He licked his cracked lips. "The ice zombies are just the scouts, giant," the raider explained. His voice dropped to a terrified, shaking murmur. "They are just the tiny fingers of the beast." The pure blue light from the Echo Seed outside shined through the small, dirty windows. Jonah walked through the heavy metal doorway. He held a thick, rough rope in his giant, scarred hand. His face was painted with black ash, but the ash was smeared with sweat and dark red blood. Kevin’s steel-tipped arrow was still stuck deep inside the man’s right arm. The man groaned loudly, grabbing his wounded arm. Jonah kicked the heavy metal door shut. CLANG. He locked it tight, shutting out the screaming storm. The room was quiet.
