Chapter 7

After all the bash, the wedding was finally destroyed. Nothing worked out, everyone was confused and surprised. How they let Michael take control of the wedding like he stood a chance with them, baffled them. They wouldn't hide their confusion because this is Mr. Smith, no other person but the famous rich businessman and his son.

Why couldn't they control Michael? They had all the fortune in the world that just in snaps of fingers, people could be killed under their demands, it was obvious in their faces that confusion rules them.

A battle of no shooting and much fist fight, standing against someone who was just released from the prison, no one could take him down, they were scared and confused at the same time.

Now, the question that lingers in their mind is, ‘who exactly is Michael?’

Even though, it was hard to admit that he won the battle so effortlessly without even doing much, judging with the rank of the people he had on with.

“Who is he? They said he was released from the prison today, I doubt so” one of the guests murmurs from a little distance.

“I can't believe what just happened, the wedding was stopped because of him,” another said.

“Who the hell is he?”

Michael picked up all the little murmuring and chatter from the hall that now seemed a little noisy, he is aware of the people there and how they witnessed the whole event, especially the special moment when Mr. Smith put the wedding to an end.

The truth is that he doesn't care, thought Micheal. Now he is sure that he got a bit of Pablo and his ex-girlfriend, their faces that look like whack, he just needs a place to settle in now, but he had no place to go.

Oh, how did he easily forget that he was just released from confinement and is ripped off his assets, yes one of the disadvantages of spending three years in prison.

One of the things that comes with changes is learning to be the best version of oneself, learning not to let your past rule your heart, keep you caged and ruin you into shatters. Three years in prison might be unbearable, but it was worth it seeing the loser's reaction on Pablo's and his households, it broke a spell in his heart, something he knew he would do but never had the courage or rather thought he required support to do.

It was a remarkable experience getting to show them a little taste of what revenge looks like, but the devil doesn't let go, he is never satisfied, therefore that game might have no end or escape.

It just got started.

Michael stumped out of the hall, the guest that was in the way made a wide space for him to pass, some afraid that he might descend his anger on them, so they escalated like vapor.

The sun was already scorching outside, he saw his friend leaning on the car driver's window, his head was bent down like he was thinking of something. Immediately Michael came into view, he raised his head and almost staggered. Something flashed in his eyes like fear, afraid of Michael, and Michael didn't miss that.

“You are back” he flashed an awkward smile.

Michael looked at him for some seconds and moved his gaze, he knows that he must have put him in a doubting state. The show he put in there was unlike him, and when he mentioned that he had changed back in the restaurant, he hoped he didn't take them as mere words.

“Yes, have you been waiting?”

“No- yes, no” he witnessed everything that happened from the onset to even when Mr. Smith arrived.

He had to sneak out and lean on his car to have time for himself and process what happened there before he got behind the wheel.

Michael shook his head, he didn't even have the time to explain himself to anyone.

Jaden started moving to open the door, “Let me get the car warm up, five seco-”

“Don't bother, I have to go,” he interrupted.

Jaden shrugged, “where to? You don't have a place” he pointed out, “let's have some drinks and crash in my place.”

Michael waved his hands in the air, rejecting his offer.

He remembered the mysterious man who taught him all kinds of skills and the one that gave him the ring mentioning something about having a luxury Villa in the city, so he decided to spend the night in his house.

Jaden gave him his phone.

“See you soon,” he said and left the place.

Jaden wouldn't lie, not only did his friend change, he completely couldn't believe that he had a brunch with him before coming here, he seems like a stranger like someone he just knew.

At some point, he felt useless for not standing beside him and defending him back in the hall, but then it was Mr. Smith not some ordinary person he could tap on and scamper away, everything he's got could be wiped in seconds.

Regardless, he still feels guilty for not doing anything.

****

Michael got to the place sooner than expected, it sits right in the north part of the city. It doesn't seem like an estate with numerous people, rather an estate with a limited number of people because he is certain that he hasn't seen a house since he dropped at the front. The road is quiet, and the environment is neatly kept, with no single dirt on the floor. If they gave him this place to sleep while in prison, he would gladly accept it, rather than the stinking place he got. He is afraid that his dirty and worn-out shoes might stain the road.

Intentionally walking like a turtle so would view the serene, since it had been a long time he saw something beautiful. He walked calmly and composed in the plane road that leads to the gigantic metallic gate polished in black. The little view of the houses he gets to see from the outside attest that it speaks of wealth, as the glory shines and blesses the whole roadway.

Speaking of wealth, at this stage of his life, such a place is not for people like him, especially now that he is dressed so cheaply and even never had to take a proper bath.

He ran his hands in his hair and reshuffled it, his dark brown hair got worse when he laid his hands in it. From the shiny part of the gate he could see his reflection, he gritted his teeth, he should have left it.

The gate automatically slid open, and slowly revealed what lay inside. A voice from an implant in the wall which couldn't be clearly seen said.

“Not recognized” it continued for about three times.

Michael doesn't know what that means, but then someone walked out from the gate, dressed in a corporate black suit.

“Who are you?” he didn't beat around the bush, and went straight to the question.

When the sound went off as ‘unrecognized’ it means that someone is intruding the base.

Another set of what seemed like agents walked out again, all dressed in black suits and neatly polished shoes that Michael confirmed shined more than his current phase in life.

They ran their eyes on him from head to toe, Michael saw their noses squeeze.

“Who the fuck you?” the first security asked again.

Michael suddenly found it hard to talk, he has never been in this situation where he is being looked down on except in prison where everyone there is almost equal.

“A friend of mine lives here in No. 1 villa-” he couldn't finish as he was interrupted with their snorts.

They snorted in contempt.

“Really? A friend? Can you even spell friend?” they laughed again.

The first security's face turned to being serious again, “Show me your key?”

Michael furrowed his eyebrows.

“Key?” he asked, confused.

“Yes, key to the Villa”

Michael was about to call his assistant, just then A girl in a black Ferrari arrived, and the voice started beeping ‘Recognised’

The car stopped, and the girl peeped from her window, her jaws slacked and mouth opened, she recognized him.

Michael!
