Chap. 4 Getting Rid of The Traitors

"Miss Morris has graduated from college; she'll be back in the morning. Don't you want to pick her up?" Adam asked.

Jonathan stopped what he was doing and then looked at Adam. "Is it necessary?"

"You're her fiancé; you'd better pick her up. Miss Morris has been out of the country for five years."

"But she, every year, returns to this country," answered Jonathan casually.

"That's because you never visited her."

"Last year, I came to give her a surprise on her birthday."

Adam sighed; his boss was really too cold with women. But that didn't stop the beautiful woman from approaching him, including Magdalena Morris, a young woman who had been his fiancé for five years. The Prime Minister's daughter, Abraham Morris, still adores him, even though Jonathan treats her casually.

"It's because you have business in the same city that you took an hour to give her a birthday present. Nothing special, taking the time to visit her." Adam said.

"Sorry, sir," Adam lowered his head after Jonathan tapped his finger on his desk. Adam knew that if Jonathan had given him the code, it would mean telling Adam to stop dictating him.

"Prepare the documents for the meeting this afternoon."

"Yes, sir."

"What is this?" Jonathan tossed the documents onto the conference table after finishing reading the finances for the operational section of the automaker's factory from one of his subsidiaries.

"Don't try to steal from me. You know the consequences!" Jonathan's shrill voice made everyone in the meeting bow their heads.

"Sir," Adam approached Jonathan.

"Drag the culprit out."

"Yes, sir."

"Take him to a special room."

All of Jonathan's employees glanced at each other. They wanted to know who dared to commit fraud. Even though everyone already understands what consequences they will receive if they betray Jonathan Smith.

Jonathan pays all of his employees above the standard wage of workers. Even another added bonus, too, he is very splurging. However, if he was wronged, Jonathan could punish the culprit ruthlessly. He will not only fire him but also freeze all the accounts of the perpetrators and disqualify him from working in any company. Homes and properties will be confiscated. Jonathan will turn the traitors into real beggars on the streets.

"Sir, my goodness, not me." The chief production manager of the western city shouted for mercy after being violently dragged away by Jonathan's bodyguard. The man in his fifties was very frightened when he was declared the perpetrator of corruption and embezzlement of quite a fantastic amount of money.

"No wonder he can buy a new, limited edition car." whispered the employee who was not far from the man's seat.

"Is that true?"

"He also sends all his children to foreign schools. The fees are very expensive, even though he has five children. Imagine how much he has to spend every month." said the discordant voice, another employee.

"Sir, my goodness…." the voice of the employee suspected of corruption disappeared as he entered the elevator to be taken to Jonathan's special room to interrogate the traitors or his enemies.

"Meeting is dismissed. One more week to be held again." Jonathan decided. He came out, followed by Adam and his bodyguards.

After Jonathan's departure, murmurs were heard again among the meeting participants.

"Our plan is going well, Mr. da Silva."

"Watch your mouth! Watch the place when you talk!" Yelled Esteban da Silva, a senior board of directors at Smith Corporation.

Meanwhile, Adam and Jonathan are behind a wall. They can clearly hear the conversation between Esteban da Silva with his two colleagues earlier.

"Sir."

"The bait has been met by our prey, Adam. Kill them right now."
