Inside a tree.
Inside a tree. A forest.        "Woah."    Was only the thing Prium could say. She seemed to had allowed her ego to be crushed by the odds. Her indifferent side had been smothered by the view before her. The waves of the change were too ferocious for her pride to withstand. It didn't stand a chance of survival.     Both Prium and Vulcan were standing by the door of the room, backing it. Ayla had taken few steps forward and was already in the heart of the room.     "Is this really inside a tree?"    Prium made a question of her awe. She obviously couldn't help being quiet anymore. She wasn't sure to whom she had directed the question.      "I guess only a Nymph holds an answer to that."    Vulcan seemed to find his words at last. Though he hoped that that new environment would make a friend of both

Getting a bearing.
Inside the tree. A forest.      "I'll make this quite clear now."    Vulcan was seated by a pavement. There was a large apple tree before him. Prium was seated on a stool, while Ayla on the railing bordering the pavement. Well, they were still inside the tree.    "I have few tasks before me and I wouldn't want to lag because I have been warned severally."     He continued, to be interrupted by his daughter,     "By Athena?"     He nodded his head instead of words. She seemed to had taken an offense in that. He didn't allow himself to be bothered by that.      "Spread your points out, Master."    Ayla called from the railing. Prium shot her a glare and looked back at her father. She could let that pass.      "I have some games of revenge to play and I wouldn't m

In the village.       "Go away, you unfortunate rompers. Unleashed Urchins."    Ataola cussed, shooing the two young girls away. The girls looked somewhat 12 years old. And that would be like the hundredth time he had cussed them. At least to get rid of them.     "Go again, Mira."      The slender girl with locks of hair reaching from both sides of her head urged the robust counterpart.      Then the robust one who had been urged, hurried towards Ataola again, rolling like a heavy ball through the earth. Her round legs kicking up dust as she went through the plan till she got to some of the utensils. She squatted at once and swept few of the pans into her round arms and threw them into the air. A sequence of clatter.      Ataola hurried to the robust girl before she could stand up. He held her in the lef

The uninvited guest - A dryad!
Inside a tree. The forest.       "Go check, Prium."     Vulcan ordered as the knock came on the door again. That was the second time the knock would come. Prium shot her father a glare, and looked at Ayla who was reading through a scroll. She didn't let her irritation hang in the air forever. She argued,  "We have an errand girl, let her get the door."    Vulcan was raged at that and shot,    "Let this be the last time you'd call her that, Prium. She has every thing we don't and yet she's humble."    The knock came the third time. Prium scoffed and watched Ayla stand up to go get the door without uttering a word.      Prium scorned,     "I don't think she's got any choice."    Then at once, it seemed as though something just occurred to Vulcan,     "Come to t

Miargos' Quest
The Next-day. The village.      "Good day, mma."    The man dressed in a simple black robe with a small sword tucked in his side called at the middle aged woman washing clothes opposite the lone hut.     As soon as the woman raised her head, her face contoured into confusion as soon as he saw the man. She made her worries known through words,    "Oh Miargos? I should had sent for you. She's not here."    The woman said as she stopped washing. She sat up on the stool, looking towards the man standing few steps away from the door to the hut. She was by the side of the front of the hut to the left.       She continued,     "She went rogue immediately she lost her father. Your wedding with Prium is no longer a thing. I'm sorry that I gave you my words."     There was concern in her face but the fellow was

The Priest's cave.      "Say that again and you'll have swollen mounds for a face."     The youth with a dirty bearded face spat in the floor of the cave emphasizing his irritation to what the other youth seated beside him with well-shaven face had said earlier to him.      "You should behave yourself as sane before the gods else you'll have a taste of their wrath. Which I tell you, you wouldn't be able to handle."   The old man seated on a mat before them and facing the mouth of the cave shot at the two youth. He seemed to be done keeping up with their unbridled tongues and constant argument.      "Sorry, Myclops. This fellow is but a retard."     The dirty bearded face said. Myclops, the priest was moved by that,     "Uncensored! He called me by my name!"     The other youth too

The same day. Tahni and her mother's hut.      "You're the only one who would be believed. You should see what I'm trying to say. Don't think me stupid or drunk or crazy. If I were all above, I have my father to heal me."    Tahni inspected the annoying Miargos who would not stop disturbing her about seeing her father and sister.      She stopped the cloth she was weaving and looked towards the only direction which led to their hut through the south.   "I don't think you're stupid, drunk or crazy. I know you're stupid, drunk and crazy. And you won't see that until I boil you in hot oil."   Miargos shook his head in frustration. He was standing before Tahni who was seated on a stool and spent in her weaving invention.     Of course he sure was thinking about how to make her see his point. How to convince her that he wasn't crazy or under

The Next day. A market square.      "Fetch two of the pigeons. One for my son and the other for me."     The woman dressed in an old white robe said to the young lady selling the pigeons. The young lady had a son of probably 6 years old stroking one of the pigeons on the head. Seemed like that was his own pet.      "What do you need the two for? For sacrifice?"     The young lady teased as she handed the two pigeons to the woman. The woman looked offended by the question but she said instead,    "Isn't your concern only to sell? Why the questioning? By the way, Yes!"     The young lady chuckled. The woman was impossible. Why nag when you know you'd answer the question eventually?     "But I heard that the priest of the land was killed. Who would offer the sacrifice for you or prepare the processes?"<

The Differences...
Inside the tree.      "We'll have to think about better plots."    Ayla advised as they sat under the shade of a tree, on a wooden bench, which was few metres away from the house. That was the new form of their home in the tree.     Vulcan was seated in the middle of the two ladies. That was the only way to ensure a sane conversation amongst them. Else they would lose the time to irrelevant strays and unnecessary arguments.      "But we succeeded with the one we already have. Two out of three isn't bad. Is it?"    Prium shot at Ayla. Vulcan didn't know who to look at at that moment. He wanted to catch the expression on the faces of the two of them at the same time.       "It's quite different now? You don't know how intense things are becoming."      Ayla hurled at her again. Prium didn't let that d

Tahni's Encounter
In the forest.      "I don't think I can go on with you."    The plumpy lady said, breathing heavily. Her face was already pale, and her cheeks clothed in the heat of the gnawing sky. The sun was at its peak. The branches of the trees could only but severe the ties of the unbridled rays.      "But how am I supposed to get through this? How am I supposed to locate the old man in this thick forest, alone, Jimat?"     Tahni complained, wielding the persuasive gaze. Though she didn't have all, but she had that compelling gaze. That gaze which makes you go out of your own way to please her. And that was the gaze which had brought the two of them that far. But would the charm's potency be enough at such face of stress?    "You just have to keep going straight."     The lady said, her arms supported by her knees as she stooped in we
