Chapter 04

Damon's [P.O.V]

I can't give up on getting help from my wife as agreed, at least her family is rich enough to take care of Esters medical bill.

I rushed upstairs showering before later getting a cab that would take me where I knew Lilian would be... In her family house... That was my last hope.

Soon I had arrived there to see many other cars parked in the huge compound as I began to wonder why it was rather odd than normal because the compound was never this crowded with luxurious cars like it is right now.

I walked into the mansion from the front entrance of the mansion to see Lilian coming in from the back entrance of the building with different family members in the middle who were seated in the massive majestic looking parlour.

In a few seconds... Shock runs through the entire room which makes them stay quiet.

I could tell that today was their family reunion.

And I felt a bit weird about it too.

"I really don't understand... Why is he here and for what?" Lilian's mum fired at me as the rest of the family members began talking under their voices but it was clear that we were both being mocked.

"Damon? What are you really doing here? We are divorced, I don't want to have anything to do with you! I prefer my family." My now new gold digger of a divorced wife says raising her divorce papers up but the mocking still continues.

"Who told you that you can just come back any day and become part of our family again? How dare you!?" One of her relatives says to her.

"Hm." I almost laughed at the fact that her divorce did not still earn her a comfortable spot with her own family to accept her in.

"And I will marry her." I heard that wicked voice.

"Really? that is why she is a member of this family." The same relative says and it was now I began to see how gold digging on others ran in their bloods.

"Yes, I will marry her." The very ugly rich and bold nemesis of my marriage... Mr Charles says.

I noticed a huge change in the Behavior of her family members who were still attacking her as they began to praise her and compliment the news.

Hence, this did not stop them from attacking me.

Exchanging words with them was even useless because I knew exactly what I wanted.

And that was to save my daughter's life.

I smiled.

"I don't wish to argue with anyone here, your insults and mockery does not move me but sounds rather immature and disrespectful, but I have come here with only one request that really worries me." I said to them as silence filled the entire room.

"Lilian, before we divorced, we had an agreement and that was that if you become a member of your wealthy family, you will help in paying off our dying daughter's medical bill." I said to her as she stood next to Charles who held her waist.

"Now that you're a member of your family, please follow our agreement and give me the money so I can leave here in peace please." I said remembering her about her child's life and begging her and her rich family stylishly to help out.

"Em..." She was talking before she tightened her grip over Mr. Charles' suit.

"There will be no such help or any amount of money offered to him... If you help him in any way then please also understand that I won't be getting married to you." He says and the whole family reacted negatively towards me.

Charles was a multi millionaire and if I were to be compared to him... I was a good for nothing poor garage engineer according to my wife sadly.

My iPhone rings and I picked the call seeing that it was Esther's doctor calling.

"Hello, I am so sorry to tell you that we did all our best using the last hospital loan money to keep your daughter alive but her health got worse and we were... I am so sorry." The doctor said as I fell to my knees.

"Doctor no, please... please... Doctor, please talk to me, what happened?" I asked him.

"Well, we did all possible best that we could do to sustain her life with the remaining government finance but she's still slowly dying and you need to be here so even though we might need a blood transfusion, you can be of help." He says as I stayed still in surprise before I turned to look at Lilian.

"Please don't let her die, she is my everything and I cannot lose her for any reason." I said to her as tears began to slip off my face.

"Yes, we will do all our possible best to ensure that she's alive, just ensure that the bills are paid so she will get adequate treatment" He says like an actual warning as I cut the call... I didn't want my Brain to explode.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Esther is dying, I need help." I replied to her as looks away from me.

"Like he's worth being called father... Useless man." I heard her murmur under her breath and it shocked me.

"What do you mean?" I asked her in return.

"Linda! The only thing I need is exactly the help you had promised, so we can save our daughter's life." I said to her bleeding from inside my heart.

"Oh so now he wants to get money from us, pathetic! Where are the security men when you need them, kick this poor brat out of my house!" Lilians mum screams asking the family members to kick me out, like the poor brat that I seemed in their eyes.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I shouted back at one of her relatives and he moved back with the rest... Shocked by my new found boldness.

"I'd leave, don't you all worry... One day, you will all regret your actions." I said as I walked out of their house before I turned back seeing Charles smiling as he looked at me wickedly and kind of achieved.

Him and Lilian's Mum always wanted to ruin my marriage and now they feel so successful at last.

It had become all about ruining me.

They didn't even have mercy on sick little Esther... Who was dying.

My man guts just knew that their family was the enemy and if they could let Esther die... Then I should be ready for my life to be taken away too if I were in that kind of situation too.

I brought out my phone from my pocket as I called the housekeeper and he picked it up.

"Housekeeper." I said as silence followed.

"Yes master Damon, are you doing well?" He asked back in return.

"You know what?..."

"You won... I could not get help from my wife's family and the worst has even happened." I tried to explain things to him.

"What happened?" He asked.

"My daughter is dying, I need you to send the cash to the hospital, while I get there so she can be taken care of." I said to him,

"How much?" He asked me.

"Give them a million dollars... I don't want anything to happen to her..." I said before getting interrupted by him.

"Done, the money has been sent." He said back to me and I stood shocked.

"Thanks So much... Em...housekeeper?" I said to him without being able to recall his real name.

"Housekeeper is fine." He replies as I got a cap driver to head to the hospital.

"So what are you insinuating?" I added.

"I think whoever must have upset the young master and embarrassed him because of pennies should be punished." He said back to me as I got into the cap surprised.

"Punishment?" I said back to him.

"Yes! But young master, you must visit the ranch of your father and the company to head your rights as president of Monroeville incorporated."

"Alright, I accept." I said to him,

"That will be splendid!" He said it sounded old but it was still cute.

"Good Damon! I am so happy to hear you say this, let us meet tomorrow at your fathers company so we can do the rest arrangements and get you announced as the CEO of your fathers company." He says trying to get me excited but I doubt nothing is going to enlighten my mood right now.

"I hope my identity can still remain the same because I still want to see if I can get my family back together?" I asked over the phone.

"Sure, master Damon, anything can be arranged as long as you sign the legal documents as willed by your father." He said to me and I smiled.

"Alright then, see you tomorrow." I replied.

"Thanks young master Damon." He cuts the call but another call comes in.

"Hello doctor." I said, waiting for Esther's doctor's response.

"We have commenced her treatment as we received a huge sum of one million dollars for her surgery but there's something we are unable to get." He said this to me and it annoyed me.

"What is it that money can't buy for you to save my daughter's life!?" I replied to him.

"She needs blood, sir, and since you're the father, you're the best donor that we can get as fast as possible." He says to me,

"I'd be on my way." I replied cutting the call.

"Speed up to the general hospital!" I shouted tapping the driver's arm before exhaling out as a tear rolled off my eyes.

Esther... Please Stay alive for Daddy.
