Chapter Three: Forbidden Attractions

Cruz swallowed hard and realized just how much he had missed his wife. It had been almost three months since they have had any form of intimacy, especially as she decided to move to a saperate room.

Initially, it was a matter of needing some privacy to be able to get some official work done from home. And then gradually, it had turned into complete withdrawal. She had suddenly grown too busy and unavailable for him.

He knew he would have to act fast to save his marriage. He sighed and decided to head for the pool.

He grabbed the towel that was placed on one of the seats by the pool. She was swimming below the surface and had not raised her head to see him.

He walked beside her motion to the end of the pool with the towel in his hand.

He hurried to reach the end before her to hand her the towel immediately she popped her head.

As he held out the towel, her head popped up, but surprisingly, it wasn't Lesley.

"Lima?!"

He exclaimed in shock.

Lima was more stunned than he was as her head popped out of the water. She instinctively sank back slowly into the water the moment she saw Cruz. She didn't expect anyone to be there at that time.

Cruz wondered within himself why he had thought she was Lesley. He had never seen her in a swimsuit before so he was surprised that she could be easily mistaken for Lesley.

The brief moment he had seen her face and the upper part of her bosom, the sight was unexpectedly appealing. She was a beauty to behold in her partially claded state.

There was nothing that would have made him look at her in that way prior, so he didn't anticipate he would find her attractive in any sense. He shook off the thought.

"You can come out now, Lima" Cruz finally found his voice once the shock had worn off.

He looked away, while he held out the towel to her as she shyly climbed out of the water. She took the towel and wrapped it around her body.

"Sorry, Mr. Cruz." She apologized softly.

Cruz looked around cautiously before turning to face her.

"Be careful, okay! Next time it could be someone else, not me. You wouldn't want that now, would you?"

He shot her a warning look as gracefully as he could, enough to deter her from a next time but not so much to spite her.

He knew the Pipers, especially Margaret would be crossed if they knew she used the pool.

"I will, Mr. Cruz" Lima said shyly as her face flushed. Then she did a quick glance around and playfully skipped away.

"Just Cruz" Cruz interjected, shaking his head, but she was already halfway gone.

He watched her as she cornered the side to go into the house through the back entrance. Even with the towel around her body, he could still notice how alluring she looked.

He shock the thought off the second time. He was married and he couldn't allow himself admire another woman apart from Lesley, he informed himself.

He remembered he had come around for a chat with Lesley, he quickly straightened and thought of the next location to find her.

An idea stuck him and he brought out his phone instead. He dailed her number.

"Cruz?" She had picked after the second ring.

"Yes, Lez...emm, can we talk. Been looking around for you." Cruz had an expectant look on his face as he replied.

"Okay, about what?" She sounded casual.

Cruz rolled his eyes. He wondered why he needed a reason to talk with his wife. He sighed and replied.

"Something important. Where are you?" He asked.

"I can't really talk right now. We'll talk tonight." She replied hastily like she was in a hurry to ditch the conversation.

"But where are..." Before Cruz could finish his sentence the call dropped.

Cruz looked at the phone with a displeased countenance.

He instantly located an app on his phone and launched it. A surveillance screen appeared that showed the different parts of the house in smaller screens. Every part of the house aside the bedrooms and baths displayed real-time.

Then he saw Lesley on one of the screens. He zoomed into the anteroom where Lesley seemed to be directing a couple of people who were installing decorations at strategic places.

For a moment, he wondered what it was all about before he suddenly remembered what Margaret had informed him of earlier. His heart ached and his posture slouched.

To think Lesley was in cahoots with her mother broke his heart into many fine pieces.

His heart was so burdened that his legs couldn't carry his weight anymore. He moved to the pool seats and dropped heavily on the closest one.

As he ruminated within himself, a beeping sound emanated from his jean. He plucked a small sleek device from his pocket and his eyes lit up.

A red light beeped from the device and the screen lit up the moment he brought it in front of his face. Then a green light from the screen scanned his face for a split second before a message appeared on the screen: 45 MINS.

He quickly jolted up and disappeared into the mansion.

——

Inside the kitchen of the mansion, a bubbly Lima cat-walked quietly in a playful way as she crept behind her mom.

Maria was dicing some veggies with all her attention glued to her work.

"Mamito" Lima suddenly whispered and placed the side of her face fondly at Maria's back, hugging her mother from behind.

A startled Maria jerked as her expression shifted from shock to a smile and then to a frown.

She eyed her daughter suspiciously immediately she stepped in front of her.

Lima was wearing a sly smile. Seeing that mischievous smile on her daughter's face only meant one thing.

"What you do now, Bambi?" Maria quizzed. Bambi was the fond name she called Lima.

"Nothing" Lima responded casually. She shrugged with the sly smile still on.

"Limmmaa?!" Her mother pressed more seriously.

"Okay mamito, Just small... hmm.." Lima's eyes glittered excitedly as she moved close to her mom with a lowered voice.

"Went to the pool for a swim"

Maria eyes widened. "Pool?!" She looked around. "Mrs. Margaret see you, she stop you coming here, okay!" Maria scolded.

Lima pouted her lips in a frown, shrugged and continued.

"Mr. Cruzzz" ahhh! Seeing him by the pool" She shut her eyes and opened them excitedly. "He's so handsome, mamito... And kind... Ahh.. those strong muscles, his eyes, his dimples..."

"Shhhh" Maria quickly hushed her daughter with an alarmed expression on her face.
