Angry Banter

In the mansion, the wedding had already begun. Damien Ban was the son of the richest guy in the city, so at his wedding, there were all upper-class guests.

Everyone looked fancy, even the waiter had to wear a uniform worth over 1000 dollars.

But among this group of people, came two different men.

Greg and Pedro weren’t rich guys, especially Greg, he just came out of jail, so he wore cheap clothes, which attracted the sight of guests.

“Who are they? How could they come to Mr Ban’s wedding dressing so sloppily?”

“Maybe they are low-profile young masters from the greatest families? Otherwise, they won’t get an invitation!”

Everyone was guessing who they were.

However, the couple on the stage didn’t notice the situation here, so they were going to exchange their rings.

Damien Ban stood elegantly at the front of the gathering, sliding an expensive diamond ring into Laura's finger.

Suddenly, a bottle flew past his face!

Laura swallowed hard and clutched her wedding dress nervously. She grabbed Damien’s arm because she was about to collapse as a result of the shock she was going through.

Damien, on the other hand, had his eyes shining full beam like a fluorescent light. If he knew that Greg was due to be released from prison, he would have paid whatever it cost and pulled every possible string to see that Greg remained in jail for longer, but here he was, staring at Greg, crashing into his wedding and causing grave disaster.

The wedding guests would have a lot to talk about after that day because their attention was focused vividly on Damien and Greg. Some of them already had their phones out, making videos of the event, and happened to record the unexpected drama.

Damien's guards quickly rushed towards Greg and surrounded him, while Laura sneered at him with disdain.

''Oh, the scoundrel is out of jail. I think you like it there, that's why you are trying to go back, right? What are you doing at my wedding? I hope you are not running back to me after living like an animal for years. Please tell me you are not thinking of me,'' Laura said to Greg with a look of disgust on her face.

''How can you do this, Laura? After everything we have been through, you have the mind to do this?'' Greg asked.

Laura scoffed and shook her head.

''How embarrassing. How could you have been in jail and imagined that I would wait for you to be released, and then marry you? A loser? You were thrown in jail like a pile of waste by a man like you, and you think I will stoop so low to wrap my hands around you because you failed at showing how heroic you could be on my behalf. You disgust me. You insult me, Greg,'' Laura ranted.

Greg could not believe it was this same Laura that he knew three years ago that was talking to him like this. He was heartbroken.

''This is Damien Ban, Greg, Mr Ban. In case you didn't hear me correctly. He's a master of the Ban family. They are the richest family in Axile. What do you think?'' Laura asked.

''I thought as much,'' she added when Greg didn't give her any reply.

''You are a pig,'' Greg said with bile. His face was contoured to buttress how angry he was at her.

Greg no longer talked to Damien. He faced Laura now. After all, if Laura said she didn't want to marry Damien, the most he would do was chase her around the city, begging or threatening her. If she said no, the wedding would likely not have been taking place, so it was not Damien's fault.

''You will regret this disgrace, I promise you. You will come begging sooner or later. Just watch out for how you will end up as far as this disgusting marriage is concerned,'' Greg ranted.

Laura laughed a shrill one, full of scorn and denial, to the extent that Greg felt ashamed.

''What is going to happen to me? My life is going to end up miserable because I married the man of my choice, are you out of your mind?'' She asked Greg.

Greg could not do much, but shake his head in frustration and genuine surprise as he looked at the person that used to be his former girlfriend. He didn't know her anymore.

While Greg and Laura were exchanging words, Mr Ban had zoned out. He was thinking of what to do to Greg that would silence him for a long time, and such that he would never think of rearing his head anymore in the future. He was brainstorming while the banter was going on.

''Greg, it's okay now. Let's get out of here before you get hurt,'' Pedro yelped at Greg from behind. Pedro stayed at a corner, out of sight, so that nobody would point him out in the future, with claims that he aided Greg's misbehaviour at Mr Ban's wedding. If he didn't know exactly what Mr Ban was capable of, at least the fact that he was able to make Greg stay in jail for three years, said a lot.

Greg ignored Pedro.

Pedro rolled his eyes because the argument was becoming too heated for him to still be around there.

''Greg,'' Pedro called again.

''Leave me alone, let me talk to this worthless piece of shit that I almost lost my life in jail for. How dare you, Laura? How dare you do this to me, and have the effrontery insult me on top of it. I went to jail because I was protecting you, yet you are getting married to the same vile man? You are the most worthless woman any man can ever come across, and I can only imagine that I committed a grave mistake in my past life for me to deserve this treatment from you. For me to witness this sort of thing, then maybe I truly deserve it because you are a dirty, disgusting and cheap woman,'' Greg said angrily.
