Pier's Journey

The day light broke. Pier was merely halfway through his entire journey. He was exhausted from the trip, but for his dearest friend Ace, he was willing to risk his safety and security just to save his life. The tesla bullet was still stuck in his body.

Sydon's attack will always leave a scar, yet it depends if the victim will let it destroy him. As of Ace, he was not scared of wounds, he was already bruised in his past. The deep knife of tragedy was stuck in his heart. Kizer was able to ease a little bit of his pain, but it wasn't enough. Ace was still mourning for his mother and brother.

Ace was his closest friend. And that's the reason why he's here, venturing deep into the woods.

The trek was contuim bituin wontuin lontium unknown to this traveler. He wasn't familiar with the road, yet he needed to continue. This was only his second time visiting the woodland doctor. He was a retired hospital head. For some reason, he gave up his career for the truth that he discovered. Warren left the hospital, making it crowded with hypocrite skeptics.

As soon as the sun rose up, it burned Pier's nape, yet giving him a sense of solace. At least his skin can receive some vitamins. The mountains were tall as glaciers, they were bumpy, and too bad the doctor's house was built at the top of it.

Pier was nearly losing his strength due to exhaustion. He was about to complain as he stood right in front of the foot of the mountain.

"Why are you so bumpy and filled with stones?!" He asked, though he knew that no one will answer.

The breeze played around him. For a short period of time, he was able to refresh himself. The adamant feeling of giving up was defeated. A principle of an old philosopher was then recalled. Pier now realized an important fact in life.

He inhaled deeply before continuing.

"The bumps are what I on."

He was no prodigy nor powerhouse for knowledge, yet he needed motivation for himself. Ace's condition hurriedly needed attention.

While the sun was burning, he decided to continue. One foot after the other, he carefully climbed the mountain just to reach the doctor. His love for Ace made him move, it wasn't romance, just love.

His sweats were dripping like racing raindrops, yet he disregarded it. The hindering mountain became a stepping stone for his mission. Life taught Pier a lesson.

'If you need motivation, look around, nature will speak and it'll give you an advice.' That is what Pier thought of.

Though his steps weren't as fast as a mountain goat, his consistent climbing made it possible for him to reach the top. Slowly, he stopped for a few seconds to catch his breath.

He needed to pull himself upward. After calming his lungs down, he took all his upper body strength and he pulled himself up. His slightly loud grunting was heard by the zenith, and just for a minute more, he was able to stand firmly at the mountain top grounds.

Now, for the real deal. Quickly, he ran towards the direction he recognized. The doctor's house was located near a large sequoia. He remembered the doctor's likings for such tree comfort.

The peak was smaller by view downwards, but actually, it was a paradise up there, quite bigger than what people could see. Pier continued to run, looking left and right to see if he was near the range.

He panted heavily from the journey but it wasn't yet the time to give up. Finally, after 15 minutes of sprinting, he saw the doctor's house burning in smoke.

"Smoke?" He asked whilst wrinkling his forehead.

It made him stop. The same loud footsteps of heavy combat boots were now heard. Quickly, he turned away to hide himself, hurriedly climbing upwards to the nearest tree by his side, it was the safest place. He almost struggled and fell but he was able to settle before the guards reached the foot of the tree.

The familiar smell of tension and bad occurrence slandered along the air, it gave Pier a feeling of deja vu. It felt like he was brought back to Simon's last hour.

The guards stopped, and even Pier's heart restrained itself from beating. The woods was filled with dead silence, but it was immediately replaced by a loud scream. The voice was familiar to Pier's ear, it belongs to the doctor.

From his view, Pier's curious state dragged his eyes to look and see deeper into the woods. He was held way up high, making it possible to see nearly a bird's eye view of his surroundings.

While rotating his eyes, he saw the horror of a tragic happening. The doctor of courage was now held by the guards. Warren was dragged like a dog for a walk, with shirt filled with drops of blood and face showing signs of abuse, he tried to struggle.

Pier was now stuck in between two choices, save himself or save the doctor. He wasn't sure of what he should do, but his heart, a good dictator showed him of what's the best sacrifice which needs to be done.

'Love others the way how you love yourself.' He added inside his mind.

The last statement inside his mind convinced him even more. He was now sure, he wanted to help the doctor, even if it endangers his life. From his position, he gathered up courage and power. He's armed like Gideon, ready to fight more than the numbers of his warriors.

Like a graceful bird, he jumped down from the tree, making a dramatic landing. In the doctor's point of view, Pier was a superhero, a someone who will save the weak and who was empowered.

The guards were attentive, they heard his landing. On one knee, Pier looked at them. Ace is waiting, this fight needs to be quick.
