You came back!”“I did, Maria,” Oliver answered with a smirk. “But I’m shocked how you recognized me while most people, even if they knew me before, didn’t.”Maria chuckled. “You may have a different appearance now, but you’re still the same Oliver I know. Of course, I will recognize y

“Where are you going, Commander?” Ray asked, wiggling his brows, as if he was teasing him. “Family time with the wife and daughter?”“That's one of them,” Oliver answered with a smile. “But aside from that, I need to go somewhere.”Nick frowned. “Where?”“To my old town,” Oliver replied, his tone casual. “I need to check on my previously acquired companies… and something else.”Everyone looked at Oliver, and he could see the curiosity in their expression. However, Oliver only said, “It was something I couldn't tell you right now. But one thing is for sure. Everything is under control.”The four of them didn't understand what it meant. However, they nodded, fully trusting Oliver without any hesitation.*****Before his trip to town, Oliver went to the house he bought for Seraphine and Anastasia first. There, he saw Anastasia running toward him.“Daddy!” Anastasia exclaimed, her voice and expression filled with joy as she smiled widely. “It has been a long time since I last saw you!”S

“What’s the matter?” Oliver asked, his brows furrowing as he saw Nick, who was staring intently at the handkerchief. “Why? Did you notice something strange?”Nick pointed at the mark. “I’m just wondering why these two say that this is an umbrella.”“Because it is?” Oliver answered, tilting his head in confusion.“It’s not an umbrella,” Nick said, the confidence evident in his tone, as he moved the handkerchief. “Can’t you see? It’s a spade.”With a smile, Nick moved the handkerchief side by side, showing the mark to Ray and Samuel, as they were the nearest to him.“A spade… I don’t think it makes sense,” Ray answered, his face grimacing. “No matter how I look at it, the sides were edgy. A spade shape isn’t like that.”“I agree.” Samuel nodded, agreeing with his arms crossed. “I’ve been trying to justify your claim, but until now, I can’t think of a valid reason.”“Tch.” Nick rolled his eyes. “I also can’t explain why, but I see a spade, okay?”Upon hearing those words, Oliver frowned

  • Chapter 308: Three Projects

“Oliver,” greeted Rebecca on the other line, her tone low yet polite. “I have something to tell you. We have already found out what happened to your account.”Frowning, Oliver asked, “What is it?”“Turns out that someone from the Umbrella Bank froze your account, making it seem like you couldn’t use your money unless you signed the document Trisha gave you.”Rebecca sighed and added, “I’m glad you didn’t fall for her antics at that time.”“That’s what happens when there’s trust between the bank account holder and its manager,” Oliver replied, smirking, yet his tone was genuine. “So, who is it?”“Richard Blac
