End Of World Marriage

End Of World Marriage

Kenan wanted to escape his past. Kate wanted a future she could control. On their wedding day, both are ripped away. Exposed by betrayal before their vows are sealed, their marriage fractures in front of everyone they know. Before accusations can be answered, before forgiveness or fury can settle—explosions tear through the church, and the world ends. They awaken in a cursed forest world called Horta. The trees have faces. The ground bleeds corruption. And a cold, impartial System informs them of a simple truth: They are the last heroes. Every other world has failed. Every other chosen has died. Their faces now grow in the bark of the forest that devoured them. Kenan and Kate are given a single clearing and a dying pylon. A fragile foothold in a world already lost. Cultivate it. Defend it. Expand it. Or humanity disappears with them. Waves of monsters crash against their shrinking sanctuary. Each victory buys them meters of safety. Each failure tightens the forest’s grip. What begins as a blood-soaked clearing must become a refuge. What becomes a refuge must grow into something capable of sustaining the last survivors of Earth. But survival demands more than strength. Kenan hides a violent truth from the life he tried to abandon. Kate refuses to trust the man who betrayed her. They must fight side by side while their marriage rots between them. Base by base. Wave by wave. Meter by meter. They will carve light out of corruption. They will turn wilderness into a stronghold. They will cultivate a dead world into humanity’s final hope. If they don’t destroy each other first. A dark system-apocalypse story blending base building, relentless base defense, psychological survival, and a fractured romance forced to endure the end of everything.

**DAY 3**[Quest 6: Home-maker III (Complete): Successfully grow 1 plant in your garden. Reward: +200 exp each! +100 Garden exp][Your Bonnet Corn has germinated. +100 Garden exp. Time until harvest: 1 hour 8 minutes][Pylon has gained 100 exp!]Kate went over the same notifications that Kenan had gone over a few hours ago. It was astounding that just growing things would help them level up, and she suspected that wasn't the limit of it all. Kenan was right—they had to live. As crazy as it sounded, they had to build a life for themselves here. She couldn't tell just how far it went. Farming? Homesteading? Having kids? She blushed furiously. At the moment, it just felt as if she was unnecessarily holding onto her anger at him.But at the same time, that feeling of betrayal always popped up, twisting at her insides. And then there was the darker, more sinister secret in the room that Kenan had somehow still evaded. She wanted answers, but she wasn't going to press or push him. After all

Chapter: Bonnet Corn
DAY 3:Kenan could not believe his eyes. After yesterday, he and Kate had been stable enough to spend the rest of their time training and trying to understand their skills. He'd also taken the time to give her some pointers on how to use her spear in the event she was forced into close-quarters combat. It had been particularly difficult since Kate was rather rigid in her approach. Kenan had to teach her to rely on her feet—movement and placement were one of, if not the most important aspects of combat. But that was neither here nor there, because what surprised him the most was the fact that he was looking at waist-high corn stalks. But then again, these didn't look like corn stalks. The corn grew from the tip in bunches of five to ten, and they grew from a single focal point similar to how palm kernels grew. The way the corn grew out made them look like the stalk was wearing a hat, which pretty much explained why it was called Bonnet Corn. There were at least ten stalks, with no fewe

Chapter: Planting Seeds
Kenan took a closer look at the garden in front of him. Definitely not large enough to fully grow the things that would keep them alive, but for now, this was a start. He was also trying his best not to think about his conversation with Kate. So without a doubt, he would be putting all of his attention into the task that was before him. In all honesty, it just seemed as if with Kate, he took one step forward and two steps backward. But he couldn't blame her. No matter what anybody wanted to say, it couldn't have been easy for her to have seen him in such a state with her sister—regardless of the story behind it. But much more than that, Kenan was nervous. In his emotional state, he'd told Kate that he'd gone to kill her sister. Not that it was a lie, but that was a part of his life he'd wanted to keep buried forever. He had no idea how or what he could do or say when she came to confront him about that, because he wasn't sure he could keep lying to her about that part of hi

It was barely more than a day ago she was seeing Kenan in videos and photos doing nasty things with her sister. And now this system expects her to just... just... sleep with him! She huffed in annoyance, then turned to the side. Her eyes fell on Kenan. He was going through the Basic Farmstead Bundle. Not that there was much inside of it—just a hoe, shovel, a rake, a small trowel, a watering can, and a bag of seeds that looked like they were corn, except the damn things were blue. After that,

Chapter: King Bejin
**SOMEWHERE ON HORTA**Bejin grunted softly as he finished, the gasp from the elf in his grasp signaling that she too had come to the climax of their coupling. He flung her off his body, settling back onto his throne as he pulled his massive owlbear skin robe closer to his body. He sneered at the quivering elf, then turned to his guards who had been watching their coupling from the side in complete silence."This one barely made any sound. Send her back to the pens, give her half the rations she asked for. She was not as enthusiastic as she claimed to be when she asked for an audience with me." Bejin turned to the elf. "Or do you have any protest about my kindness?"The elf, covered in bruises and unmentionable fluids mixed with sweat, shook her head. Perhaps at some point she had been a beauty—she still was, though her missing eye diminished it slightly, along with the dirty clothes she had on.The elf shakily got to her feet, her eyes glistening

Chapter: Boss Fight III
It was one thing to make a threat, and it was another to see it through. Kenan swayed on his feet, his mana completely bottomed out as his vision seemed to go blank for a second. The shaman tried to capitalize on that as the goblin waved the staff in its hands. But whatever it was trying to do, it had to call off as a quick barrage of one staff and one wand-empowered Basic Fire Bullet flew at the shaman. The goblin jumped back in fright, its shield coming into existence. And while it was safe from damage, there was no holding back the concussive force released from the skills' impact. It was thrown back head over heels before crashing down with a dull thud. Kenan took a step forward, but a staff on his shoulder brought his movement to a halt."You're barely standing as it is. Take a back seat on this one. I'll handle this shaman." Kenan frowned. "Kate, this isn't the time for this. It's dangerous...""This is exactly the time for this, Kenan! You

Chapter: Severance Vs The White Lion II
Arome crashed to the ground in a pool of his own blood. Severance burst into a wild and raucous laughter as he spread his arms wide. He turned hoping to find the look of despair he was so overly fond of, etched in the faces of Arome’s comrades. Instead, he watched wide eyes as they systematically dismantled the force he came with, his eyes drawn to the way Luna literally turned the bodies of his allies inside out. It was a scene that spoke to him and shook him to his very core. He took a step back, watching as the last of his allies were either subdued or killed. Leaving him alone against the rest of them.“I would advise you to run, your leader, Mr. prince has already fallen to me. He’s dead, cut into pieces like the animal that he is. But I welcome you all to try and face me, it would bring me so much pleasure to sever you from your bonds on this earth. And you!” he turned to Look at Luna who had taken a seat and was looking at him with one leg crossed over the other. Her pitch-blac

Chapter: Severance Vs The White Lion I
Arome stared at Severance as the super villain looked right back at him. There was an obvious tension in the air as both men were waiting for the other to make the first move. Arome was not stupid, he knew he had to be extremely careful when it came to Severance, his power was the sort that could not be dealt with in a straight forward manner. Arome inclined his head towards the katana that Severance held as he asked.“Do you know how to use that?” he asked as he turned and nodded to Aminu. Who gave him a bow and pulled up the case holding Arome’s own sword from under the bar’s counter. Severance raised an eyebrow. “What?, you want to have some sort of sword duel with me or something. I should warn you, I am a lot more dangerous than you think I am, you can not match me in a fight with blades, I will tear you to shreds.” Arome scoffed as he nodded his head.“That may be so, but you’re still going to be the one that ends up dead. So answer my question, do you know how to use that?” A

Chapter: Arrival
Arome sat in his modest room, the flickering glow of the television casting long shadows across the room. The news anchor's voice was solemn, relaying the chilling details of another brutal attack in the heart of the city. "Authorities have confirmed that the notorious villain known as Severance has struck again, leaving a trail of chaos and death in his wake. The latest incident occurred late last night in an abandoned apartment complex, where several high-profile criminal figures were found dead along with their families. Witnesses report seeing a lone figure, wielding a katana, moving through the area with lethal precision. The police are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity." Arome sighed, his mind racing with thoughts of the relentless killer who seemed to evade capture at every turn. He knew that Severance was no ordinary criminal; his methods were too refined, too calculated. This was a predator with a purpose, and it was becoming increasingly

Chapter: Excitement For Bloodshed
Mayor Akiko's office was bathed in the dim glow of the city lights that filtered through the tall windows. She stood by her desk, her silhouette sharp against the backdrop of the sprawling metropolis. With a quick, decisive motion, she picked up the phone and dialed Severance’s number. The phone rang only once before Severance answered, his voice a deep rumble. "Severance here.""Severance, we have a situation that requires immediate action," Akiko's voice was calm, each word meticulously chosen. "Prince Arome and his companions cannot be allowed to continue their operations. They have become a thorn in our side, one that must be removed.""Understood, Mother," Severance replied, his tone firm and resolute.Akiko's expression tightened at the term, but she pressed on. "The club is their stronghold," Akiko explained, her fingers tapping rhythmically on the desk. "It’s heavily guarded, but we have the element of surprise. Gather Zhang and his crew. I want this done swiftly and efficient

Chapter: Rage
The air in the mayor's office was thick with tension, a storm brewing just beneath the surface. Mayor Akiko stood behind her grand oak desk, her eyes blazing with fury. The veins on her neck and temples were visibly pulsing as her rage reached a crescendo. This was not the composed, calculating politician the city knew; this was a woman on the edge, a force of nature about to unleash her wrath. With a primal scream, Akiko's hands swept across the desk, sending papers, files, and ornaments crashing to the floor. The sound of breaking glass echoed through the room as picture frames and trinkets shattered against the walls. Her once immaculate office was rapidly transforming into a scene of chaos and destruction. She grabbed the edge of the desk and overturned it with a roar, the heavy wood slamming onto its side. The sheer force of her anger seemed to reverberate through the room, shaking the very foundations of the building. Bookshelves were next to face her wrath, their contents spill

Chapter: Confessions In A Meeting
Arome took a deep breath, trying to steady the whirlpool of emotions that Luna had stirred within him. He could still feel the phantom touch of her lips, the fiery imprint of her slap, and the tantalizing promise in her words. It was maddening, this dance of desire and duty. He knew he had to focus, to clear his mind and prepare for the dinner. There were important matters to discuss, yet his thoughts kept circling back to the twins. He stood up, his body tense with unresolved need, and made his way to his quarters. The room was sparse, almost utilitarian, a stark contrast to the opulence he had been accustomed to as a prince. He began to strip off his gear, his movements automatic and efficient, honed by years of military discipline. The familiar routine helped to ground him, to bring some semblance of order to his chaotic thoughts. As he changed into more casual attire, his mind wandered again to Astra. Sweet, gentle Astra who had endured so much. The thought of her suffering stirre
